XWJG1
It contains 2 CSC files. The localization is russian and ex-USSR.
XWJFF: This is the European version, with corresponding localization.
Both files can now be found on samsung-firmwares.com
Known bugs:
The JG1 version has a serious issue with SMS, i.e. cannot send SMS written with Swype. This can be fixed by installing [email protected]'s custom rom (r2).
Some clarification on CSC, as explained very nicely by andrewin on forums.samdroid.net:
"CSC contains some country-specific apps (for example, uTalk and Naviphone for Russia), and also country APN settings.
If you enter *#272*HHMM# (where HHMM the time on your device, eg. 0750 for 7:50am) in the standard dialer and see a choice of several country codes, you have Multi CSC. Once selected, one will be applied erasing all your data.
Otherwise you will see only one country code which is already applied, that means you have Single CSC.
The CSC stays till you flash a new Multi CSC that does not have selected country code, or flash new Single CSC. "
The file in the JFF firmware is a "multi CSC", and has APN settings for western European countries, including the UK. The CSC files in the JG1 firmware, are Russian and ex-Soviet settings, and that's why the phone starts in Russian. I guess it doesn't matter since you can change the language to whatever. But your country-specific apps will not be there by default, and you will have to re-install them (Voice Search for example).
The countries contained in the multiligual CSC of JFF are listed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7080300&postcount=76
And it turns out (thanks rodney.cabahug) that you can use the multilingual CSC (I9000OXXJF9) together with the code and modem files from the JG1 firmware. (the files in JG1 are newer by about 5 days - but not necessarily better, there is a possibility that the only difference is in localization). Also, if you do this, the Swype problem disappears for the JG1 firmware (presumably the swype problem lies in the russian CSC file).
XWJFF CSC file only: http://www.zshare.net/download/780481035c540e0b/

With the usual method from LeshaK? (update.zip etc?)
How are you finding it? What are the changes?
you probably need to use odin
its very easy
i used odin to flash the firmware and update.zip to root the device.
well.. it seems the same as before
think i need some more time experiencing this firmware.
no problems have found so far though.

Well first impressions on Modaco are not negative at least. But it looks like the stalling problem has not been completely eliminated...
I wonder if the GPS issues are fixed.

today i rooted my new phone using adb... easiest method ever!
and now i flashed XWJG1 using ODIN3, everything worked, but now only the phone version is displayed, not the pda or csc versions... is this normal?
under telephone info - build number it says ECLAIR.XWJG1
also all apps and accounts are still there
Edit: Now my Phone isn't rooted anymore! Titanium Backup and busybox sy that! Should I just use the adb Method again?
Protected apps are not showing up with this version.
So is it better than JFB or JF5 ?
Swype was working in German before, now it is only english. How can I change that back to german?
I feel that the GPS is somewhat better in this version and it feels a bit faster. All the swype languages are there for me.
yes, I can select all swype languages, but only the english dictionary is being loaded. all other languages get an error

I also think from reading on other forums that the OXE is the CIS countries (former soviet republics)...

