Does it heat up??? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I'm getting mine next week and I'm just wondering if it gets hot when multitasking and using a lot?
My galaxy nexus gets so hot and that's one feature I need or would like lol just not burning my hands or face lol.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

it does get pretty warm when playing games like need for speed most wanted but it doesnt get as hot as the htc one X

Okay cool but on regular stuff its fine
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Been using mine for the past few hours and no heat yet. Havent really played any graphic intrnse games though.

Okay good I don't if either of you had the galaxy nexus but it can get up to like 115f
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Mine got really hot just by sitting in my pocket. Any idea why?
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2

Idk. I use mine literally all day and it never gets hot. It gets slightly warm when charging though
from my Galaxy Note 2 using Tapatalk 2

Mine will warm up for a little while right after I flash a rom, but that's about it.

Mine does that too from time to time but it's usually after I put it in my pocket after moderate-heavy usage. Not a big deal though

Dude, that's absolutely normal. The screen is basically the biggest power consumer. My screen takes usually around 60%. It all depends how you use your phone... If you let it sit around and don't use it for over a day, you'll notice your battery accounts for a smaller percentage of overall battery consumption. If you spend over 4 hours browsing the web non-stop, the phone will run out of juice in that time period, and your screen will probably show its taking up something close to 80 percent. Which makes sense...

Great dev support, but the gps was pretty weak and the keyboard skipped on every stock rom which is just pitiful of Samsung to have never completely fixed.
S2 was good but they took out the audience sound processor and dedicated gps chip in the sprint version, otherwise was great. However battery life went way downhill after the move to ICS base. Also the vibrating camera module is like wtf?
Got my S3 today and it seems really solid hardware wise. I think Sammy finally got it all right this time around (fingers crossed). Only problem I've seen around here is cracked glass from 2" drop onto carpet (ok, exaggerated) so I hope that holds up for me. Also I notice the screen has a blue cast when viewed at an angle, and can appear slightly washed out with text on certain backgrounds.

The new blackberry Z10 or Note 2 now?

I use to be the guy walking around with my cool blackberry and use their unified social settings.
Now, I have one line that can be used for upgrading. (plus loyalty discount on all the new phones + 2 year contract)
My dad wants the note 2. And I have the note 2.
Should I use my upgrade towards the new blackberry or get the nexus 4? Or keep the note 2. And why?
I Just wanna hear from different people's perspectives on this situation.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
if you are getting bored of note 2 then try something else new and tell your dad to use your note 2
Well at the end of the day its your decision to make...but with that said...I would say check the Z10 out thoroughly because its new territory and app support and etc... The lg nexus 4 is a beautiful device but you'd be giving up memory card support... Yea I would do a check list as far what you need it for and what features you can and cannot live without ...

The app world is horrific, you will have a hard time adjusting. I would wait for the next gen of BlackBerry to pick up a device.

To be honest, on my playbook, the os is superb, using bezel gestures as opposed to buttons is awesome. Android didn't catch up until jelly bean ( 4.2 project butter surpasses it) If BlackBerry can get the app support, and a phone with a decent screen, I would think about it, but for sure not the first generation of bb10. I would have to wait to see if the app world catches up. And for them to debug it. Love my note 2 and nexus 4 too much.

My Choice
My Epic 4G died a few days ago and I had an upgrade. I chose the Note 2 over the S4. Battery life, bigger screen (to make up for the loss of my keyboard) and SPen plus other things that I cant put into words sold me. I used both side by side and just loved the Note2. When we get 4.2.2 I think that will make the note 2 even more awesome...IMHO. Now I have TWRP on it and trying out ROMs...Loving the Note 2. :good:

I don't think the megapixels have much to do with low light as the quality of the sensor itself and f.stop and aperture. I'd much rather a lower MP with better sensor and F.stop than all the megapixels in the world.
But i get your point nonetheless.

I don't know celicus well, being in US, but I checked mine, it's at 28.5. The screen is hardly ever warm, but when it's hot outside in southern California, it's screen does get warn but only about 100 degrees ( don't know what that is in celicus) the reason I got this phone over the HTC droid DNA, was in the store, the DNA was hot just playing the demo mode and under the bright lights, note 2 was cool. I just posted in the Jedi forum in regards to your question. My phone peaks to 70 when overclocked and gps / wifi / full screen brightness is going. This even as high as it is, is well within specs. The throttle temp is 85 from what ive found on the Exynos 4412, and hardware shut off is at 113.
