[Q] Becoming a DEV?

I want to become a dev and start participating in making roms. Are there any guides/tutorials on how to do that? I tried Google but nothing very usable.

Make a start by using dsixda kitchen and extracting firmware

I want to be a dev too... and guess what... xD I just finished my first continued ROM... Like in android development there is like... BeautySense v2... I have made v3 For now i just changed to cm 7.2 phiexz with old libaudio included... with s2e and a2sd working, changed bootanimation, last kernel of phiexz... more smother... but i want to improve theme... it is a bit laggy...
Learned how to change build prop... updater scrip, etc...
I really want to post this ROM in android development and i want to do more versions of that rom really
I think that is a start for me

you may help me with improving speed or something, but I dont allow you to publish my rom(beatysense),without permission with another bootanim, kernel, old libs and some speed optimizes...
you can assist me or just keep it for yourself, but not take credit without having permission.

you may help me in beatysense development.
the part of making such thing as starter is a bit hard, as it requires some skill...
try taking a rom as base that is a
ready stock but .zip flashable
and modify that to your liking, but keep it for yourself, and test with features like adding new apps, superuser, themes on your own rom without publishing etc, so you will get better at it.

Thank you so much... But now its another big problem xDD... stock kernel... i think its a little hard to find ... no... or i can just like... use another custo kernel like from phiexz or something ?

Custom kernels made for stock based will work
Use latest PX-kernel from phiexz.com , the stock version ofcourse

Has the dev of the rom you want to port given his permission?
I'm only asking, because I've seen in the "Atomic GB" thread, that you have written to port XtremeSilencer's rom without his permission. So he certainly will report you if you port w/o permission to mods!
Here is what I'm talking about!

not able to download from mega. Mirrors plwase

stuck after reboot or shutdown
After install this rom (base rom and update 1) + setup everything + running around without any problem (wifi, bluetooth, RIL, google sync work as expected)
Long press power button to Reboot/Shutdown -> phone freeze at MI logo, sorry I cannot provide any log cause adb didn't worked
I tried reflash (wipe everythings with CWM and it boot again) then reboot/shutdown again -> same freeze problem @[email protected]

Thanks man, this is my daily rom now, and its near perfect, has good battery life too!

Thread has been removed and the user Removed as well. While I normally dont Agree with the MIUI admins I can see why they banned him. Not only did he try to get by our GPL rules he decided to re-start his swearing here which all of you know I will not tolerate.

So your answer is to have the thread taken down instead of letting it get fixed? That's the way things go with a brand new device. Things get broken, things get fixed. If you're not prepared to deal with the early quirks then wait until the stable stuff comes out. Nobody is forcing you to root/flash.
Let the mods worry about what threads should be or should not be. Pipe down unless you have something positive to contribute to the development.

Dude r u for real? Jaguar Dev made a nice tutorial how to upgrade baseband (if u really need cuz updating it make no difference at all, perhaps if ur having random FC or no signal), I suggest again to use search function.
