**Baseband I927UCLJ3** sorry if that threw anyone off.
Hey guys, I am wondering if anyone has experienced any wifi connectivity issues on the new update.
I dont have any issues connecting to wifi, but for some reason, it wont stay connected for very long. It seems like after I go out of range, it simply wont connect to anything, and I have to manually connect to my network.
The problem is I have been blowing through my data plan, thinking I'm on wifi, since everywhere I go I am normally on wifi. But in actuality, because my phone hasnt been auto connecting to the networks, I have gone through half of my data plan in about a week.
This has only happened since the 2nd release of ICS. The first one work fine for me (expect the black light issue, which I didnt really care that much about).
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,
I believe wifi has nothing to do with baseband. Probably there is something wrong with your phone and the new kernel wifi driver...
I'd try removing the access point and re-creating it, and playing with the advanced wifi settings.
Also, try rebooting the router/wifi access point.

Thanks for the info!!! I looked more closely into the settings and for some reason it was set to turn off wifi when sleeping.
I feel a little stupid, but I'm glad I got it sorted out.
I really appreciate the help.

As the title suggests, I am not having much luck with the wireless.
I turn it on, but it does not see any wireless INTERNET in the area at all. This was working fine a few days ago, but have only noticed it now.
Have tried a factory reset and cleared the SD card to no avail.
Cheers for any help
Grady
reset the password on the wireless (can be the same password as ur old one) but it will cause ur network to go down for a bit, and come back up and when its coming back up, ur phone will report it as avalible, and u can access it again, i have noticed this my self. and found it extremely annoying, it seem to be appearing when turning off the wifi on the phone and then turning it on again, after that the phone wont be able to reconnect to any rememebered device(even if u choose to forget it)
Can u please try this, and report back here if its working or not.
incase it is, it might be a issue with the 2.1 for the desire, and should be reported back to android devs.
Thanks for the reply, but Im afraid no cigar.
Reset the router, changed the password and the desire is still not picking up any wireless networks around me even though my Nexus one is.
Pain in the grass as I was to sell my HTC desire today, but if the wireless isnt working thats a deal breaker.
download the free app wifi analyzer and have a look if that one can spot any wifi broadcasts in your area,
Downloaded and it cant seem to find anything at all?
Does this mean somehow my wifi has broken?
Funny thing this because my desire has just done this today.
I went in to my router and disabled the security. I deleted the key on the phone and the phone found the network and connected OK. Went back into the router and re enabled security and rebooted the router. The phone then found the network and asked for the key. Entered the key and all good connecting now.
I've been having the same problem for quite some time now..., send it back to repair came back after a month...,, did it the first time i used my phone. disconected it for battery saving.... and when i turned it back on again it didnt found any wireless connection...
I'm lost... dont really know what to do next....,,, I'll try this method when i get home today....,, hope it works... but does that mean u have to do this everytime you want to use your wifi?:S:S

Are you using stock android or a custom ROM. I seem to remember some custom ROMS having issues with wireless networks on certain channels.
Try changing the channel of your wireless router.

