So ive got a few questions and issues and wonder if there is any way around them??
i have rogers s3 loaded with cm 10 m 2
1. how do i change the pictures to store on the sd card i keep going through the apps and camera section and there isnt an option?
2. am i the only person who gets sent videos that do not play(this is sent via mms)
3. i now have an external sd card..are there any recommendations on what i should back up on there??
4. any other roms people recommend? i think the cm 10 is awesome but how does the rooted stock rom work? should i just delete bloat ware and try that out for the sake of battery life??
also why when i check my downloads nothing shows up there:S?
1. the vanilla camera app does not let you change the save location of pictures and videos. you would have to download a third party app from the Play Store.
2. i don't get too many MMSs, so i can't say.
3. i put anything that is copied from a computer onto my Micro SD card. like music, videos, documents, etc.
4. AOKP build 5 is pretty cool if you like the stock look of CM10. but if you want the TouchWiz look, i've only tried the 2 ROMs offered by DrewGaren- JellyBean747 and Serenity.

So here my question / issue / frustration.
I currently run Skyraider 2.5.2 (both flavors).
I flip flop back and forth between vanilla and sense, however i find myself as of late falling in love with vanilla, however i have one MAJOR issue with ALL vanilla roms at this point. Every Vanilla ROM has the sense stuff removed (good), but this also includes the HTC music app ( not to be confused at all with the Android music app), the problem with removing the HTC music app is that, unless some one can point me in a different direction, the HTC app appears to be the only music app capable of reading music off of the phones internal storage (to clarify i can navigate to songs individually i.e. using Astro and play them that way, but come on who the hell wants to have to manually select each song, doesn't that defeat the purpose of having a music player in the first place). Now before this goes in all kids of directions please let me be clear on a few items:
1) At the moment i cant afford a larger SD card than the 2gb that the phone comes with so moving my music to the SD card is not an option (See item #2)
2) I have more than 2gb of music that i have on my phone.
I would like to know:
A) Is there a music player out there that doesn't have it's head up it's ass, and can actually read the internal storage as well (this should be a goddamn given for Christ sake. (P.S. I have tried every major music player in the market.... NONE of them (at least the ones that i have found) will read the phones internal storage.
B) Can the HTC music app be used on a vanilla ROM? If so then could the ROM authors making vanilla roms PLEASE stop removing it given that is seems to be the only app out there that actually logically works, or can i just pull the HTC .apk from a sense ROM and push it to a vanilla ROM.
Thank you all for your time.

You do realize that the incredible is pretty much the first and only phone to even have an internal storage right? cus that being the case, no devs creating 3rd party music apps will even give it a thought or make it priority. even our own devs putting out vanilla roms cant quite figure out how to get apps to read the storage properly most of the time. youre making it sound like this internal storage has been around since the invention of android...
to answer your questions, htc music app cant be used outside a full sense rom and to my knowledge there are no 3rd party apps that read internal storage yet.
if it makes you that upset, you should just shell out the 20 bucks for a 16GB micro...
First and only Android phone maybe to have large internal storage. Def. not first phone overall though.
I have been sifting through the source for the stock music app, but I have not yet found a way to add internal storage support.
considering the Droid X and Droid 2 have internal storage, hopefully some devs will wake up.
Okay so ultimately i am spoiled then I was not under the understanding that this type of functionality was that large of an issue seemed kind of common sense to me.
Well then i guess i'll just have to find an suitable alternative then.
P.S. where are you finding a 16gb sd for $20.00 i can't find anything even close to that price in my area.
Fyi, mixzing has the option to play music from either internal or sd card just not both simultaneously as the htc one does. One note though, if you use last.fm scrobbling this doesn't work off internal storage for some reason.

You can try this. I pulled it from the Droid 2 dump. Deodexed and signed.
Mort player works for me.

Search it up on Amazon
I've found that Amazon has some of the best prices for memory cards.

Good evening all and happy holidays to all.
Was wondering if anyone had the latest apk/zip for the 4.2 camera that supports photoshphere. I have the original one where we had to edit build.prop and arbitrarily it is being picky. I have heard pf a new one but didn't see it.
Thanks for any and all direction.
Doubt it has changed since this was put out but I have this from a guy in the evo 3d forum that I don't know where it came from also this works for me fine on tasks latest aokp also seems dev-host is down right now and I'm not at home with a computer to post this somewhere else
http://d-h.st/Mm6 this is a flashable zip I flashed it and freeze it when its not in use as it messes with the 4.1 camera settings like can't save to SD card really the only one I have found

Good man. Thank you
If you can I would freeze the 4.1 camera or just remove it completely to that just remove/freeze the gallery apk if you try to use the 4.2 camera while there both enabled it will freeze the phone for a second crash the camera and you will have to reboot to use it again

I recently upgraded to jellybam and noticed it was missing almost everything that I
needed to function with on a day to day basis and this is okay, except for some things.
I already looked allover XDA about this and noticed there really is not much on the topic
so I feel help is needed at this point.
What I am wondering the most is where is the video player...?
Also, the camera layout on jellybean sucks, is there anyway to change this?
Any help is appreciated!! Thank you
Well i guess the rom comes with lesser apps than a rom would from the factory. As for a video player i have super video and i'm sure theres a few other good ones. About the camera layout, i don't think you can change that.
Edit: And i am also running jellybam.
Did you update to a custom rom, or did you update through kies. Either way, when you updated you could have restored your phone through google and all your apps shoudl have re-downloaded onto your phone. if thats not the case, open up your play store, hit the menu button, and tap on my apps. after that you'll see a list of all the apps you've downloaded and you can re-download them.
as far as the camera on jellybean not being great, you could always flash a different camera onto your phone if you are rooted. 4.2 camera is super nice.
and i just started using MX player and its pretty nice. Free and has a lot of codecs.
In a lot of Roms you have to reflash "gapps" search XDA for latest version. It is all the Google apps.

