Preasure wash seriously just wipe it down with a damp cloth

I use a micro fiber cloth and eye glass cleaning solution. ...... I wear glasses so supplies are on hand.

I use some spray stuff I got really cheap called iklean. I hate the whole "i" thing but it works really well on all electronics.

I used rainx before I got my extreme guard front/back protector. It help alot...kept most of the oils off the phone. A barely damp cloth brings back that shine.

I always use a gel case on my galaxy s yet the back cover still has scratches and sort of smudges which don't go away. It's hard to explain. How do I get rid of them? Where can I get a different range of back covers?

If you're using a case and the battery cover now has scratches, I'd probably blame the case. It could be rubbing against the battery cover and scratching it.
You can purchase battery covers on eBay. Just search! They should be fairly cheap. If you find any good ones, post the links.
Same problem here.
I have to clean up silicone case and battery cover everyday to avoid scratches.

It's probably just the material of the case, as I'm sure not everyone with a case on their phone has to worry about and deal with this.
Personally, I don't use a case and have zero scratches on my phone, screen or body.

Same here, maybe the rubber casing is getting debris inside that are eventually scratching the back?

Yep. This is exactly what's happening.
It's not just scratches though. On the pattern bit in the battery theres some sort of staining. It's hard to explain what it is. l suppose it looks like dried glue

anyone use screen protector?
I am using the screen protector and I can say that it is very first thing a man should do to the phone. It is very hard to put one, as the smallest piece of dirt (between the screen and protector) is seen as big bubble ... Order the cheapest ten pack from Ebay because you will destroy couple of them before you install it perfect.. I had those on my sgs for year, and it was scratched as hell..

I don't think it's grease because it simply does not come off. And the corners of the screen always attract dust
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I've tried using baby wipes but it didn't come off
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Well if it doesn't come off, what the heck did you put on your phone? Maybe it's a questonably cheap case and some weird plastic/rubber/alien residue from it has stained your phone? Provide pictures maybe?
Sounds strange, especially since you can't clean it off.
It looks like dried up snot lol but it isn't. I can't be the only one who also finds that the screen attracts too much dust especially in the corners and edges

I don't notice dust at all on my device, ever (unless I'm in working in a really dusty place, which happens, but I generally don't have my phone on me when I am). This could be just a geographical difference though.
Fingerprints are another story. Those are annoying. Dust, however, I don't even notice.

The Sgs screen is gorilla glass which is scratch proof so does not need a protector.
It is possible to scratch with the right tool but the pressure needed will go straight threw any protector too.

Same here
I took the cover off and scrubbed it with a little soap,no effect.
If you look closely, you can see that those places are somewhat 'eroded',like somethings eaten away at it.
Maybe moisture build up?
I just finished making this case for my N8013. I used an old hard cover book, with pages carefully cut out, a thin piece of clear plastic, from the craft store (the kind used for tables and chair covers), and a LOT of duct tape. The bottom tabs which hold the tablet are made of duct tape and the top strap is of the clear plastic. The plastic clings to the tablet giving added security. I also made the stylus-holder from duct tape. Very convenient.
It's not drop-proof, of course, but it is pretty cool.

It's held on the bottom corners by the tape and across the top by the clear plastic strip. It's secure as the plastic hold and adheres to the screen (bezel area).
Regarding the blue (?) my note is grey, but I took the pics in a room with fluorescent lighting.

So gloriously ghetto. I love it. Nothing like putting a $500 tablet in a taped up old book.
You are aware that really nice cases are available on Amazon for less than $20?

I dropped mine from about 5 feet in the air onto solid concrete. It landed directly on the back side (battery cover) and hardly marked my back casing and nothing happened to the phone at all.
No screen protector or case.

No, it cracked from about a 6 inch slide. That's the worst part about it. There's not a single mark on my phone because it was in a case when it happened. I called Samsung and they have to evaluate whether the damage was caused by me or some sort of manufacturing defect. I'm almost positive they're gonna rule against me despite how ridiculous the circumstances were.

It was just some plastic case that Target (ironically) had on clearance. I kinda regret that decision...
It mostly depend on the point of impact. If you dropped it directly at it's corner, it'll most likely crack. And I feel the screen on this phone cracks way too easily. I've dropped it once on my bed. Luckily the screen didn't crack.
I have minor scratches on my screen from I have no clue what, I've had a case on it since day one and never lay my phone on its front only on the back and it has minor but noticeable scratches. Annoying and very weak GG

My back also has some nasty scratches but are only visible in direct sunlight its probably from setting it on tables and desks in class

Very carefully. Lol jk. I like to clean the screen with microfiber cloth and wet my fingers a little with solution if you got some with it then spray both sides of the protector with solution. Then apply and with credit card move the bubbles out. Or you can go to best buy and pay ten bucks for them to do it.

When in doubt, rub it out
I'm sure that others out there have had this same problem. You love your S4 flip cover but hate how dirty it gets inside. Well I just found the solution. Rubbing alcohol! I know it sounds weird but I just tried it and it worked great. I can't take credit, I wish I could. I found an article on Life Hacker about cleaning microfiber couches with it and thought I'd give it a try. Mine was filthy and now looks way better. Any cleaning (even just water) seams to diminish the color a little, but its much better then dirty. I personally had quit using mine but now its happily back on my phone. Hope this helps someone else.