No But the answer is!
I'll try to keep it short as we already have a thread on what all noticeable has changed etc.
1: Upgrade or Not as of now is more of a subjective thing. What I may find might better/worse might be completely opposite for you, as a lot of minor things have changed. Given that most will succumb to some form of an update and have to accept what is made available to them at the time, it seems like updating should be perhaps a good enough consideration, however, check your region and firmware on sammobile.
I would advise against updating unless applicable firmware version for your region ends with MI1/MI2 or above (MJ1,MJ2..,MK1, ..) (I/J/K denote build months, in this case being september/october/november resp). There are noted issues across different region with older 4.2.2 firmwares. Mainly S-pen and Magnetic cover issues (alarm) which again may or may not be of any consequence to you.
Q2:. Why didn't you get an OTA? :
2.1: Is your Device factory Stock?.
2.2: Might have to do with that samsung has not released updates for your device region yet and perhaps also look into settings if auto OTA Updates are enabled.
I have updated my Note 8 today manually because it has not been available neither via OTA nor via KIES - a quick check on SAMMOBILE shows no 4.2.2 version published for my region. Therefore I decided to push manually the latest 4.2.2 XX version (XX in the name of the ROM means that it is for Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom).
Note that it is the third 4.2.2 XX release which I hope is good enough. Samsung has released 4.2.2 versions for a few other regions too dealing with the reported problems. I am not aware of any strict schedule region by region - it means that you may wait quite long for your regional version. Therefore I replaced my XE version (Bulgaria, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Ukraine) with the available XX one.
The update went smoothly even on my encrypted Note 8 and at first glance everything is running fine, every setup and data is preserved. The first thing I noticed was the "flatter" color palette as most of the contemporary changes in the colors. I do not see change in the performance, neither the sound quality for example...
There are some minor improvements in the 4.2.2 user interface which I was missing in 4.1.2 and they were the second driver for the upgrade. The main was the sheer curiosity .
So, it is really up to you whether you will go for your manual update

Greetings, few days ago I was in China and bought GN 2014. As most of you know in China they block access to play store and install their own firmware. I already rooted my device, and was wondering how I can enable all languages, because currently, there are 3 languages. And also, How to install play market on it. I tried downloading apk. file, but its not working (Installed but won't open)
Help please. (Sorry if this question is too noobish)
I think that the device then has no Google license, making it impossible. There are only the various other stores.
This is definitely the case with exotics, like car stereos(Parrot Asteroid). In this case theres probably a solution, which of course requires root.
Why don't you try to flash with ODIN some of the official ROMs ? Then you will have no need of ROOT and will have all the languages. What is the model name exactly ?

Flashing an other stock firmware works fine I did it on mine.
But expect some little lag there wasn't on the chinese firmware.
I'm in China too and am considering buying the Note 10.1 so I'll be facing the same problem.
With a Chinese friend's Asus Transformer Prime, I flashed an official Taiwanese ROM so that she could access Google Play, but with this method you no longer get OTA updates. Also, as mickmad noted above, you can sometimes get unpredictable performance issues if you use ROMs intended for another region. Only later did I find that you could just install the necessary Google apps while keeping the original ROM. Here's a method devilfun here on XDA used for the Prime, perhaps it will work with the Note:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21094128&postcount=11
The .rar referenced was a package of Google apps, I think. I haven't checked the package myself, but note that you probably need GoogleServicesFramework.apk and Googleloginservice.apk in addition to the obvious ones. Simple_noob may have been unsuccessful for any one of several reasons:
1. The apks were copied to the wrong location before installation.
2. Not all the necessary apks were copied.
3. The necessary file permissions were not set.
If you can work it out, let us potential Note buyers in China know how you did it!
Well when i said more lag I meant that other region firmwares have all the samsung apps which tends to produce some little lag (where chinese firware has only a limited part of these samsung apps.)
Really no big deal as it will be corrected in future versions I am sure (see the example of mk1 firmware for p600)
Not sure for OTAs thought, but i never waited for them anyway on my other devices.
And just to got the samsung keyboard (and not the one for chinese which is different) it already worst the change .... plus getting rid of chinese useless apps, some settings which weren't in english even the language was set to english ... choice between almost any language ... and so on
Thanks a lot to everyone who replied and helped.

Just follow these steps :
1, Download any region / country rom from this link , preferable MJB being the latest. http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SM-P601.
2. Extract the downloaded zip file.
3. Extract the attached odin 3.09.
4. Enter download mode by pressing power+volume down , then volume up.
5. Connect your PC/Laptop to your Note , wait till the com port turns blue.
6. Flash the .tar file of the rom through "AP" & hit start.
7. Wait till flash is complete, & note restarts.
8. You now will have a working PLAY STORE.
other download links or torrents for official firmware
Great info supplied in the above posts ! I also currently have a P601 bought in China and would like to change the firmware but the rapidgator and terafile links aren't working so well for me.
Terafile now has a limit of one Gig for free users and rapidgator downloads keep failing mid way.
Does anyone have any torrent links or other download links for the official firmware?
Thanks in advance.

