In the cm10 beta 2, is the low battery notification led supposed to be on by default? If so, is there a way to disable it? It was under display settings in cm9 but I have been unable to find it in 10.

I too have been wondering the same thing
I have it in: Display > Battery LED on CM10
(btw, I have an Atrix. Maybe your CM10 release is too old?)
That's how it was in cm9 beta 1.

Isn't there supposed to be a led or the pulse light on when the phone is on charge?

I don't why but that app won't work on my phone. I am using AOSP (I compiled from scratch) with google apps and root, nothing else. Does anyone else have any issues? I find these LED apps are hit and miss.

Last thing I want is a bright LED blinking when I'm trying to sleep. The LED is for notifications. If it blinks when charging, how would you know when you got a message?

By the color of the LED light of course.
It has an option to dim for sleeping.
I use it sometimes.

Light flow is the best for LED control IMO. It has a sleep mode that allows you to turn off LED notifications between whatever times you want and you can set notifications for most everything you need.

With Light Flow you can set the LED to stay on without blinking. And it will slowly cycle through other colors for any notifications you have besides the charging/charged notification. Also, you can tell a notification turn off after a certain amount of time
For instance, I have my charging indicator set to be a light green -- then when fully charged it switches to a dark green for 30 minutes, then shut off. So if I'm charging it overnight, I won't see the charging notification in the morning -- but I will see any other notifications since I tell everything else to stay on indefinitely.
You can also set the notifications for charging to be low priority. When a higher priority notification comes in, such as SMS or missed calls, the LED will stop blinking the colour of the charging indicator and only blink the higher priority notification instead.

I'm running AOKP right now, and no matter what I do I can't get the soft keys to light up (this was a problem when I was still using CM7 last week). I tried editing light levels in the settings, did a full wipe before flashing AOKP, then tried the auto brightness toggle I had seen somewhere, but nothing worked. Any other suggestions?

Hmm the auto brightness toggle is what fixes it for me

No luck with that here, haven't seen any other fixes though, I'm thinking that the lights just died on me. Oh well, as long as the buttons still work.

Is there anyway to make the led notification light work with the screen on? I have light flow, idk if there's anyway to modify it

I'm actually curious about this too...
AOKP has this feature of you're desperate

with the paid for version of LightFlow, you can do that. it can be set to keep the LED on till you go screen on, manual clear, or app entered for a given LED alert.
Does the Gnex have an LED notification light? I have yet to see one.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Sure does. Its below the display. RGB too.

The notification light in Gnex is one of my favourite options in the phone. Some ROMs provide full customization of the notification light ( ex. Paranoid android) . I've set it to flash blue for missed calls , yellow for SMS, green for whatsapp and red for tango
It only lights up when the screen is off?

Correct

When I first got it I actually did not know that it had a LED notification light. I got a phone call and noticed the light and I was amazed and I immediately loved my phone more

The rom has to support it, and you have to manually set it up...
I installed light flow. That's how I found it. I'm running Affinity rom and have not seen it work before. Maybe the rom doesn't support it.

Lightflow has been really flaky for me (misses many notification events). The built-in settings in CM10 works best. I don't recall it missing anything.

Except for receiving a phone call . It lights when the screen is off or on. That's at least what my phone does with PA rom
I love how I makes it pulse when I charge my phone.

If I have helped you.... hit that sexy thanks button. ^_^
Yup, didn't know there was one also. I got the point of thinking... maybe the VZW version just doesn't have one :crying:
And then it happened...:victory::victory::victory::victory::victory::victory::victory::victory::victory::victory:
Galaxy Nexus + LightFlow has been a great combination for me. The RGB LED notification is a must for me with any future phones.
is a full on Rom the only way to customize it? Only thing id really like to see, is for it to pulse a bit faster. The length in time it takes to pulse is too long imo. I could turn the phone on an look faster than it would take for me to stare at that point and see if there is a message.
use lightflow.

Must have been something with the Affinity rom. I loaded CNA and it works as its supposed to, plus its customizable.

Is there a way to turn down how bright the LED's are for notifications? I just updated from stock to CM 10.2 and the LED notification lights are a lot brighter, and a different color. It's so bright that when I'm charging my phone at night the light really bugs me. I liked the old blue light from teh stock set up much better.
I looked around and also searched but didn't see anything on this.
Thanks,
CF
What about using the Quiet Hours setting to disable the LED altogether during certain hours?

I have it set to turn off the ringer. If it does the LED's too I totally missed it. Will check that out.
"Disable Notification Light" is the bottom option.
