Does anyone know how to separate the camera app from the gallery? I really dislike the stock gallery, but the new JB camera ha some features I don't want to give up.
I see Camera JB+ in the market, but it's$1.99 Was hoping not to have to buy an app I already have.

Before I help my wife's poor Epic 4g,
Does the camera app on CM7 nightlies have panoramic photo abilities that the Samsung Gingerbread has?
If no, is it possible to get the Samsung Camera App.... and get it to run on this?
Thanks in advance,
gfdos

If panoramic is in the CM7 camera app, I can't for the life of me find where to turn it on, so I'm going to say it's not there.
As far as getting the Samsung camera apk to work, I believe it is inherently part of the TouchWiz structure and can't be ported over to AOSP. Probably have to find a third party camera app that can do it, but I don't have any recommendations. It's probably the only thing I'm not happy about regarding CM7; definitely not a deal breaker, but I miss it. I recently took a trip to Peru and mostly took shots with my little Sony ultracompact, but any time I wanted an instant panoramic, I'd whip out my Epic.
I thought there are panoramic camera apps in the Market.

There are pana cam apps in the market. Cm7s cam is an aosp so it wont have all the goodies

Pano is what I use. It is a paid app but I like it a lot.

Perhaps they'll incorporate Panorama in CM9, as ICS Stock's Camera has Panoramic.

Since getting my Nexus I've tried a bunch of other camera apps and was wondering what the best camera apps or mods for the GNex are out there.

I like the stock camera with tweaks, such as volume rocker for zoom, power button as a shutter button, etc.
But a whole different app? I would recommend Camera FX. Used it in GB and it was much more enjoyable.

Stock camera. I use after focus and photo art to add cool effects later

The stock camera is pretty good out of the box. I've been trying UCam and Shot Control as of late. Both have a pretty interesting UI.

I've been using after focus and picshop to edit photos after.

Camera ICS no doubt! This camera should have come stock!

I'm always on!
I'm trying to figure out which to go with, the EVOLTE or the SGSIII. I saw in some discussions that the EVOLTE camera on CM10 was able to get some improve camera source code. How is the camera quality on the SGS3 using CM10? Is it just the standard stock camera, or has it been enhanced to get more of the stock camera quality?
cheers
Idk on cm 10 but the stock touch wiz camera takes pretty good pictures and i would upload one but xda app limits size like crazy

Hi, I am currently running a JB Rom[CM10 port] which has gotten rid of all the stock apps, such as: stock gs2 music player, video player, camera and gallery.
I dont mind not having the stock music and video player but I loved the stock gs2 gallery and camera. So i tried looking for them on the forums but none of them were working on my rom, the one thing I could get to work was the TouchUX launcher. So if anyone can tell me where I can find the stock gs2 or even s3 gallery and camera app that will work on this JellyBean ROM i would really appreciate it
Download Camera JB+ from the store. That, when installed, will give you separate camera and gallery apps.

I already have it. I'm looking for the stock Samsung Galaxy gallery app that will work on my S2 with a JB ROM
Okay so I started using the stock ROM but then I moved over to cyanogen for a little while only to find out that the camera in cyanogen was really bad so I move back to stock and I'm not saying I regret the decision but I really would love to go back to cyanogen so I was wondering if anyone might know of a camera app that is comparable to the stock app for this device any help would be appreciated!

I'm using Focal (Beta) at the moment and i realy like it
It's buggy but hey that's ok its just a beta.
This app is gonna be great when it's released !!
Just my opinion.
Cymera has been good to me:

yes I was using focal but i cannot have a buggy camera. im a photographer and I use my phone a lot for scouting for shoots rather than carrying around my main gear. need something that will replace the cm10 sh*t camera with good features and functionality as the stock camera on the s4.
ProCapture!
There's an .apk for the Google Edition camera over in the Themes/Apps section. I use it alongside the stock camera and it's every bit as good I think.

I disagree with the assessment that AOSP camera is sh*t. Kudos to the developers - it's pretty fast and very, very usable, and the swipe to gallery is great (haven't seen that in any other party camera app). I'm picky about the camera.
That said, if you're set to find a 3rd party camera, then look at Camera FV-5.
Compared to all the other apps listed on this thread, it's superior with basic camera features missing in the other apps, such as focus mode, manual ISO, exposure compensation, exposure bracketing, grid layovers, etc. No gimmicky filters or effects like the others listed here. It makes a decent 'manual' camera out of the limited capability that the phone comes to begin with. It shows the 'life' shutter speed. Its auto ISO has a bias to go higher ISO than AOSP camera - up to 2000, so it may guard against shake but at the expense of grainier pics in the darker settings, but these phones aren't meant for that anyway. ProCapture is the closest to FV-5, but not as good for manual settings (i.e., after you set the exposure compensation on ProCapture, you won't see the value explicitly shown, so that could trip you). The one thing about FV-5 is it has a tad slower startup than the stock AOSP camera.
Updating my recommendation to either "A Better Camera" or Lenovo Super Camera.
