flash stock rom on doky post...
we dont need bootloader
WARNING
playing with bootloader can (hard) brick your device. if you need stock rom, just install the one from Doky73's thread. he have very good reason to not include bootloader.

Download from the link v5 (v7 dies not install properly)and install app, then open app and install cwm into system.
To enter recovery press the back key when you see Sony logo, it might be vol button or just try every button until you find which works on your phone

For some custom roms you need to flash kernels via fastboot and for this you need unlocked bootloader.
if bootloader it's locked use Google and search there is official way to unlock but you will lose warranty and drm.

First flash any kernel you want instructions will be given from where you will download like doomkernel it has inbuit recovery. Reboot into recovery choose your rom
Wipe system, chache, dalvik chache install zip from sd card
Dont flash ics rom over gb kernel or gb rom over ics kernel or it will cause bootloop

Read the instructions. These threads just highlight why there should be a time limit for new members before they're allowed to post.

Considering you already have flashtool and your desired kernel follow this :
1) Plug in your phone in fastboot mode [S-Off, hold menu key and plug in to PC]
2) Place you .img on your desktop
3) Open up flashtool, select fastboot mode and select flash kernel and select it from the desktop
4) Once kernel is flashed un plug your device restart it open up CWM and flash desired ROM.
Hopefully i helped you out

You need to unlock your bootloader. Root is not needed at all.

Yes root is not required so tell what exact error you are getting and first confirm that you have adb drivers installed

But my previous phone were sony ericsson and to install custom roms I needed to unlock bootloader, and no such thing is mentioned for the note 2. Doomlord is working on that to make one for us. Right now there is no way for those who has Locked Bootloader to get CWM (including me). So we just can wait. If u want something to install, maybe u can just copy it straight away to system and change the permission.

In my case, when i installed CWM @ locked bootloader .55 FW, the CWM didn't work properly. So I suggest you to unlock bootloader & flash doomkernel which is pre loaded with CWM and TWRP.

Pushing the files to the system and changing the permissions is hectic than flashing through recovery. If any error happens it can result in unexpected accidents.
You can unlock the boot loader (u will lose bravia engine) and flash a custom kernel using flash tool.
In the development section you can find some cool kernels with build-in recovery.
If You don't want to unlock , then wait for someone to make a recovery for phones with locked boot loaders.

Wrong place. But here you go.
1.No restart option. if you need you need to flash a MOD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2404042
2.Use PCC or SUS, you will be back to stock, if thats what you mean. I dono if there is something called stock recovery.
3. Power+volume down
4. No issues here but there are some who are facing that problem.Try a repair using PCC or SUS http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2413444
5.No issues again. but some are facing,
6. Root doomlord prefexploit V18 this is for C6503, no difference again, tested in C6502 you may use your own stock kernel from 423 for the same instead http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2388946

Check under the SIM/SDCARD cover, there's an 'OFF' button. I bet that's the reset.