Hey everyone,
I realize that posts regarding CSC are a dime a dozen, I've searched through a lot but this stuff is somehow really tough to piece together. I rarely post because I normally find everything I need but here goes.
I bought my note 10+ in Slovakia from Orange. The phone's CSC is ORS/ORS,ORS/ORS, which I think is part of the OGC multi CSC. I'm guessing ORS stands for Orange Slovakia. However, I'm using a Telekom SIM card. I'm still waiting for my android 10 update, but I've noticed that Android 10 has already come out for the Telekom Note 10+. The CSC in that rom is TMS (which I think stands for Telekom Slovakia), which is a part of the ODX multi CSC . In the past I would just flash an update from another country, but from what I gather, this is somehow... riskier? nowadays.
So my question is, could I lose warranty if I were to flash that TMS rom? Or is there a possibility that it would mess something up? I figure that that's the rom that is as close to mine as possible ? but I'm not sure. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Hi, i have same Note10+ buyed from Orange Slovakia. I flashed Multi-CSC FW ROM (ORX) from samfirm, but CSC is set to default AUT. For change CSC you must buy 2 credits from samkey.
Hi Everyone,
I'm from Australia and recently bought a SM-G781B off eBay...
Turns out it was a UAE variant and Samsung Pay is all messed up.
I've flashed the phone a few times now using ODIN, trying to get the right CSC correct for Australia (G781BXXU2CUB5) for either of the following CSC's;
XSA (Generic Australia), OPS (Optus), VAU (Vodafone), or TEL (Telstra).
The issue I have is all the Stock Firmware's I've download and flashed keeps registering my CSC as XME (Malaysia)...
Phone INFO app doesn't even detect any other CSC's in the package
I've tried downloading the correct Firmware packs from the following and none gives me the correct CSC for Australia;
https://samfrew.com/
https://www.sammobile.com/
https://samfw.com/
App: Frija Firmware
Does anyone know why this is happening, or can upload/direct me to correct firmware either XSA, OPS (Optus), VAU (Vodafone), or TEL (Telstra)?
I'm totally at a loss now...
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks heaps in advance.
from what I've read recently Samsung has stopped people being able to switch as of android 11.
maybe... I stress MAYBE according to your countryman Hugh Jefferys, if there's a lower version of firmware on the same binary number you might be able to downgrade and then that might mean you can switch CSC.
this is someone who's never even tried changing CSC telling you this so your own research is obviously the only thing to put some faith in.
good luck
XSG (UAE) firmware is part of the OJM multi CSC, whereas XSA/OPS/TEL are part of the OLM multi CSC. This means that it is not possible to simply flash XSA in Odin as the multi CSCs are different, you would first have to use the combination ROM to change from OJM to OLM and then you would be able to flash any OLM CSC firmware, whether that be Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, or Thailand. I'm an Aussie myself, I got my phone from JB Hi Fi but switched it to Thailand CSC since XSA updates are horrendously slow (Samsung Pay does still work on Thailand CSC as does VoLTE/VoWiFi). For your case though, I'm afraid you are out of luck in terms of changing the multi CSC with the combination ROM, if you are on One UI 3.1 then the bootloader version is U2 whereas the combination ROM bootloader version is U1, so you would not be able to flash it anyway. Also, I tried to flash the combination ROM while my bootloader was still on U1 because I wanted to change from OLM to OXM (Romania CSC) for fastest updates, but Odin was not allowing the flash first because of "please get the approval to flash factory images (pit)" which I fixed, then "please get the approval to flash factory images (abl)" at which point I gave up. So as I said before, sorry but I don't think there's a lot you can do Unless a U2 bootloader version combination ROM is leaked which may or may not happen and you can get around the Odin not allowing you to flash it issues, the phone will unfortunately be stuck on UAE firmware (unless there are other countries part of OJM which you could switch to for faster updates).
Hopefully this helps you.

