Hello. I was just wondering if anyone else has found it annoying that the notification sounds still play even while I'm playing music?! Even worse, it actually pauses the music for like a second! What gives? Is there a way to change this behavior (aside from, of course, manually putting the phone on SILENT).
I made a Tasker profile putting my phone on silent whenever the headset is plugged. Any way to do this for when I'm playing music through the phone speakers?
i was thinking the same thing the other day, how annoying it is when it pauses to set off the notification! there must be a way to stop it!
using google play music?

I have been looking for a method to play music over my car stereo while on the phone with my bluetooth. Basically I need a method to chose where audio from phones plays. any ideas?
probably that's not possible, at least i don't know any way. when answer/making a call it just turns off the music
It does pause the music but if you hit play I be live it will play the music and the call. I just need a method to select the out put location independently.
I hang up on people who dont turn their music off while I am trying to talk to them. Just saying.

Lol, yeah. I don't understand why you would want to listen to music while you're talking to someone..?
Regardless, I don't think there's a (easy) solution to this.
You guy's remember the early 90s when people would play music while recording a beeper message? This reminds me of it
Tasker, in the google play store
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
I notice that when i'm playing music and a notification comes in.... my music abruptly stops and has some static sound while the notification sound plays and then my music resumes again..... to be honest... it's pretty pathetic.... especially the static that's associated....
Can any developer actually come up with a dimming effect or a concurrent audio playing?
I remember that audio couldn't be played in parallel in the early 90s... but surely someone must have found a way to fix this by now? anyone?

They consider it as a feature. Android in general handels playing audio simultaneously pretty well. You can for example play music through the music.app and play audio through a piano app.

This annoys me as well. Used to be perfect on my Desire with CM7

Would love a solution to this.
This depends totally on the player, at least that's how I always experienced it.
At any rate, I'm using IceCold AOKP combined with Google Play Music - (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.music&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5nb29nbGUuYW5kcm9pZC5tdXNpYyJd) , and notifications only dim music, as you would expected.
Ok say my previous phones were both Nexus devices, when I listen to music and sound is on it would lower the music volume and play the notification sound. Now on my Galaxy S3 when it comes in it completely cuts out and this is VERY annoying for an avid music listener. Is there a way to fix this?
I've seen online I can use power AMP and I will be good but I would like to use the Samsung Music Player.
I also know I can set it to vibrate to stop the sound from going off but the thing is, I like hearing the sound I just hate it completely cutting out the music. Any ideas would be useful!
Hi everyone!
Got some weird issues with my Google play music. I'm on Android MM, and every time I start listening to music, and i put my phone into my pocket, after a few mins(it's pretty random) the music stops playing until I move my phone or turn the screen on, press one of the buttons. Did someone encounterd this bug also? Or is there a way to fix it? It's getting pretty annoying.
Whenever I get in my car and my bluetooth connects, google play music just starts playing whatever was last on on Google Music App. I'm a spotify user and would like to change the default from Google to Spotify. I can't seem to find a way to stop Google music from playing by default. It's very annoying. Works great if you use Google music, but otherwise, annoying.
Anyone having this issue? Anyone have a fix?
AFAIK there isn't a way to prevent media autoplay when connecting to (certain?) car stereos.
Interestingly enough, I don't think that the behavior is actually specific to GPM. I usually listen to podcasts in the car rather than music, and as long as the phone hasn't rebooted or GPM hasn't been used since Pocket Casts was playing, my podcast resumes when I get back in the car usually even if the notification has been closed. It may be the the Spotify app is missing some hook that allows it to take advantage of this feature, but I don't believe we have any way of affecting it directly.
BRO. This **** happened to me for like a week straight and I was getting pretty angry. I made the mistake of asking Google Assistant to play a song for me ONCE and every time I connected to a bluetooth device (usually my car) it started playing the song from where it left off. I don't know what I did to make it stop to be honest, so I'm not much of a help but I can confirm this is a very annoying issue.
I did NOT, however, uninstall Google Music, Disable it, or touch the app in any capacity. There's no option to prevent it from autoplaying, either. I might've let the song play out, but I'm afraid to open the app again to take a look.
