My sister is trying to send me a picture and it shows for just a second and then disappears. Then I get a message saying from hidden sender and it says the file not found on server. It will notify me of this message repeatedly. Never had this happen. Any ideas what is causing it? Here is soem more info. I was using ChompSMS as my messenger app. I did some looking on google and I deleted all of the messages and then turned off the auto retreive of mms in chompsms. The problem still occurred. I uninstalled chomp and started using the stock app only and I am still having issues.

Well i got up this morning and it was doing the same thing again. I uninstalled chomp sms and am currently using the stock app only. It still happens intermittently with the stock app. Is it possible for this to be a server issue?

On my ol' HTC TP2, the text messages showed the time when they were sent and when they were received. Any android app that does a similar job?

i use handcent and you can longpress the message you sent and click on message details. it shows the date and time...not sure about the received times
Stock does.
GoSMS does as well. I like it because it also has a built in backup/restore function so when I see a new ROM in the Dev section and the flash-aholic in me makes me download and try it I have an easy way to put back the SMS messages which are otherwise lost in the flashing process...
Thanks for replying. I am using GoSMS and I can find out when a message was sent. This should an option you can turn on to display permanently. Stock doesn't seem to do it, unless I am not seeing an option somewhere.

I am using Go SMS pro. I have notifications turned off in default app, and on in Go SMS. I get notifications fine from standard msgs but not MMS. It worked fine up until a few days ago when i noticed that i would get an MMS but not a notification for it. So i wouldnt know that i had one until i manually checked my text list.
Any idea of what to try?
bump. anyone?

I would make sure it's not a network problem by deleting the app and making sure the stock MMS app still works. Have you tried emailing the developer of the app your problem?

I wouldn't bother emailing the dev. They are some of the worst at replying. They focus mainly on their targeted user base in china.

I'm also having this issue with AOKP 3/1/13 release. I get my sms notifications fine but MMS wont notify me at all (unless I manually go in and check my messages).

My multimedia messages aren't sending for some reason on stock rooted ROM. I've tried stock messaging and gosms pro, Tried manually entering the Mms settings, Rebooted, Force closing, Etc and nothing worked. Any help?
It's related to your prl settings update them and you should be fine.

Would this also cause texts to randomly not send? I have problems with about 1 out of 3 messages not sending. It happened with stock and now also JellyBeer.
Has Anybody been having issues with texts lately? It seems like my messages are not getting through. Maybe happens once every 10 messages.
Idk if it's my network or the rom but I think it might be the network.

I had similar problems with att settings on my phone and it was the APN settings that were off a little. Had http:/ instead of http:// for the mmsc and it wasn't downloading or sending. Not sure if you touched your APN settings but if you did double check them.
Has anyone had problems sending or receiving picture text messages? I can't receive them or send them... can someone help me.

I have problems sending and mostly receiving picture text messages using Handcent. I sent them an email. I think is how they set the APN.
Picture text messages work fine on stock message app.
Are you using stock message app? Check your APN settings for your carrier.
Note 3
no problems here with stock or gosms apps.
still running stock build, I'm on tmobile's network.
In my apt i don't get service, so the messages have the circle and are waiting to send. When i gain service it still won't send. A simple restart usually fixes for me and messages go through. Try clearing the data on messages app. Turn off phone take your sim out and put it back in and see what luck you get.

For me, 3rd party MMS apps only seem to send /receive messages after a reboot. Not sure what the problem is.

Gosms is not working for me.
Only SMS issue I have is when you open up a text from the lockscreen, you type in words and it doesn't show at all. Gotta exit out then go back into the text and it'll work.
I just started having MMS issues yesterday. I have tried uninstalling the update to Hangouts, clearing cache in the Messaging app and Hangouts, force stopping both, and clearing caches, reboots, toggling data, I can't seem to get an MMS to send or receive. Anyone else having this issue as of yesterday the 18th? It's driving me crazy!
From what I have seen this is a T-mobile problem as it has started happening with MANY phones.
I had this issue the other day. I ended up uninstalling the SMS app I was using which was Hancent and the issue went away.
I am currently using SMS Popup along with Chomp SMS and it appears to be working okay.
I love Mighty Text. Since switching to Note 3 Mighty text won't send MMS just SMS. If I try and send a photo through Mighty Text even one it previously sent through S4 it won't send just says "waiting for phone to send message".
Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks
Dan

There is a lot of chatter about 3rd party app that are not working correctly when sending picture MMS. I have not seen a solution yet. It may be because our phones are so new and the third party apps have not caught up. I have emailed Handcent, my favourite text app and have not heard back yet.
So I don't know if this will solve your problem. It may be a learning experience.
There is an app on Play Store called Tweakker. I will help build your APN by Carrier. At the end you will see the APN it set up and your default. You can compare the two. Select the one you want to use. I stayed with default after trying other options. Again I think this is a third party problem.
Here are some screen shots of Tweakker

I tried to install tweakker, but every time I run it, the app quits by itself... Any solution to this? I tried installing Handcent and making that the default for MMS, that did not help either.
