Google Talk with Video on stock based 2.3.6 ROM - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Hi,
I need Google Talk video features on my father's Galaxy W with stock based rom.
As far as I know Samsung didn't release a ICS 4.0 rom for Galaxy W. So if we want stock features the most update version is 2.3.6.
In fact on 2.3.6 video features on Google Talk is supported but on this phone it doesn't show up.
How can we add video talk features on Google Talk ?
thx.

is it so impossible ?
please help...

try install Google+ from playstore, this apps included G+ Messenger and I hope it will have a fully functional for video features

I know Google+ but not all of my contacts use it.
However Google Talk is used by most of the people.
any solutions with GTalk ?

Any more ideas ?

Tweaks that you like to See in MIUI..!!

Hi All,
Currently, I'm using MIUI as my ROM, but seriously miss some of the great features of HTC sense.
Below is the list of features that i think should be included in MIUI ROM's.
1) Sense Contacts app and Dial-er -- I think that is the best dial-er till date as you can link all the contacts and the best part is Facebook sync.
2) Beats/SRS/Dolby Audio
3) Pre Installed Google apps like, Gmail, Maps, Search and busybox.
Which feature would be YOUR favorite to see recreated to the MIUI ROM?

[Q] Voice calling for Google Talk

I am running Cyanogenmod 7.2 Stable, no further mods, on my HTC Desire Z.
I came across this thread: http://www.androidng.com/install-google-talk-video-audio-any-android-gingerbread-phone but given that it seems to apply to older 2.3.3 ROMs and not the current 2.3.7 ROM (CM7.2) I am unsure about whether I should flash that app.
Anyone know if the app in that link will work on CM7.2? If not where can I find one that works?
I don't need the video calling to work (since the DZ doesn't even have a front camera), just the voice calling. Thanks in advance.
I tried using google voice through talkatone (amazing program uses google voice over the data channel not the voice channel) on mimicry v1.5.0 and it didn't work. Something about the kernel not supporting some sort of streaming thingie. Running blackice now and it runs amazingly well.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I am not trying to use Google Voice. I am talking about the Google Talk app that is mostly used to do instant messaging chat (similar to Whatsapp, BBM, iMessage). The Nexus devices on stock ROMs have the additional capability of voice and video calling built into the Google Talk app - bringing its capabilities to that of Skype. But non-Nexus devices don't have this, plus CyanogenMod 7.2's own Google Talk app lacks it. I don't need to use it to make calls to real phone numbers, I just want to, say, call my sister while she is logged into Gmail on her laptop. And yes, I know about Skype, but I don't like using it on a different device or computer other than my main PC due to its super annoying feature of constantly syncing my text chat history every time I log in.
To rephrase my question: Is the Google Talk apk linked in my OP suitable for flashing onto my DZ and then using for voice calls? If not, where can I get a suitable Google Talk apk?
Sorry misread the post (never read and drive) but if I am not mistaken it uses the same backend. Guess I will have to try it myself and see what happens.

I think you are looking for gapps-gb-20110828-newtalk-signed.zip
Just flash it over CM7.2 through recovery (don’t forget to make nandroid backup before flashing ).

[Q] Where is my old Facebook app?

Hello! When I had my KF with the stock rom I downloaded the facebook app for it and it was a different one (and a better one too) than the facebook app available on google play after I flashed a custom rom with Jelly Bean. The app with the stock rom had the cover photo feature and I had a tab at the profiles with the photos and friends buttons. But that's not happening anymore after I flashed a custom rom! I've tried with many different versions of the fb app but I always got that horrible mobile version of facebook! What can I do? There is any special version to get back the cover and the tabs feature?
Thank you guys!

[Q] Newly rooted S4, how to get built apps again

I just recently used the CyanogenMod to root my T-Mobile S4 and I just realized that I lost the navigation and S Voice features that were originally on it. Is there any good alternatives or a way to restore these features? Or even create a new ROM to switch between? I'm fairly new at this.

Can you not download Google Maps from Play Store? As for S-Voice I think it's a Touchwiz thing that also need other dependencies files to make it work. You could just try Google Now from Play Store to see if it work.

No there's no S-Voice but I think there's a voice search features. I haven't used CM ROM but I do believed S-Voice work only on TWz base ROM.
I could be wrong on that. Hopefully someone can verify.
If you're looking for a lot of the cooked-in "bloat" from samsung, you need a touchwiz based ROM as other users have suggested. You'll find a lot of those in the Android Development section of the forum. If they are touchwiz based, it'll say so in the original post. Be aware that AOSP and google play editions of kit kat are not going to have the Samsung apps like S Voice. Some developers strip out all of the TW apps for a cleaner experience and have a separate zip for all of those removed apps to flash if you want to add them back in. As to whether or not you can flash those apps and have them work appropriately in CM, you'll have to ask someone else. If you're really wanting those apps and aren't dedicated to CM, consider just switching ROMs - you may be happier with a different one. Don't be afraid to flash different ROMs to try out. Just make a backup with Titanium backup or a nandroid so that you'll still have all of your data.
You can download s voice if you look for s voice apk on Google.

[Q] SGH-M919 stock apps .apks to use on CyanogenMod

Hey does anyone have the stock apks for the galaxy s4?. I recently got CyanogenMod but I hate its gallery, video player, and its phone dialer. Everything else is great but if anyone can give me the original samasumg apps for these apks and how to install Them. Please help
Here is a forum discussing this:
http://android.stackexchange.com/qu...anufacturers-apps-on-vanilla-roms-on-galaxy-s
The short answer is some apks will install and others won't.
You can get the apks easily by typing (for example s voice apk) into Google.
None of which you listed will work on CM or AOSP based roms. Theres very few that will work at all. Watch on I believe will work, and a very few select others. Apps like Phone, contacts, camera, gallery, etc etc that are actual part of the system, unlike watchon which is more of a 3rd party add on, will not work outside of touchwiz
