Hi all, New to the note 2 coming from an s3. My question is when I used to dock my s3 it would display a desktop clock and I dont seem to see that feature except for a docking app.
Is there a way to show a clock while it charging?
Never mind, I found it...

Hi, Just got the Samsung Epic Touch 4G and the Dock. When the phone is plugged into the Dock, a dock app pops up. For the life of me I don't see this app listed under my list of apps. Can someone please tell me what it is called/where to find it? I would like to uninstall it. Thanks
It's the desk clock, it's in the clock app
Thanks,
Thats what I figured. But, was not sure, as when I opened the clock app it looks different. So must be part of the clock app that only shows up when docked.
Remember you have Dock options in "Settings" for playing through external speakers. I want to grab a dock myself.

yes, I seen that also. As matter fact.. I had the checked. You don't want it checked unless your really playing through external speakers. This morning my alarm never sounded, and that was why.
Hey I found his nice app for displaying missed called, email and text message notifications on the lock screen somewhat like the iphone. It's setup as a live wall paper to show notifications in the background, that way you don't need to change our your original lockscreen.

can someone post the apk, it says that my nexus 7 is not supported for some reason.
The app is pretty good but I notice the home screen lags just a bit with it enabled.

I had major lag with this. Might need a 4.2 update before it runs right. Great app tho.

Wow, I love it as a lock screen widget! Thanks!

Same here. Too much lag to use.
Trying to figure out how to make the widget show on the main screen (under the clock) like in your image. Can't see a setting that does it... anyone else figure that out?

That's a screenshot of WidgetLocker, not the stock lockscreen.
Why does Google do such weird things all the time? I know other people have to think the same thing about why they design an OS the way they do. For instance clicking the clock in the status bar takes u to time settings instead of clock or calendar(when we all have auto time enabled)? And I'm pretty sure(at least I hope) its a bug, but the stupid new camera rotation is beyond dumb. And why they took the so much fun camera effects out, I may never know... I do love Google but just question their Dev team sometimes... sometimes a lot
But that is why we have these wonderful devs across the forums. I can't thank you guys/gals enough!!!!

I have to ask, why would you need to click on a clock to take you to another clock?

LOL Maybe he means alarm settings which is inside clock app

The slow camera rotation is intentional. The Android Dev team spoke about it. As for camera effects, I don't know how many people actually used them. Sure, Mac users seem to use them quite a bit, but I don't know about Android users.

Yea I meant alarms.. Lol. Or even clock app would be smart
Why on EARTH would u want camera lag when changing the phone orientation... Then u end up missing Ur shot!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
The rotation lag doesn't bug me too much. It usually takes a second or less to rotate. I usually know what orientation I want my picture to be, so I'll press the camera app in that orientation.

Just lock rotation when you want to use your camera, if you are using a rom with toggle rotation it wont be that hard to press a toggle.
I personally always disabled rotation, and only enabled it when i want to use it.

Another thing that bothers me is app drawer. the black background is still stuck in the Gingerbread era.
If I lock rotation to to a pic in landscape its going to take the picture in portrait but I guess u could just rotate it in the gallery... But still useless as fuhk. I'd rather deal with the lag of swiping to my pictures than the actual camera itself... Come one Google... You're better than this... Back to 4.1 camera I am

IMO the black background is nice to quickly identify icons. U know u can always use third party launchers to change that..

Can Pls anybody explain to me how daydream works? I selected run when charger connected but when will it run now? Do I just hav to put phone in standby or what? Thanks in advance
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Which options did you choose to run? Like for instance the clock is hardly visible. But to answer your question daydream will start when you connect the charger.
Side note: it slowed down my charge time big-time taking way longer to charge when running daydream.

Why cant they make something like nokia's lockscreen clock that has notifications for received messages and missed calls...
that thing barely uses any battery even when it is always there...at least on nokia's phones that is.

I think he means, like, as a daydream. Dash clock doesn't have a daydream addon. But to answer your question, the purpose of using daydream while charging is so your screen with degrade faster so you'll buy a new phone.
My brother has this weird feature (he has an S4 too) that my phone doesn't do.
So if you look at the photo below, he's holding down an app on his home screen but what's so different between my s4 and his is that when he tilts his phone left or right it switches to that direction. For an example, he can tilt it to the right to move an app to a home screen that is on the right (like the next page) .
This isn't normal because my friends and my S4 doesn't do this and we can't find the option in the settings

I think that feature its called air move. I think it only works in the TouchWiz launcher.

Standard feature for touchwiz since the galaxy s2 on t-mobile.
You just have to enable the option. Same is you zoom into a picture put a finger on the image and move the phone around you can pan through the image...
Read the manual in the box... something no one ever does.
<3
By tilting? That's not the air move. I don't see the tilt option either. Turning on the pan photos setting doesn't do it.
Seems like it would be a combination of Smart Scroll (allows device tilting to move) and and Air Gesture...but I can't repeat it. Weird....
It's the tilting features, but for the life of me I can't find the setting for it.

That's not it, that's for scrolling thru the browser. I remember the tilting setting was under motions on my s3 along with the zoom on pictures and zoom on the browser. But I don't see it on my s4

This is exactly the issue I'm experiencing, it's no where to be found in the settings and it gets really annoying

Guys, It's not air gestures, air gestures you SWIPE your hand on the sensor, and it's NOT smart scroll. I swear I remember seeing the setting under motions on my s3 but it's not anywhere on my s4

So, do you have any S4 with that function?
I only found the tilt to zoom image setting on Setting --> My device --> Motions and gestures --> Motion --> Tilt --> Zoom.
I cannot find the tilt to switch page. May be it's replaced by air gesture.
