[Q] Xperia S crash after bootanimation - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hey guys I can't get into the recovery mode, and I really don't know why
what I've done:
rooted my phone with: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
unlocked bootloader with: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
installed busybox installer with the apk on google play
and installed cwm with: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1773227
followed this tut: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756346
the things I've tried to get into the recovery:
Hold down Power and Volume+ till the blue light flashed up for a second > failed
Tapped the screen while the Sony Loadin Screen > failed
in Busybox installer went to scripts and clicked on reboot into recovery > failed
with notification toggle: clicked on reboot into recovery > failed
Android Terminal Emulator: su reboot recovery > failed
Using
- LT26i (Xperia S)
- Android 4.0.4
- Stock ROM 6.1.A.2.45
edit: tried this tut: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756346
didn't work somehow tried it another 3 times and then tapped the sony logo now it worked
edit2: after getting cwm to work and installing a new rom it simply crashes after the booanimation and I get this in CWM:
E: can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: can't mount /cache/recovery/log/
etc etc
I am also unable to open ums lunfile (no such file or director)E: unable to open
(so I also can't mount the usb storage)
any idea how to save my phone?

[Q] Odd error - in RECOVERY - execute update.zip or not?

So I grabbed the OTA ZIP file that was posted here - THANK YOU by the way.
I boot into recovery and I am presented with the following :
Android System Recovery (2e)
the usual 4 menu options for Reboot, Apply sdcard:Update.zip, Wipe data and wipe cache.
I get an error on the recovery screen that says :
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/command
Can i still run the update? This is a relatively stock Incredible (Rooted, S-Off then unrooted.
Thx
Ron
I got that same error, pretty sure it just has to do with the 4 recovery commands your seeing right now. It probably just recreates that file once you see the commands. I went ahead and flashed the update.zip. I got other errors as it was flashing, but I don't they're linked.

[Q] MIUI Defy stuck on Moto screen

Hey everyone, I am having some issues.
I had MIUI up and running for about a day but the Android market wouldn't work, I found the proper .zip and decided to flash it. I loaded up the clockwork apk and rebooted it...no here is where my problem begins. It didnt load up to the loader, it just got stuck at the red moto screen. Also I used the one click rooting program to root it.
I have so far tried the following:
Cahce Wipe
Data Wipe
Re-Installing MIUI (says that the signature cant be verified).
Also I get the following at the Android System Recovery
E: Cant mount CACHE:recovery/command
E: Cant mount CACHE: recovery/caller
E: Cant mount CACHE: recovery/log
Any ideas? Im a bit of a newb and would like to get the phone running (its my alarm clock lol)
Flash Froyo with RSDLite and then flash with the CWM the MIUI ROM
what is installed in your phone ?
type to install Cmiui its one of the good ROM i am using same
i have installed 2.1 but you install 1.8 or 2.0 its working fine.
here is the link of that ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1268997
download --> go to recovery mod --> wipe data and cache --> install zip from SD card --> select zip and wait for some mins and your phone will start cmiui

cheat.

CWM errors
Hi,
Thanks for the great instructions! I followed them precisely but as I boot to the recovery mode (power+T) I get the following errors nor any commands work in CWM. I even tried to flash the CWM with ODIN again.
CWM-based recovery v.5.0.2.7
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/Command
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
Please note that I had a stock Samsung Galaxy GT-I5510 with Android 2.3.6. So I have not rooted my phone in any way. Should I? How can I do it? Thank you for your support!
P.S. As I will get the CWM Recovery to work I will flash CyanogenMod 10.2.

You want to put SD card with CyanogenMod 10.2 and gapps to your phone, then choose option install wipe data/factory reset, install zip from SD card and choose .zip file containing CyanogenMod 10.2, and then install gapps and restart the phone.
Phone doesn't reboot
Hi,
I hope anybody reads this.
I downloaded the .tar.md5 files and proceeded with the instructions.
Though Odin tells me that it's flashing the telephone this is the last message of the log "<1> Close serial port and wait until rebooting."
And nothing happens afterwards. I can only see that the phone switches on again, but the screen stays dark.
Can you help me with anything? I already spent hours because i just tried to get a custom recovery on the phone because I couldn't install CyanogenMod from the SD card.

Which version of odin are you using?
Hi,
It's 4.43
I also started it as administrator and tried different USB-Ports.
What does the .ops file contain? Some register adresses?

Try odin 4.34.
.ops file contains partition table of your phone.
So first I flashed the stock firmware back again to be safe that at least it's still working. That was successful.
Ok I forgot to install the GB bootloader, I didn't mention this. But from the links of the first page none is working anymore.
Can you provide me one?
Also now I can't get into the stock recovery anymore with "T + Power".

[Q] Unable to install Cyanogenmod as custom Rom with CWM

Hi folks,
I'm a fairphone 1 1st edition (repartitioned with 1.6 update) owner and i have been eagerly waiting for cyanogenmod for quite a while. I saw this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2615613 and followed the installation instructions.
Procedure:
1) [Install MTK 6589 driver][1]
2) Install + Open up [MTK Droid Root & Tools v. 2.5.3][2]
3) Root phone in MTK Droid Root & Tools
4) Backup phone with MTK Droid Root & Tools
5) Download [Recovery Image][3] (KitKat) and follow [installation instructions][4]:
a) copy the recovery to the device: adb push cwm-fp1-kk.0.1.img /storage/sdcard1
b) adb into device: adb shell
c) flash to recovery: dd if=/storage/sdcard1/cwm-fp1-kk.0.1.img of=/dev/recovery
6) Reboot into Recovery with [Rom Manager 6.6.3.7 ][5]
7) Select [zip file][6] from sd card and install
Error message: Can't install this package on top of incompatible data. Please try another package or run a factory reset. E: Error in /storage/sdcard1/cm-11_FP1-ota-UNOFFICIAL-FULLOFBUGS-0.1.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
I also deleted the assert line in the updater-script file and updated the zip file, as during the installation Error Status 7 showed up (see this [site][7]).
Still installation aborts, this time no error message is given. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I had the same error message try first formatting the system partition.
I think that you need to "wipe data" in cwm before flashing when you install for the first time.