The jellybam rom comes with gapps i think he's talking about some samsung native apps.
If you updated to a stock firmware you should get the GAPPS automatically now if you install a 3rd party ROM like AOKP or CyanogenMod you have to install GAPPS manually just Google it you can find lots of information on it online
HI All,
I was trying to resist flashing a custom ROM for my Koodo T989d, but curiosity got the best of me! So I flashed AOKP 4.2.2 M1 build 4, my fears of bad call quality seem to be unfounded as the call quality seemed the same as before, the baseband remains the original Koodo/ Telus.
The thing that I expected, a performance boost also did not visually seem apparent. Although, my Antutu score increased from roughly 8900 to about 9300. Great ROM seems very stable, 12 hours of tinkering and had one FC in the gallery. I was assuming this ROM would be overclock-able, but it's not, I'd like to get it to at least 1.7 like my HP Touchpad.
Also, the external SD seems not to get "mounted", meaning that in Storage info, the details of what is stored on the SD are not displayed. But Google music, MX player and QuickPic do see it and displays the proper content. But with ES File explorer, "external_sd" is empty. I'll read some more threads to see if this can be fixed, but if anyone could point me to the thread/posting that fixes that it would be great!
Finally, even with Google Now working, a feature I really wanted to check out, still not too sure how it could really help me. I miss the Touchwiz UI, icons, dialer/ call display. Oh and the lockscreen widgets...hmmm not sure what to say they might be useful, probably just have to get use it.

On JB you will find your SD card in /external_sd and not /sdcard/external_sd.

There are a couple of touchwiz themes for theme manager that will make your dialer look pretty close, with AOKP you can put any widget on our lock screen that you desire (I don't find it very easy to use but it works) so you should be able to find something out there that will scratch the lock screen itch, I put beautiful widgets weather and clock on my lock screen and I smile every time I unlock my phone!
Getting a kernel usually solves most of the problems you are describing (call quality and OC).
I see a lot of posts, and I mean a great amount of posts, hundreds, about gallery not working and making the device reboot.
I've had that a lot, and what I do is use a file explorer to access dcim file on internal SD card and still choose gallery app to view my pics.
I'm under the impression that there's a conflict somewhere when the app is creating the preview where the folders grid appears. Well, is known that erasing everything and formatting both SD cards may solve this, but, why would I have taken pics if not to see them again later? Defies the purpose of saving the pics. If every time I flash I have to reformat and cannot paste back videos or pics taken before.
That brings me to something else but related. In my search for the perfect ROM, is clearly a personal choice and not a fact, I flashed Slimbean by prbassplayer and is flaweless with out any gallery issue or any issue for that matter. Every build since beta stages has worked well. I love it but I'm a flashing addict and I like all the newer bells and whistles other guys are adding. I'm in no way gonna ask Slim devs to change their minds and turn their ROM into a PA ROM.
In turn, I'm asking here; is there a way to get a working gallery like Slim's gallery on other ROMs? I mean no other ROM has a fully working gallery for me without a full formatting of my SD cards but slim. Can this be replicated on other ROMs?
I'm not complaining really, I've tried many ROMs and flash knowing the issues, I read the threads. I'm no dev nor have the time to learn or a PC with the capabilities to build ROMs. This is not a demand either. Is that I think slim guys are doing something different than the rest which results in a fully working gallery app.
Should I try to change gallery apps between ROMs and flash? Is it a bad idea?
Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if I just was lucky....but I did only 2 things to avoid the issue....and it never happened to me.
I used 2.6.1.0 twrp.
I transferred only my videos from my internal sd to my laptop. Not my pictures. And I don't have an external card.
Just my experience. I never would have erased my entire internal sd just to use 4.3....not that important to me. Seems pretty much the same as 4.2.2 in my eyes.
Actually ....I'm about done being a flashaholic myself....just want stable....so now I'm on stock Telus 4.1.2....rooted and heavily debloated and greenified.....and everything is perfect.
Do I miss any aosp options....sure....but phone is smooth and every single thing works flawlessly. Pie? There's an app for that. Halo? There's an app for that. Themes? There's an app for that. Call blocking? Built in. Different lock screens? There's an app for that. Etc....etc. lol
battery problems? >>>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2461864
I have the exact same issue with all of the 4.3 ROMs except Slim: Flash some fancy new 4.3 ROM, go through the initial setup, 'ooh' and 'ahh' for a bit, and then click on Gallery and watch it reboot.
A shame really as I'd love to give new/different ROMs a good week or so of use before deciding but I use the Gallery every damn day so I run right back to Slim.
