Good everyone. I have been a long time Android user and just upgraded my phone from the s3 to the Note 2. I am also a Tmobile employee. I have searched low and high for a answer to the following issue.
This really bugs me and now I am hearing customers say the same thing.
While I am on a voice call. My notifcation ringtone goes off in my ear for text messages (SMS) and also the stock email app (which I have my work email hooked up)
Is there anyway to silence my notifcation while I am in a call?
Please help and thanks again in advance for your help.

I know this may not be the best place to post this but I don't have enough posts to reply in the dev forum.
My pics hang when trying to send in a text message using stock and handcent services. Is there a way to fix this?
Also, how do you stop text messages every time I get a voicemail?
Appreciate any help in advance.
I had the same issues on that rom so I moved on. Not much else to do. As for the texts about voicemails. When you get the text long press it until the menu pops up and blacklist the 9016 and no more texts.

appreciate your response. too bad about that rom it is crazy fast and smooth. thanks for the other tip as well. the text is quite annoying.
This was an issue that was very irritating on the Nexus S, and it appears that the problem is still present in this Nexus. It seems that there is no audible alert to notify you of a text message while you are in a call. Basically if you don't just happen to check your screen then you won't see that you have a text message while you're in a call. The only other way around this is to use 3rd part text messaging software (which I really don't want to do). It would be nice if they addressed this in a future update, though I'm not hopeful they will, considering the same problem was present in the Nexus S.
I posted this issue in the google support forums. Hopefully it can get a little bit of attention.

I have not received mine yet, but the galaxy s 2 has a setting to change this. I don't know if the nexus has this also, but ill share just in case.
Settings>Call>Call Alerts>Alerts on call
Let me know if the settings menu is the same.

No, this setting does not exist in the Galaxy Nexus. I've posted this on the Google Support forum, the more people that post on it, perhaps the sooner Google will get this rectified.
The OP is correct, noticed it myself. Im not sure how i feel about it yet, just wanted to point out that it doesnt alert.

Well I know how I felt about it when I had been on the phone for an hour with my lady and I just happened to want to send someone a message, and I picked up my phone to notice I had a text message that had been there for about 45 minutes that was regarding some money.....I wasn't thrilled about it lol. The same issue was present on the Nexus S and I had to use Handcent so that I could have audible text messages during calls. I don't really want to do that again, as I actually like sms client in ICS. Hopefully Google makes the change if we make sure they know about it, hence the support post in the google forums I linked to.
Hey all. I am updated to the new JB update on my galaxy s3 i747 on SaskTel. And i have had a few issues with receiving sms. I am getting all my messages, but some received texts have the wrong time stamp and are ordered incorrectly. I sometimes ask a question, and when they reply to that question, it will appear before my sent text, with a time difference of a few minutes. Anyone know what could be causing this, or how i can fix it? it is rather annoying. thanks!
Same problem here. Same phone with Jelly Bean on SaskTel.
Example:
I send my brother asking a question. My brother replies but his message shows above my message, appearing like he sent his answer before I sent the question. Really frustrating.
Those time stamps are provided by the network, so there's not much you can do to address it.
My brother has a SGS2 on the same network and the same conversation is in order on his phone.

Just a thought - do you have the messaging app set to use sent timestamps or received timestamps? It's possible only one or the other of those is wrong.
For reasons I cannot determine, my Note 2 will stop receiving phone calls and texts.
Callers will here my phone ring on their end, but my Note 2 will not ring. Text messages will not come through either.
Making a call from my phone or rebooting will fix the problem; 20 missed texts will come at once and the phone will ring again.
The problem is, 1) that it happens at all, and 2) there is no indication when it does happen.
At&t has reset my network and exchanged the sim card, to no avail.
Has anyone else run into this problem?
Thanks!
Just asking, you say stock phone, but are you using the stock messaging app?

I am using Handcent. I considered that could be the issue, but would that affect the phone calls also?

I had to dump handset, it was messing up stuff for me. Went back to stock messaging, will just have to find a pop up add on for it.

Then I will give that a try.
Thank you Astom.

This the 5th possible hancent issue that I've read about. I'm gonna collage everything into an email to hancent and see if they respond.

Also screws up Avast, at least that's what Avast states during setup.

I was having this issue on stock for two different reasons. 1) I disabled the at&t messaging app in the manage applications menu area. 2) I had a bad sim card.
Now I think issue number one was also because of issue number 2 because after the new sim card I had no problems disabling the at&t messaging app. The whole problem is you won't know unless you are sending yourself test messages form another phone. Good luck.
I forgot the other thing it was doing with the bad sim was not allowing me to use the internet while on a phone call, it was completely dropping data on a phone call so no text messages either.
Does anyone have any idea why all of a sudden my brand new note 4 with bell will not receive texts or phones calls?.
If you call the phone it rings twice then goes to voicemail but doesn't show up on the phone that a call has come to it.. all of a sudden there is a voice mail. . If the phone is rebooted eventually the text messages come through all once.. if anyone could help shed some light on this problem it would be greatly appreciated.. thank you..