Alright, this is not like the biggest problem, but I would certainly like to know if it happens to anyone else, and is it possible to be solved.
So, my WiFi connection is very good, actually router is in my room, and I don't have problem connecting to it, but just a little annoying thing.
When I go out of the house, of course, I lose connection, but when I get back, I see that phone HAS reconnected itself to my home network, but then I try going to some website, and it says it has no connection. In order to make it work I have to turn WiFi off and then back on.
It's not that big of a deal, I didn't even care to post this so far, but it's getting kinda annoying, if I lose connection for 1 sec it's done, it can't reconnect correctly.
I installed WiFi Manager app, but it didn't change anything, it just makes it easier to connect to WiFi again.
So, my question is: Has this ever happened to you, and how can I solve this, is there any way?
Hopefully you can take a bit of your time and read this whole post, and help me.
Thanks in advance
Hello,
I've searched around the Epic 4G Touch forums as best I could, but sadly I couldn't find anything that was exactly this problem (although I found some interesting articles about wifi sleep time but they don't seem to apply). I'm experiencing an annoying issue where I can connect Wifi just fine, but if the phone is left for a small period of time (~10 minutes), wifi appears as if it's still connected, however it cannot send/receive data. When this happens, the wifi status says it's "connected", but there is no data connection. The only way to to get the data back is to turn off wifi, wait for 3/4G connection to initialize, then turn Wifi back on to refresh it...then it's fine again until I set the phone down again.
I had this problem on stock EL29, so I rooted and flashed Phantom Blazer ROM (very cool ROM, but I'm still experiencing the same issue). After reading the threads on here about wifi sleep times (apparently they're backwards with ICS roms), I've experimented with every setting, yet I still have the same issue--Wifi is fine as long as I'm using the phone, I set it down, after about 10 minutes pick it back up, says it's still connected, but no data connection.
has anybody experienced this problem with this phone? I'm about to unroot my phone/go back to factory so I can take it in to a Sprint store, the problem is they (trying not to be offensive) don't seem to know very much about this device. I thought I'd ask the pros before I return it, get an iPhone, and have to eat my words about how cool Android is vs. iPhone in front of all my friends. I'm hoping there's a reliable ROM or app that can resolve this vs. having to just replace the device!
Thanks for your help!
I'm not the only one
I'm not the only one with this problem:
edit: I can't post links to androidforums.com or anywhere else, but this same problem is all over the interwebs and nobody has a solution.
I'm sure it's not my router as my ASUS tablet/laptops/girlfriend's iPhone experiences no connectivity problems. I'm thinking this is a hardware problem with some of these devices. I will unroot/reset to factory tonight and let you know what happens.
What channel is your router on? And what type is it A/B/G/N?
This is s known TW ICS bug, most likely kernel related. Almost everyone is having this issue and there is no fix until Samsung decides to repair it. There are quite a few posts similar to this one. If you're using XDA's search function, it's not very good. Try using Google next time and search XDA that way.

Hey guys, thanks for the response. Just before I unrooted/reset to factory I tried one last solution--download an app called "Wifi Fixer". It has resolved a lot of these problems. It's not 100%, but after testing it for a day so far, I've only had to manually refresh the connection once or twice. It's a lot better, even liveable, and I won't be resetting to factory afterall, at least not until Samsung provides an update. So if anyone is having the same problem, try Wifi Fixer, hopefully it gives you a similar level of success...I'm not super happy about having to run another background process all the time, but it doesn't seem to affect battery, and the fix it provides is worth it to me.
Cheers!
Huh - a couple of things. Noticed this problem crept back in FF18 and didn't know why until I went back and checked the wpa_supplicant.conf that I'm using. The line ap_scan=2 was missing; after adding it back in the signal strength is back to full and stable.
I'll bump the thread but it appears the config changes here still hold after all:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569348
This should also avoid having the WiFi fixer there as you can specify the country in wpa_supplicant.conf manually.
Thanks for looking in to this! A couple questions from a noob like me though:
When you say the problem crept back in FF18 ... what does that mean? Is that something that exists in the "stock" version of the Epic 4G touch from Sprint?
The manual config file tweaks you're describing ... is that something I can perform myself?
Basically I'm wondering if it's "safe" to revert to stock in order to get consistent wifi signal, or if it's something I'm experiencing because of the ROM I'm using.
Thanks!
Hey all. I need some advice. This morning my G3 (D850) dropped WiFi connection for no reason. It says the signal is good but the network info says saved, secured. It will attempt to connect over and over again and if it does connect the signal is weak as can be and it drops the connection within 2 seconds. My coworker has a G3 also and is connected to the same work network I am. His connection says excellent where as mine said good. His device connects just fine with full bars. I'm baffled. I've already tried manually selecting 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz instead of auto select and that didn't help at all. I've tried manually turning off WiFi and turning it back on. I've tried turning airplane mode on and then off to refresh the connection and that didn't help. I've done a battery pull as someone in one of the android authority forums suggested that (apparently I am not the only one having this issue.), didn't work. I've unchecked WiFi optimization - no dice. There was another post on a different forum here on XDA that said turning off WiFi and then deleting the WiFi config folder located in data/etc/wifi and then rebooting fixed the issue for them so I tried that. After reboot when I tried to turn on WiFi my G3 rebooted itself. Does it everytime. SO, I had to restore to a nandroid backup (btw I'm on rooted stock 10f) to get the phone to stop hating my WiFi toggle attempts. Last ditch effort I did a factory reset hoping for an easy fix... Nope. I don't know what else to try. It was fine yesterday all day. This morning it was perfectly fine and then randomly started having this issue. I haven't altered any system files whatsoever. I really don't want to send my device to LG for warranty replacement so I'm hoping someone can help me out that may have had this issue and resolved it. The only difference between my device and my coworkers device is he is still on 10d and I am on 10f. That could be the issue I guess but that doesn't really explain why my device has been perfectly fine until this morning and I've been on rooted 10f for weeks. I am planning on flashing back to straight bone factory stock 10d when I get home here in a few hours from work but Idk if that will help or not. Judging from the amount of google search results of "LG G3 WiFi connection problems" this seems to be an issue for several people. I won't know if it's on the software side or hardware side until I get home but in the meantime has anyone had these issues at all? People have had success in changing to Static IP but I would have to do that for every connection I attempt to connect to and that's a pain in the a$$. Also, that does nothing to identify the root cause of the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. =)