Your software version is was originally XSA, so you wouldn’t have any issues flashing it with XSA and defaulting to XSA instead of another region. The CSC will automatically default back to XSA.
Mine unfortunately defaults to Malaysia XME when flashed with XSA firmware.

From what I’ve tested, I have no issues with flashing from XSG OJM Multi to XSA OLM Multi. You can do this provided the FIrmware security number is the same as your current revision. You can’t however flash to a lower security value. See image attached.
The current firmware security value at the moment is “2” running One UI 3.1, Android 11. We can’t downgrade to any security firmware version “1” types with Android 10. If we could, then you can use multiple methods to manually change the CSC .i.e through Google Dialer or IMEI trick.
All the Firmwares at the moment are still Muti regional, unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a way to change the CSC manually even though they are Multi regional.
All XSA firmwares I’ve downloaded and flashed will keep defaulting to XME as that’s the default unless my original CSC was XSA to begin with for it to detect.
I think the only option at the moment is to use SAMKEY, unless someone comes with with a new Android 11 method...
The other option is to root the phone and ADB to change the CSC, however this would trigger and break KNOX securities.
I did check Samkeys update log and they state it’s supported now, this method wouldn’t trigger KNOX;
VERSION 3.63.9 (PLANET EARTH'S FIRST)
- Added support for G780F (Galaxy S20 FE) ALL BIT
- Added support for G781B (Galaxy S20 FE 5G) ALL BIT
- Fixed FAIL(16) on Slow PC's
- Fixed FAIL(20) on G780F
They’re actually up to VERSION 3.71.9 now.
Might be worth a try.

I can confirm SamKEY works on One UI 3.1, unfortunately it is paid but it does work. You can get an account for cheap from eBay with 1 credit on it which is all you need to do the CSC change. Using it I was able to change from XSA to THL (with no data wipe at all which really surprised me).

Trust me you wouldn't want XSA firmware anyway, the updates are terribly slow for it for the S20 FE 5G (not sure about 4G), it tends to get security patches a month after they should've came out, for example it got the March security patch in April which is pretty awful imo. I think it's the slowest CSC in general for the G781B, if you're on OLM multi CSC you're much better off switching to THL where the updates are a lot faster.

That's interesting, I didn't think it was possible to change between multi CSCs like this without the combination ROM (how you were able to switch from OJM to OLM). If you try to switch to an OXM multi CSC such as DBT or ROM from OLM multi CSC, what happens? Does it work? I'll be honest I never tried it myself but didn't have the motivation to try it anyway as I heard it wouldn't work.

I also changed to BTU to test.
I can't test for you any longer as I've returned the device for a refund. Will go buy an AUS XSA Variant.

That's very interesting, when you get the XSA variant can you try and see if you are able to flash a CSC such as ROM or DBT on the phone successfully using Odin? I would love to know if it was possible for this to work or not, I'm on THL myself after changing from XSA and did not think it was possible to switch to a different multi CSC (from OLM to OXM).

Noticed that the dialer app that was once able to record calls, is now recording only me talking, since the latest OTA updates on the stock firmware (updated to oneUI 3.1 and Android 11).
I'm also on XSG (OJM) firmware and want to change CSC to enable call recording on galaxy S20 FE 5G (model G781B).
Would love to know how can it be done.
*my software info is attached in the screenshot
thanks!

I'm sure by now you've already sorted this, but this is for future people with a need to change CSC
The SamFW FRP Tool can tell you which CSCs are available on your phone already, and can automatically have the CarrierPreConfig service trigger a CSC update. Only need to enable USB Debugging. No root, no reinstall.
But if your phone doesn't have the CSC you need already, download Frija, or another firmware download tool, you'll be able to download and install an OXM Multi CSC firmware (such as XSA, OPS, TEL or VAU), and install it via ODIN tool.
Be sure to select HOME_CSC to keep your data, and backup first.
