Why is maps and gallery using battery? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I usually charge my phone to 100% just before I go to bed and unplug it. The first few days I had it I would wake up and it would be 97 - 99%.
Recently it's a bit lower, usually low 90s. I noticed that high up in the battery usage was the gallery, which really surprised me.
So the next night before I went to bed I made sure that the gallery was not running. It was not.
When I woke up I had the following stats. I don't understand why?
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

}

You can't really say Gallery is using a lot of battery when you're just leaving your phone idle. That's such an insignificant amount of battery. Check better battery stats though to see if Maps or Gallery is waking your phone.

I normally use quick pic over any stock gallery app but for some reason when you use the camera and click on a thumb after taking a pic and you dont have the gallery app installed nothing will happen where as on my previous phones it would default to quick pic.

Battery monitor history shows negatives after 100%?

So last night I installed battery monitor and savaged kernal. I'm running miui. I thought I read somewhere that if u go into history once ur battery hits 100% and see negatives its actually not full. But I thought this kernal would fix that(maybe it just takes couple days). So ya i took a screen shot of my history from this morning when it hit 100%.

So by those stats its not actually full right? Or is bc there are also some positive numbers after.
Sorry I just charge my battery all night and can't unplugg it right when it gets too 100. Thanks

I would assume that the negative numbers means it is at 100% and begins to drain the battery
Thanks. Anyone else can confirm this? And help with a fix

T-Mobile WiFi calling battery life

i've been using T-Mobile WiFi calling for a few weeks now, and for the most part battery life seems good, maybe even better than without.
However, last night it sucked 30%+ of my battery with a partial wakelock overnight without me even touching my phone. Anybody seen this before or have an idea on how to keep it from doing this?
Oddly enough, under Better Battery Stats, it's listed as AlarmScheduledService, but just to make it clear I had no alarms scheduled. Under Android's native battery usage display, it first showed up as *wakelock* before resolving into IMS Service.

[Q] Phone seems to be heating even on idle

Hey guys there seems to be some sort of a problem with my phone now.
It has never happened before.
I realised that my phone was pretty hot last night, even on idle! It's as if it's running a Tegra game or something. And the battery goes down at a rate of about 50% in 3 hours.
I checked the task manager and couldn't find anything that is fishy.
What else can I do?
Thanks in advance

Took this screen shots after I charged the phone to full, lock its screen, and went to bed. Got up 3 hours later and saw those
It's happening again: http://db.tt/NFKuvmd8
Anyone had any idea what seems to be the problem?
Thanks

can you tell us more about what you did during your use of the battery. i can get like 40hrs of standby out of my stock battery with a kernel flashed. but more like 24 hours with 3 hours of screen time
Well i started the day at the golf course so i didn't use it very much, then i got home and played a bunch of youtube videos, a few movies on it, browsing, and a few calls, i was actually trying o run down the battery to try and get a full charge tonight, also that was with bluetooth/wifi on all day.

Media drains battery when full charged

When I finish my full-charge, my phone shows these stats somehow

This screen shows stats of only that time, when phone is being used on battery, if I am not mistaken..

Yeah but still, this wasn't happening before, and why is the main process the media, what's it doing and why is it using my battery even more than the screen. those are the questions.

You can just terminate the process under apps -> running apps.

14 minutes is quite a short time, most likely it was the media scanner service, which checks for new music files (maybe photos and videos as well).
Well, what about these ones? Almost the same as screen lol
And, no option to forcekill
.. :l