Thanks for the reply. So it turned out my phone just randomly decided it doesn't like my work network anymore. Idk why lol. I got home and it hooked right into WiFi. Gf's WiFi and open networks as well. I call shenanigans. I went ahead and flashed back to 10d anyway though.

I am having the same issue! But it is happening in other networks too...sometimes I get the phone to connect but it only works for a while and when I check the networks it only says Saved, even if I try to connect again
Having the same issue, whether at work or home, my wifi has become near useless. I've even gone as far as trying a different ROM. Didn't work.
Same thing here
I also have tried factory reset, installed a new ROM, changed settings in my router... but the problem remains I don't know what to do anymore, I use wifi a lot!! I searched through other topics but no one seem to know how to solve it. Unfortunately my warranty already expired, I took my phone to some technicians but honestly it didn't help at all...they all said it was a software bug and I should wait for an update but if it was just that a new ROM would fix it,right?
I am not very familiar with phone hardware but I assume that if it was a hardware problem I wouldn't be able to turn it on or connect to any network, right?? (any experts here???)
Any solution is welcomed.
anyone please?? :crying:
P.S : I tried a new baseband, new kernel and new ROMs. So far, nothing changed.
I can connect sometimes but get kicked out within minutes. At other times I only get the saved, secured message.
This is happening in every network
I have a new LG G3 I bought last month from Woot.
Its my first time using FreedomPop as a provider coming from my Boost G3
Not used phone much but every time i do it keeps getting disconnected for my WiFi whaich had no problems with my Boost setup.
After reading some other thread I found I tried all those fixes to no avail.
I really need to get this phone to stay connected to my WiFi as FreedomPop relies on it greatly as in I cant use the free plan as I been eating up too much of the 500mb of data allowed.
Those are added reasons for me to use my WiFi connection as much as possible.
One thing I notice is when WiFi is working is it looks like a ! added to my wifi icon and assuming that showing a problem but no clue what it is.
So after 5 or 10 mins wifi icon gone I go to settings wifi it shows wifi disconnected. I re enable it wash rise repeat. Any help be great TIA!
Heres a google with some of the fixes I tried which did not help....

I did what setting there might help?
I did seemingly fix the problem at least for now as this problem seems to come and go as I dont use phone that often and only then I see problem is there.
I had to reset my phone which I am not sure if this method works for other carriers than FreedomPop but I think it does.

The problem is back phone will disconnects after a few mins after connecting and watching phone disconnect.
What different this time around is I wanted to turn off my data connection as I kept getting huge data downloads that I been trying to avoid so I can see if I can use the FreedomPop free services which consist of 500mb of data and 500 messages and 200 minutes of talk time.
My old Boost phone never used much data at all so know it was working fine with that setup as I am alaways connected to my own WiFi and only time I would need to use data is when I go to Drs office once a month.
I should be able to make this all work fine for my situation if I can stay hooked up to my WiFi but its pretty annoying and wasting my data when it wont stay connected .
