Can someone help me?

I suspect the MicroSD is the problem.
Try using a different MicroSD for awhile, let's say 2 or 3 days. If the problem doesn't resurface, we can be certain that the MicroSD *is* the culprit.

I might the same problem earlier. In fact, while you connect your W to your computer Via USB your external was even corrupted(computer prompted for formats, right?) sometimes. The files never went into your external even if you copied.
Try this, flash forfivo's V1 kernel. Or V3. Doesn't matter. No UV version.
It worked for me for now.
If it worked, gimme a thank. Working on collecting it.
Thanks for your answer, but it didnt work

First, check that there are no .nomedia files in your SD Card somewhere in the parent path.
Second, try checking your SD Card for errors.
Like I posted before, I strongly suspect the problem is with your card, not with the ROM.

I'd have a go with pepoluans suggestion too. But I think its your card which is having issues. Try formatting and randomly place a song in it. Format using your computer in FAT32 format.

Depends on its position.
A .nomedia file indicates that a directory (and all subdirectories underneath, including their descendants) should be excluded from media scanning. For example, a directory containing icons of an app; you don't want meaningless icons to fill up your gallery of photos.
A rule of thumb: .nomedia files should not be in the root directory of your SD Card, for it will exclude the whole SD Card from scanning.

I've had a Galaxy Wonder for just over a year now, and it has all but ground to a halt. I've been toying with the idea of a factory reset to see what affect that has, but discovered this community tonight and am now leaning towards a custom ROM. I've looked into Custom ROMs for the Galaxy W before, but never come across such an active community for this phone.
I've rooted my device using the ''Rooting via Recovery mode(SD card)' method.
Now I'm reading though keithross39's excellent set of beginning instructions found here. The decision that needs to be made is which ROM to go for. The Jelly Bean is was the first that I looked at, but it seems that it doesn't have enough working features for my liking. So essentially it's a choice between a faster GB ROM or one of the ICS ROMs. My main priorities are working features, stability and speed... ideally I'd like to try ICS, but it depends how the speed compares vs GB.
keithross39 provides this list of ROMs

Thanks in advance.
Hi and thanks for endorsing my post, it's there to help anybody who needs it......
As for which ROM to choose, a very good place to start is Arco68's CM9 ICS.....it's now at RC (release candidate) stage....which means that it is *virtually* stable. I used it up until beta 3 (from alpha 7) and I never had any issues with stability on any of the versions I flashed. And yes, leaving GB behind and using ICS is definitely the way to go.....

As a starting point and possible alternative to completely changing your ROM, why not download an app like Gemini app manager (free) or Titanium backup (paid) and freeze the pre installed bloat that came with your phone.....just as a starting point, and see if that speeds things up.....that's what I did......that's not to say you *shouldn't * flash a custom ROM.... but why rush things....
Alternatively there's no reason why you shouldn't just "dive in" and go custom.....if you're worried about ICS not being quite there yet, there are some very good custom GB ROMs available.....these are faster than the stock ROM you are using at the moment, but won't have the extra functionality and speed of ICS.....I'm afraid it comes down to doing a bit of research and a personal choice based on that research......

I've tried cm9 since first stage Arco has impressed me with every update, and you missed the happiness when the camera got fixed
And for the post
I think you should start with the ICS ROMs first, jb it's cool but it's just a modified ICS and is not fully stable right now, learn how to use the ICS then after jb goes stable go for it

Thanks for all of the really useful replies. I'm likely to go for Arco68's CM9 to begin with them.
I just want to clear one thing up before I launch into this process. When I make the back-up using Nandroid, that will allow me to return the phone to the exact same state that it was in when the back-up was made? Also, step 2 states 'FOR BEST RESULTS, UPDATE YOUR SUPERUSER.APK, SU BINARY, AND BUSYBOX'. I have just installed Busybox that will be the latest version, however, how do I update Superuser.apk and SU Binary?
Edit
Okay, ensuring that I had the latest version of superuser.apk was as easy as spending 30 seconds on Google. I'm drawing a blank on the SU Binary though. I don't understand exactly what it is...
I wouldn't worry too much about it, according to the superuser change log, the binary updater has been temporarily disabled in the latest apk version for "security concerns".....just go ahead and use it "as is"....it'll still do the job......

Where can I get that seeder thingie?
I've installed the customwork MOD. Now I've booted into it and am faced with the question.

Does it matter what I do? If I don't hear back shortly I'll go with no.

Thanks for the answer. Yes, that is indeed what I meant. It was a bit of a rushed reply because I was pannciking and also trying to keep half an eye on my phone in case any other options showed up.
I've now backed-up the device using the Clockword Mod, directly onto the SD card.

Now that is something I've not come across before.....don't do anything else to your phone til we've got to the bottom of this.......
Do you know whether this message was phone generated or app generated.......
Have you checked / tested to see whether root remains....you can do this by downloading an app that requires root access (quick boot for example) and seeing if it'll work.....

That message appears if CWM detects the presence of install-recovery.sh in /system/etc
install-recovery.sh is a hook into boot process that is usually used to install and/or run a recovery image.
Some apps 'hijack' install-recovery. sh to provide early availability. One app that I know does this is Link2SD.
My guess is that @creative-2008 had installed Link2SD or some other utility that created the file.
Important note: Before you begin to think "a ha! I can use this instead of init.d", you must first understand that the environment when install-recovery.sh begins is *totally* different from the environment of init.d scripts. /data has not been mounted, SDcards still exist as device nodes under /dev and has not been mounted, and lots of other things do not exist yet.
In short, hacking an install-recovery.sh script means that you have to mount & prepare everything yourself... and be very careful that what you do in there will not interfere with later boot procedures, or you'll end up with a soft-brick.

