I am running the Allstar dev 2 ROM which is jb 4.1.2 ROM and I can't seem to get any VOIP SIP app to work. I tried the native VOIP, GrooveIP, talkatone, viber, truphone and could get the outgoing sound to work. Anybody gotten VOIP to work on any jb ROM. VOIP works fine on ICS ROM but I really want to stay on jb ROM. TIA
I am using PACman and groove IP works great. I got sick of all these JB ROMs not working so I was very happy to finally get one that worked..

I see that a requirement for Skype for Android is at least Froyo. Was wondering if Skype works with any of the Froyo ROMS that we have available. I know that they are based off of a leaked early build so maybe that functionality was leftout.
wrong answer. ignore this post
Works fine for me. I'm using Nebula but it probably works the same on all of them.

I just updated to Froyo(Frankenstein ROM) and I've been trying to get it to work. I can use the messaging, but I can't get a call to work. I can try setting up calls, but after 2, I get a two-calls already started error. I've been reading the Skype forums and it doesn't seem to be an isolated problem.
So some of you are able to make voice calls then?
Hi Guys,
I am using nikez rom JB V7 since it came out - without an issue ( I did not try the not working stuff)
I had a little problem with SIP clients that all whrer working fine on wifi but not on 3G.
I looked for a solution on google about a known issue with 4.1 & SIP clients without success
Untill I found that there is an internal SIP client on JB.
I used it and everithing is working fine.
I can make SIP calls on 3G without a problem!.
Just letting you all know
I love this forume and use it allot.
So I decided share this success with you.

My phone is straight up no ringing anymore. I have decent signal 2-3 bars in my house and the phone does not ring. I can make calls every time i attempt but every call someone tries to make goes straight to voicemail.
Wifi calling works to accept calls
Odd thing is that the phone will ring outside my house. I thought my rom was messed up so i went back to 4.0.3 stock kernel, radio and rom, just rooted.
I wish I could find a 4.0.4 completely stock, just rooted rom on here but i can't seem to see it.
Anyone have any ideas?
You strait up shouldn't talk like that and try Jedi mind trick x2 most stable Rom

i actually used odin to go back to 2.3.6 and now all my incoming calls over the cellular network and wifi work work fine. upgrading to latest firmware via Kies atm. I didn't think tinkering with the kernel and roms could result in a phone that ran like a dream and would drop calls like crazy. But i guess it can. I had tried jedi knight 3,4,5 and mind trick 9/x/x2/
Hi! I can't remember but I think there are some 4.1.2 roms with which you can make voip calls without the well know audio issue. Am I right??
Thanks

I believe no my friend, I´ve been searching and all the roms with JB have audio issues im still waiting for a stable one, been using LiteRom for a couple of months now. :good:
It's a pity, I'm going back to ics since voip calls are a real money saver for me
I was trying the Stable cm-10.1.3-l900.zip
and found its blue tooth did not work well, skype I could hear people but my mic didn't work.
And it didn't work quite right like with stock roms.
I've read about weird blue tooth issues with all of the open source roms.
Anybody have other experiences?
I mostly want it for my car blue tooth.
I've been running PA for a couple weeks now with plasma kernel. Bluetooth working just fine. Streaming music and calls.

I have had zero reports of bluetooth issues on any of my source built roms. Beanstalk is the one I call the best (most features least issues) only the camcorder does not work correctly and some users have proximity sensor issues although not all do.

most 4.4 roms have working bluetooth for calls and media. I have yet to find one that works with google voice search however.

Cool I never use google voice search anyhow, just speech to text.
Cyanogen 11 seems to work fine then since I guess that's what a lot of them are running on?
