which case?

I know it's a personal preference. I would like to know your recommendation on cases. I would like to protect my Captivate from hard accidental drops.

Since you have, or are getting, is that case rubbery? Hoping to find one that slides in and out of pocket easily..

+1 to the Otterbox commuter. I have the bodyglove, the amzer argyle tpu and a silicone ebay special... The Otterbox is my favorite overall. The plastic piece that snaps on over the silicone skin makes it pretty smooth in and out of the jeans pocket...

I currently have the bodyglove case and like it enough to wait till the defender case comes out. I really want the defender case. Can't go wrong with otterbox either way though.

Galaxy Note Case compatible with Flip Cover

I have the Samsung's Flip Cover which I like, but the corners are not protected at all.
I was trying to find a TPU back cover that is compatible with this Flip Cover without making any modifications to either the Flip Cover nor the TPU case.
Any luck anyone?

you'll need to modify one or the other.
just cut a bit off the side of tpu case. the folding part of the flip case doesnt exactly go corner to corner so you can still leave enough protection for the corners.

here's one ive modified for my device.
the friction of the tpu gel case means it doesnt slide, meaning i can use the flip cover as a stand. it still offers sufficient protection for the corners and for the display.

this one is one that i am buying now. also made of the same material, but has a matt finish so it doesnt attract fingerprints and grease.

Qubits Snap-on Case

This is the Qubits Snap-On case for the GSM Galaxy Nexus.
This does not fit the Verizon LTE version.
It is very similar to the Incipio Feather and the Case-Mate Barely There.

The case fits perfectly and is very snug. The case has a rubberized coating on the inside and outside of the case. There is a small lip on the front of the device for minimal lay-on-the-table design. The side edges are very smooth, but the top and bottom edges are a tiny bit rough. It isn't uncomfortable, and I don't really mind. With this design, the top and bottom are halfway exposed, but comparing with the Feather, it does cover more. The case is fairly thin, but not as thin as the Feather. Basically, this just gives me more grip to hold the phone.
It is only $8.90 with prime shipping, a great value IMO.
BTW I have a skinomi screen protector on at the moment, but will be applying XO Skins very soon.

I got it for only around $5 from Amazon. But after one or two days of usage I found it too slippery. I'm waiting for mesh case they provide more grip IMO

That one is for the Note, not S3.

First several users are ebay sellers making fake accounts to pawn off their goods...whole thread is totally bogus

As much as this case is my favourite because of gaming/watching reasons, i really don't like using them. It just kills our phones beautiful design.

Slim Bumper Similar to iPhone 4/4s

Has anyone found a slim bumper similar to the iPhone 4 for the nexus 5? I'm looking for something that can cover the edges and overlap slightly on the front and back. The front and back otherwise would be exposed. Aluminum, tpu, poly carbonate would work.

I used this one in colbalt blue. It's a little raised on the front, not at the back since the Nexus 5 itself is curved. Overall, it offers good protection and does feel slim. However, it doesn't play well with my tempered glass screen protector or my dbrand bumper skins. If you have a back skin the bumper will still fit fine.

That ones pretty nice -- just don't like the joint thing on corner.
I was planning on doing normal screen protector, bumper around the edges, and a skin on the back.
