nova 3 not compatible - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I thought i would give it ago, but it's saying my device is not compatible when i install it and try and start it, but when i was on stock it works now im on gin2jellybean it's not working, could it be the rom?

Are you using stock 240 dpi? If not, that's the cause

Hi, sorry to be rude, but i don't understand, do you mean stock gingerbread?
is it something to do with change screen density is it safe to do?
or be best to revert back to stock for all my games to play?
Installing dpi density of fhe market says i am currentky on 240 dpi, even stock rom 2.3.4 GB says it's not compatible, strange!
thanks

Hm, that is strange then. You're at the right density it seems, but I'm not sure what else could be the problem

I figured out the problem was an older version the update fixed, sorry and thanks for your help

[REQ] DioPen Chinese IME.apk for Samsung Galaxy Ace

Hi,
I recently flashed my device from the Asian firmware to European firmware. After flashing, i realized that the DioPen Chinese IME is not available as it was available in my device when I first bought it. Is there anyway that I can re-install the input again into the device.
I had try using many 3rd party application in the market, but none of them satisfied me yet. If there is the way to re-install the DioPen Chinese IME, I would be happy..
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.
Im not sure if this will work for you but here, I've extracted DioPenChineseIME.apk from a DXKPB stock firmware. I think you can install it just like a regular app.
Hope it helps.

I am able to install it, but i believe that is some missing file due to the keyboard is not popping up after enabling. Instead it crashed, and enter the "force closed" mode..
Maybe you can't install it like a regular app. By which I have no idea myself how to. The app in the market works well too though, tried before since I used em before

The economist app not compatible with ICS 4.0.3 FC15 ?

I love this magazine and I'm paid subscriber, and I last night I upgraded my custom ROM to ICS 4.0.3 and I'm getting 'this app is not compatible with this device' error.
I have a SG2 running a custom rom.
Any pointers?
Thanks guys!
Where are you getting the error message? From market download?
Usually, most of the apps are running well on ICS. So, if you have an app already downloaded or backed up, try to install the app using backup.
If you don't have any backup, only the way would be going back to previous rom and download the app, backup and coming back to ICS. Try install the app from backup.
My one more question is, did you change the lcd density?

Thanks for your reply.
I tried installing this app by clicking directly on their website, which in turn sent me to the android market and at the top it says 'this app is not compatible with your device'
Unfortunlally I didn't back up any apps.
And no, I didn't change the lcs density, to be honest I dont even know how to do it, lol.
should I actually be doing that?
Is this a mobile echnomist lite?
I was able to download from my ICS FC15 Rom.
[update] never mind. I found the app also from their website and linked to google market.
It seems like only the way would be going back to GB (if you were able to download from there), and save the app. Then comes back to FC15 again to manually install the app.
Ohhh that's a pain in the a.......
maybe I could download the apk from a a website and try it that way?
I DO not recommend but if you can, that would be easiest way until ICS is formally supported.
For me, it worked like a charm in that way.
Now I'm removing the app from my phone.
I have the file, I think it will work for anyone that did not the backup
here it is
edit, I have to have more than 10 post to share a link, I post it on the economist forum ...
Come on Economist!
You would think for $100 a year they could provide a recent app. Think they got their heads shoved up their ipads.
I used airdroid to download the apk from my phone and then upload it back to the new tablet, worked like a charm. However, the app IS laggy with jellybean, definitely something needs fixing, scrolling is very jerky.

Settings/App(Google Play)/Clear Data/clear Cache/Clear Defaults then when you go to Play Store and sign in again it should work. This is how I always clear the not compatible error.

[HELP REQUEST] Launcher & Music Player Widget

Hi, thanks for reading...
I have two problems that I think are related to the stock launcher:
One of the desks of the launcher shows a black shadow instead of a green shadow whenever I try to put a widget or icon in that place. I can't put anything there and it's a full row.
The Music Player Widget cannot be added because the launcher says "Widget already added" over and over.
I already have tried clering the data from the launcher; even tried factory reset but didn't work.
Note: I'm using a brand new Xperia Play with 2.3.3 and .145 stock ROM, not rooted. Everything is like new, but I have these issues.
Any help would be aprecciated. Thanks in advance...
Thats an odd problem never heard of it before... Why don't you try this... Get the Xperia s launcher from themes and apps section and install that...it will ask u to replace system app just say ok...it might work give it a try
Edit: here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1515644

[Q] Upgrade to higher dpi after root

Hello!
I finally decided to root my phone in order to install the latest 4.1.2 Stock ROM.
I would prefer to not move to a custom ROM, as it seems none is perfect... while the stock for me works wonderfully.
The only thing I still miss is a better resolution (280 or 240dpi) as I had on my great Note1.
What should I do? (is there just a simple apk for this change or should I need a more complicate procedure?) What would I miss changing dpi?
At the end... is it advisable? Other opinion regarding that?
Thank you very much!
Search here for xposed framework.

Look in th themes and apps section - there is a thread with modded tw launcher, dialer, camera etc for multi dpi's. Use rom toolbox to charge your dpi. Works great

Can I get it even without moving from Stock rom?
Sorry for easy questions...
Hi,
I used
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...iwiY29tLmpydW1teS5saWJlcnR5LnRvb2xib3hwcm8iXQ..
and its worked fine on all versions of Samsung stock roms for note2 (up to latest polish 4.1.2 i think)
much better with tiny icons...
cheers
g
Dont need pro - can use Lite version. But seriously, these questions you're asking suggest you haven't done much research. Messing around with your build. prop can lead to problems with your rom which can be hard to recover from if you do not know what you are doing. I would read read read until you know the answers yourself.

Had the same problem on my gnex with PA 3.99 RC2, for me it was a problem with the DPI settings. If I remember correctly Slimbean came with a altered DPI setting out of the box. Maybe you can fiddle with that, I know it worked for me

Yes, set it to the stock dpi for gnex, 320 I believe. Then you should be good.

You also need to keep the navbar size on default...
Gesendet von meinem Galaxy Nexus mit Tapatalk
to get around it and keep the dpi that you want, you could install xposed framework and use the Play Store Fixes module from the downloads section in framework installer, and set it to fake 320 dpi and no restrictions path. i use it on carbon rom with a dpi of 260 and never have a play store issue, including themer beta.
OR you can try a different rom. Dont get me wrong I like slimbean but, Im just saying
I like how the op says themer beta doesn't work at all but he's using a custom rom like slimbeam, really...., you should say it doesn't work on slimbeam instead of blaming the app, works flawless on stock 4.3 even for a beta.
