Hi,
I don't if this is the right place to post this, if not, I'm sorry.
I just started developing for Android and I want to download and display a specific file from a Webserver.
I followed this "tutorial":
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/...-and-showing-the-progress-in-a-progressdialog
If you look at the first answer, scroll down to "DownloadManager"
Now, there you see a function, that tells you wether the DownloadManager ist available or not.
On my Galaxy Note II it returns "false", and when I try to use the manager, the app crashes.
I'm wondering why this is the case, the Note II should have the DownloadManager class, because it uses Android 4.2.*
Can anyone help me out with that?
Note 2 is not running 4.2. However are you sure that this class has just been added to 4.2?

Hi,
Thanks for your answer, it seems that I have asked a question that no one can solve, I must be a genius...
No, that class has been added since GingerBread, as it is stated in Big Black Bold Font on the site, right in the title...
This is why I'm wondering,...

Sorry if I offensive someone... But on my 'old' HD2 with Android I was able to use and install "Daily Breast Quest" I used Android for a short time on my HD2. I flashed it with something else (wp7).
Now I have waited several weeks on the delivery of the Samsung Galaxy S2. Finally I have it, one of the apps I was waiting for was this one. Somehow it is'n available on the Markter. I have Content Filtering set to "Show all apps" it switches back automatically to "High maturity"
Anyhow, still no luck with finding the APP. Is their someone who has the APK file ? Has it something to do with the 2.3. version on the Samsung Galaxy S2.
The website http://www.playboy.nl/daily-breast-quest mentions a QR code :
It leads to market://details?id=com.mediabunker.android.playboy.dailybreastquest
-- EDIT --
No one who can help me with the apk ?
I have it for you. Let me know how to send it to you.
BTW, I don't get new breasts for 4 days now. Same thing with all my friends. I don't get it...
Haha...
What is this app anyway??

I find the concept very interesting as once it loaded to the phone anyone with ok HTML knowledge would be able to change and tweek bits.
however i think the ui is always going to be limited, and is aimed at very basic phones at the moment (although the demoed an s2 running it) and is due to be launched in south america first.

Looks promissing, hope some dev will look into it. I'd like to see b2g fully working on my GN.
@Jijonhyuni where did you find the source? because my quick googling session linked me to mozilla's b2g site, but they have said: "you dont have permissions to see source ". HELP plz.
This looks promising, any guides for starters out there on how to get on this?
MrBIMC & simarpreet007,
Writes to replace it with Google Translate. We are sorry.

Hi,
there is an other dev already working on B2G for Galaxy Nexus.
Check out this thread:

Perhaps you can work together to get everything up and running ?
Greetings.

I've seen some specs that say it supports bluetooth MAP profile, and some specs that omit it. The Samsung spec sheet doesn't seem to list it (at least not the one I've found). Before I buy this phone, I want to make sure the text messaging will work with my Ford Sync system which requires MAP profile to convey the text messages.

I'll test it tomorrow and let your know. I know it didn't work on the GSIII.

Sounds good. Also, let me know what Sync hardware system & S/W version you have. From the research I've been doing, it makes a big difference. FYI - there are a lot of people who have gotten their Galaxy SIII bluetooth MAP profile working with Sync. Try the method posted by "arlinto" on 10/22 about half way down the thread.

MAP works
MAP works beautifully in my '11 Ford Edge (MFT/SYNC) with the NOTE II

I'll have to check that out. I couldn't get the text message to work with SYNC and my Note II. I have a 2011 Ford Fusion. Not sure how to find hardware/software version in the SYNC. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
*EDIT* OK, so I read the androidcentral link you sent me and I have the basic Ford SYNC. I'm going to try what they suggested and see if I can get it work that way. I'll post findings tomorrow.

I'm very interested to see if this method works. I think it is for the Sony w/ Navigation version of the hardware. At least my interface matches the steps.

I spent a good 10 mins dicking around with my SYNC and Note II. I don't have a MAP profile setting so I couldn't do it that way, nor could I find any other way. So, I'm guessing if you just have the basic SYNC system it won't work. Again that is just a guess, I haven't done much research on this whole thing however. Anyway, hope this helped some and if not sorry. I hope someone can shed more light on this for you.

Thanks for trying. My buddy works at Sprint so I might just have him bring me a Note 2 to test out before I go and buy it.
Good idea. Hope it works out for you.

Bluetooth MAP. app that helps
Hello everybody,
For Bluetooth MAP you can check this app from VAiPho "Bluetooth Launcher" that also has interesting functionalities for Samsung users,
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vaipho.bluetooth.launcher
Cheers!

Hi there and welcome.
The way I learned was to just use the phone as much as I could and learn from doing. Just explore really. But there are a lot of tutorial blogs and videos.
With your question, do you mean change homescreen icons?
If yes, go to the play store and download a home launcher. I use apex launcher because it has a lot of features.

Everybody knows the missing auto corrections in the recent N7100 ROMs. It appeared that someone in the Sprint forum found out how to activate the auto corrections again and there already are working apks for different Note II versions here on the board, but still no solution for the international (GSM) version. In the original thread someone has already posted the original SamsungIME, so it is "just" that someone has to manage it I´m sure that this is an easy task for someone who knows how to do such things - I would thank everyone so much when he or she could take a closer look on it!
Here is the manual, short and easy http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2093588
Thanks for the link.
I just added the feature to N7100 Samsung Keyboard based on the guide.
