I don't quite understand why 3D graphics in custom rom is better? I mean, it is better obviously... But what did the developers do, to make it better. Because i'm trying to make myself a ROM, so i was thinking on how to make it better like the custom ROMs. Any suggestions or help?

I normally stick to stock with root but I always want more speed and apparently people are getting better benchmarks with custom roms.
Not a big fan of custom so I don't dabble too much, but in your opinion which is fastest?
I don't want any delays or have to deal with any crutch in a rom D:
The custom ROMs are hitting higher quadrant scores because of the Overclock kernel they use. CyanogenMod is already set up to over clock up to 1497MHz. Personally I prefer CyanogenMod because it always has a lot of features great support and is updated pretty regularly. The other popular ROM is Virtuous which features HTC Sense. Which I am not a fan of so I didn't use the ROM long enough to see how it performs against CM. Best option? Try out both. Just back up your existing ROM with ROM Manager before you wipe data and cache and flash the new ROM. Both the CM thread and Virtuous thread have instructions on how to get you up and running.
Well you better start dabbling if you want a faster phone! You can start by dabbling with custom OC kernels. That way you can stay stock. I would also recomend Cyanogen to keep a stock feel with all the speed bonus.

In my opinion,
I've tried both HTC Sense & Cyanogenmod obviously stock Froyo is fastest, but as far as custom rom's, go i've noticed Sense is faster than Cyanogen. Although the latest build of cyanogen let's me o.c to over 1.5GHZ. I currently switch back & forth between the 2. Both have their up's & down's.
Hi, I am looking for a ROM that is stable and faster than stock. What ROM would be the best for this? I haven't really tried ROMs since I last put Cyanogenmod on my CDMA HTC Hero, so I don't have the best idea of what's out there and what works. I also searched "performance ROM" just to make sure this hadn't been asked recently.
I'm running TWRP and the latest SuperSU, if that matters.

There won't be a faster Rom. What you can try is flash a kernel that supports overclocking. Although, imho, you won't be blown away by the increased performance, it's all marginal.
Stock Rom is already very fast. Other Roms will also be very fast. It's usually a matter of options that the custom Roms offer. You can tweak more. But will they have a noticeable performance improvement, I think not. YMMV obviously

Ah, thank you. I had such a massive performance jump from 1.6 to 2.2 and then 2.2 to 2.3 Cyanogenmod on my Hero that I thought I might get something similar out of a custom ROM again.

Simply make a Nandroid of your current Rom and experiment like crazy
If you find a custom Rom that blows you away: keep using it. If you don't find any advantages or worse: restore Nandroid :good:
Custom ROM makes only sense if you want special functions / features of a specific ROM.
Many special features can also be activated in stock ROM by apps like Xposed, GMD apps etc.
So most probably a custom ROM is unnecessary. Just look for a good kernel (Franco, Elementalx, Faux...) if you want added performance, battery life or filesystem support.
Hello, so thinking having a custom ROM again on my HTC one m8. I've used to used then on KitKat days but when I went to stock I feel my experience was more stable then custom ROM and faster. It still the same on Sense7 ARHD compared to stock? I Read that ARHD has more features like GPU CPU memory optimizations but are these ROM faster then stock? Just asking from any one who experienced this.
Experiences with performance and stability are always going to vary greatly from one person to another based on individual usage patterns, settings, etc. Many folks here probably won't even agree that on KK the performance on stock ROM was "better". Not to say you are "wrong" for your specific case. But just to make the point, that individual experiences will always vary widely.
So its probably best you just flash the ROM, and find out for yourself. You would have already determined the answer for yourself by now; rather than waiting for others to tell you opinions that might not even apply to you. Just be sure to make a nandroid of your stock ROM, and you can easily revert if you don't like the ROM you've flashed.
Also, be aware that if you are currently still running KK, you will need to update your firmware to run Lollipop ARHD.
Thanks, forgot to mention that I'm running newest loli stock.
Since it has 512 ram. Does flashing a custom Rom makes it better than stock 6.31
I looking for stable Rom. And trying to ditch stock.. but Rom speed its important..
can you help with. Telling Wich roms work fast.... cm10 -11-12
I know the best Rom question just want to know wich cm work the best.
Hello friends. I am on MIUI 10.2 . I just want to ask if it is better to change to a custom rom? or there are no much differences between stock rom and custom roms?
If you prefer switching to custom roms, just give your reasons, and if you prefer stock rom, mention why stock rom is better
I would also like to know the answer. Currently I'm on Masik 1.5, but its becoming a little bit sluggish. I want to know if custom roms have full screen gestures like in MIUI and if the camera quality is compared to stock.
Are you from the future? There is no MIUI 10.2 ?
So far the best ROM is stock one. Custom have lots of problems and bugs. You wont find any perfect custom rom. There wil bel always some problems.
I've tried Pie ROMs, for now MIUI is enough, pretty stable and with a lot of features, our device is supported from Xiaomi, maybe a custom ROM will be a good idea after 1/2 years (in my opinion)