Bearing in mind that I have fully installed the custom ROM, following the instructions posted on this forum... should I take any action because of the 'error' message that I received. I haven't had any problems with ICS as yet.
Also, am I right in saying that apps could have only edited the install-recovery . sh after the phone was rooted?

Best if you zip your install-recovery.sh and attach them here. I'll have a peek to determine what's going on.
As to your 2nd question: Yes, apps shouldn't be able to edit install-recovery.sh unless your phone is rooted.

I have been into the Play Store and viewed a list of recently installed apps, and believe that I have narrowed it down to the only four that were installed between rooting the phone and installing the custom ROM. A screenshot of the list is attached.
I have tried locating install-recovery by googling, manually searching through the file system using OI File Manager and searching using the file name, but haven't been able to find it. Can someone tell me where I need to look?
For some reasons I can't quote. So I'll use numbers to answer the last posting.
1. Either you forgot to attach the screenshot or I'm going blind
2. It's in /system/etc

Maybe trimming the rom before flashing it
or simply moving large apps to SD...
It's a shame though Inspire 4G has 4GB ROM, while DHD - 4 times less.

Hello ,
My last ROM problem was solved and I know have CM9 ROM .
But I noticed that the files on my sd card are still there ,and I want a Clean start .
I am used that they are deleted whenever I made a ( Reset to factory settings ) as I was making always before thinking to Root and make Custom ROM ,
I just wanted to know what would happen if I Made a ( Reset to factory settings ) from the settings menu ,
ofcourse I know my backup that I have on the internal card will be deleted but :
Will I lose the Root ?
Will I lose the Custom ROM and go back to the original ROM ?
The second question is , I heard before that I can share some space from my external sdcard to my internal sd card , is that really possible by any method ?
Sorry for long topic .
Any one ?
Search on the W forum for a thread by @pepoluan about 'pristine' wiping your phone....it will help you achieve the 'fresh start' that you want....and yes, unless you move your nandroid to alternative storage, you will probably lose it.
And as far as I remember, CM9 has the option to swap storage mounts which will allow you to use your external micro SD card as phone storage......
Find it by......
Menu>>settings>>storage>>menu>>advanced....
and then 'tick' the box against (something like) 'use SD card as phone storage' (it's been a while so I can't remember the exact wording)......

Thank you very much keithross39 and dec0der ,
I have resetted my phone without any problems at all ,
I just have another newbie question please
I see people talking about ROMs saying for example : CM9 EOL Honeyx Kernel
I don't inderstand anything in this except CM9 , But what is EOL , and what is Honeyx Kernel ?
I downloaded my CM9 version from the official thread here
I know it is written EOL in the Title of the official thread but I don't know what it mean ? and what is the Kernel ? and what name of the kernel I use ?
EOL as far as I know simply means end of line....which means the final release or no further development.... and the kernel is just something you flash on top of the ROM which allows greater control of things like processor speed, voltage etc. Flashing a kernel *can* have it's advantages, but it is not something you *have* to do......

Yes thanks I get it .
But from your experience is flashing kernel is as risky as flashing ROMs ,and do I have to also swap my files when installing it , and if I have a CM 9 . Can I flash any kernel with the name CM9 on it and not CM10 right ?( I am sorry but indeed I was very scared to flash ROM because of the too much talk about bricking the phone ) .
When you modify your phone there's *always* going to be an element of risk.....whether that risk is higher when flashing a kernel or not, I don't know......I've always stayed with the kernel that comes with my chosen ROM. To answer another question, yes you have to use a kernel that is compatible with your ROMs OS version. As for the storage mount swap, I'm fairly certain that this is ROM controlled as opposed to kernel controlled, so you should be OK....

Thanks keithross ,
So I think I am fine with just the CM9 and no need for other kernel ( at least for now ) .
Yeah.....you can always try a kernel another time....but do yourself a favor..... read as much as you can about every kernel you are considering before you flash it.....in the same way that every ROM is different, every kernel will be different and bring different tweaks to your phone.......

First of all it´s nice to see there are still such smart noobs like you who are posting their questions in the correct section. For this you deserve a 1+
About the rest it´s like keithross already said. First become familiar with your fevorite ROM. There is still time to test all the kernels out.
All the custom kernels are supposed to incrase battery life but also have some other tweaks included. Most of them are very similar because they are using a lot of the exact same tweaks like for example the ones for battery. However there are always some differences like the amount of added tweaks.
This is because all the Developers do have slightly different priorities to what is important to tweak. Some devs are more conservative and just adding the tweaks that are really important in his opinion and are also known to work properly with all devices whereas other devs are more openminded to add some new tweaks.
However this doesn´t mean some of them are better and some of them are worse. It´s just like that. One and the same kernel can work very good on one SGW whereas it may cause some problems on a secound SGW due to the included tweaks. Therefore it´s also good to have such a wide-spread variety of custom kernels, so everyone can find out which of them works best on his device.
People should start using Google.
Go to this URL and press 'Ctrl+F' or menu button then find on phones.
Type Kernel and discover things you never knew. As keithross said, research on these kind of stuff before you flash em.

Thanks again

Regarding Camera Storage u can change it to ext memory card...Do This after opening cam you could see a bubble on the right side.. That is the key next to the right side of the shutter key. Click on it. Then More options, Settings. In that you can change storage to external sdcard...

It's not because of size currently some apps are not compatible with 4.4 kit kat and so r not compatible with CM11 so some apps if u download it will give error or it will download and installation process shows but practically don't install...Its Incompatibility issue....
