no worries, im buying brand new p3300 in few weeks and keeping the one i have for spares and to test new roms.. i wont be needing the spare cover and no point in selling half a cover is there.lol
sticking with p3300 till this forum dies!
no link for beer yet.. just owe me a favour dude
add me to messenger if you want..
to get back cover off:
*take off battery cover and take out battery..
*unscrew the 4 screws..
*now it just unclips..
(ill post images tomorrow) - you wont need them but ill still upload
honestly, its easier to use your nail to unclip it, you wont even need the tool, the tool is just something that they supply to make you think your getting more for your money
to get oval silver plastic thing off the back cover
use a stanley blade.. be carefull, the silver plastic can snap easily.. trust me lol if you turn the cover over (inside out) there are two holes it clips into, id **** about with them first so ya dont snap it.. after that just get the blade and ease it off.. glue it onto the new cover or doublesided tape.. piece of piss but ill post images tomorrow so what im saying makes some sort of sence

Check it out. Made it with some sold scrap metal I had around the shop. I will get more pics when I put some spray on it.
Here it is all finished. The bolts make it so I can tilt the phone more forward or back by loosening or tightening the jam nuts. Comes in handy when watching video. I put some VW lug covers on the head of the bolts to protect the case of the phone. Not bad for a days work.
Sweet!

Awesome lol, you people come up with some ghetto sh** for a $500 phone though
as a fellow auto tech i have to say good friggin job LOL. thats something i was looking to do with a box for the blue shop towels. i already made a ghetto ass subwoofer with one beats pretty well for a pc speaker LOL
Work must be slow....intuitive though.....

wouldnt really consider that ghetto. have you seen the ****ers around here using the cardboard box the phone came in? or the guys using paperclips?
he could probably market this to iphone owners as some industrial steampunk phone stand, get "Made for iPhone" stamped on the box and sell these for $200 all day long.

You know, I was thinking the same thing. Im going to make another for my touch pro 2. I will post pics asap.
What case is that on the phone? I just ordered a Vibrant (it'll be here tomorrow. Can't wait!) and I'm looking for a good case to put it in. That one looks pretty nice. I was a bit disappointed to find that Otterbox doesn't make a case for the Vibrant.

Its just a rubber case from the T-mobile store. I got it when I got the phone. It was only like $15 and it fits real nice.

love to see it. i'm a car guy too. buddy of mine made some lamps out of old cams, cranks and turbine housings from some shot turbos he had in his garage.
i like to see stuff like this. lots of people dont have an open enough mind to figure stuff like this out.
Nice Job. Money tight? I hear ya.
New Dock
This is my new one, for my touch pro2. Same basic design as the first, but a little rougher around the edges. It also fits my vibrant really well. I think Im going to play around with fiberglass and see what I come up with. I did body work for awhile, and I can sling mud with the best of them.

enjoy =)
**** i needa pick up a pair of these!
DOTS gloves work great also
How well do these gloves fit for a person with large hands?
How about us south of the border?
Anyone know where to get something like this in the States?
Ordered! Thanks for the heads up!
Maybe try contacting the company directly to see if they'll ship to you? I don't see why they wouldn't.
ebay has them for 20 i believe
Just don't get these.. they don't work.

I got some Isotoner touchsmart gloves at wallyworld for $12, and they work great.
Another thing you can do is buy some conductive thread and sew the fingertips of gloves you already have.

Ah damn it, I missed it! I could really use a pair of one of these.. It's so damn cold right now lol
To those who don't mind a funny-looking cheap fix - I found that a bit of foil works on touchscreens (I ended up using the wrapper from a roll of Halls cough drops), so I basically just taped it to the inner liner of my snowboarding gloves. Worked really well for me - looked a little funny but they're on my inner liner so it didn't matter to me.
I put these pieces together to make a sweet Wii Controller to go. It gets a little heavy, but it's balanced well. Check it out.

That was a pretty slick idea man! I may have to build my own rig for myself now. Thanks for the idea, props!

It was really easy too. The only hard part was super gluing everything together.
Ok, so you have inspired me, I went out n bought the classic pro controller, and I LOVE your idea of the slide in behind holster for the motion controller, I might have to build up something similar, but without the part for the phone itself.
Im gonna keep looking to see if there is something for the pro controller and post back.
Thanks for the idea!
Simply amazing. This looks like a great portable solution.
Looks awesome, but has to weigh a ton! I can see getting fatigued pretty quickly if you're not resting the controller on something while playing.

Nicely done! i'm going to have to build myself one of those when i get some extra cash.
Question for you, like the commenter on your video asked, how did you get that effect when turning off the phone? (the old tube-tv style scrunch and power-off)

Use a Gingerbread-based ROM (he mentions he is using Ultimate Droid 3.1).
Very cool. I like the idea.
Just found this on Kickstarter. Looks cool.

iCelsius Wireless
you can also see the iCelsius Wireless on Kickstarter, they have a BBQ probe
haha its a nice accessory
Haha! Awesome!
Looks pretty awesome. The only thing I would worry about is the cable length. It would need to be at least 30" or so to keep your phone safe from the heat of the grill!
Guess this one isn't happening. At least not through Kickstarter.
good for cooking
Whoops, just accidentally grilled my ipad
