so i hav been running twa_priva's cm10 plus linario then yesterday i decided to try out hashcodes stock cm10. so i flashed his newest rom with goo manager over my previous install of twa_privas linario cm10 and now no matter what i do i get stuck at the cyanogenmod boot animation. i have reflashed recovery twrp 2.3.1.1 and wiped *everything* multiple times. im kind of at a loss here. not sure what to do. any thoughts?

thank man, i looked through that thread but only the first few posts. thanks for pointing that out,
I changed those settings but it still wont boot, wiped everything yet again, and flashed hashcodes lastest. and its still a no go.
There are some having similar problems with the latest twa_priv build but I'm not entirely sure whether it's the ROM or TWRP or a combination of both. You could try earlier versions of each and see if that fixes the problem.

HWA is not working with CM9 yet, I personally would suggest one of the CM7 roms for now since everything is working. Hopefully it won't be too long until everything is working properly with CM9.
What cm7 rom do you suggest? I havent used cm7 since the OG days

Which recovery did you install, TWRP or CWM?
Thats what i was just coming here to ask i did TWRP but after reading thru some roms looks like i need to do CWM? if thats the case is the CWM on the first page of the development section the correct one?

TWRP has pretty much been abandoned and CWM is now the preferred recovery. That is the right recovery but there is a script that can be used to install everything which can be found HERE. The CM7 rom that I would suggest using can be found in THIS thread and can be installed through CWM.

This CM7 build seems pretty complicated install after i installed CM9 reloaded. Just by the size of the post and number of commands.
Any way, which CM9 is you felt best among the available?

Just scroll down past the commands, it's very simple to install and doesn't require any commands at all. I'm not installing any CM9 roms until hashcode gets his kernel done so that everything is complete and working properly. I use my kindle for gaming and videos so I need HWA working.
i noticed that script includes 3 different CWM, does it matter which ones we choose? theres red, blue and doomlords

I know the blue one will not have time, battery, and kernel information showing in recovery and I'm not sure about the red one. I would just install doomlords just to be safe.

Volume Control, You can place a slider, that will auto-hide, to control the volume. He also has a nice brightness control app.
Thank you for all the help
I like the MoDaCo rooted stock ROMs. The current one is already on 6.3. If you don't like the stock launcher, you can always replace it. Because it's android 2.3, netflix will work just fine.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439916
i will have to check that out
+1 for MoDaCo Gr8. I've been running the 6.3 version since it dropped yesterday, with no problems. I use Go Launcher, themed to resemble ICS, and It's nice to be able to still access all of the stock kindle apps and bookshelf when I want to.
ok i got to know why does everyone run GO launcher and not ADW or LP?
TWRP

"Thank you" for the explanation, and it completely make sense to me.
Also one other question, why did you say TWRP is outdated? in almost all the "ROM" forums and blogs everyone is suggesting TWRP 2.0.
Just curious know your opinion.

TWRP has pretty much been abandoned by the dev and it seems like the other devs are starting to prefer CWM.
I'd suggest trying Reloaded ROM v1.1.
First off, I know how to get out of the loop by booting into Download Mode, then canceling. It just gets irritating having to do that.
I'm on the latest version of CWM. Does anyone know how to fix it?
What ROM are you using?

I just flashed back to CM10.0 from CleanBean. I was on BlazerROM before that, CM10.1 and CM10.0 before that. I've been having some.... issues with ROMs, lol. Little bit of test driving here and there also.
All ROMs I've flashed are affected.
I have a T989, not a T989D, running TWRP 2.7.1.0 and UVMC6 radio, coming from a JB 4.1.2 Slimrom.
Also I have taken out the board and inspected the power button, and everything seems okay there. I don't think it's being caused by a faulty button or some other hardware problem because I can flash my old Slimrom, and that boots up just fine.
I wanted to give Paranoid Android a whirl with the latest Wild kernel, and though I've tried 8 different PA builds, a PACman, a Slimkat, and an Alpine rom, ALL KitKat roms so far are bootlooping. [EDIT: Even PA 3.99 JB 4.3 is doing it. So it's more than just KitKat even.]
I'm doing the following:
Wipe system, data, cache, dalvik, and perhaps android secure and preload as well
Flash ROM & Gapps
Wipe cache & dalvik
Reboot
I reach the splash, and maybe it even finishes booting. But invariably, it takes about 60-90s from initialization before the screen dims, everything freezes for 2-5s, and it reboots.
I'm out of ideas.
Why won't my phone work with KitKat?
Thanks in advance
Have you ever used odin to flash the factory 4.1.2 UVMC6 rom? Some driver stuff was updated in that version and can only be installed with odin.
Edit: If your phone came with 4.1.2 jellybean, you already have the newest drivers.

I had the same problem. Turned out it had to do with the recovery. I redownloaded twrp, used flashify to install it. And that fixed the problem.

Much appreciated. My phone shipped at the tail end of Gingerbread. So now I have whatever drivers from 4.1.2, and that's one more potential problem eliminated.
The stock rom ran just fine, btw, once I factory reset (the documentation was nil, but at 750mb, I knew it was more than just UVMC6 radio firmware...)
So 4.1.x seems to be okay, but not 4.3.x or 4.4.x. Next I'll have to try a flavor of 4.2.x and see how it feels about that.

Interesting.
After I flashed the stock UVMC6 (and associated rom and lameass stock recovery) earlier today, I felt it was safest to use Odin to reflash TWRP while I had a functioning rom (even tho not rooted). So I downloaded the tar and that's the recovery I used to test PA 4.45. I will be doing more testing. I mean, it's not because there are leprechauns in my phone, right?

LOL, good point.
w00t! TWRP 2.1.8 for the Hercules just dropped!
I was thinking maybe the MD5 wouldn't have checked out the first time you downloaded, but would have the second time. I don't usually bother unless I have a reason to think that's a problem. I can always look after the fact.
Downloaded 2.1.8 and MD5 checks out...now to flash it...

Nice. Lemme know how it works out. Oh. The new PA is awesome.
My bad. I saw the number "8" at the bottom of the page which had not been there earlier and assumed it was next after after "7". No, that's an ancient recovery from 2012.
TWRP 2.8.1 for the Hercules has NOT just dropped!
Okay, so, my first test with a newly downloaded, MD5 checked, and flashed TWRP 2.7.1 recovery, and an MD5 checked PA 4.45 has not produced any different result.
However, you've made me realize that I can't hope to troubleshoot this without being fastidious about MD5 from here on out, so, thx 4 that.
...same goes for a 2nd test with an MD5 checked PA 4.5 Alpha3...
...same goes for a 3rd test with an MD5 checked PA v3.69 (4.2)...
...But Slim-Star v4.12 (4.2) loads no problem...go figure...
Fix permissions?
I tried to install the PA 4.5 Beta, and same problem. It bootloops.
Could it have anything to do with permissions?

when i had an issue like this i re-installed the factory original rom and started from the very beginning. if you've tried that and it doesn't work, well i'm pretty much unhelpful here. :crying:
Also note that WildKernel has a special version of v9 out for recent roms (roms released within the last two months).
Any other version of wildkernel will lead to bootloops in my experience.
If your rom is older than two months, then v8 or v9 should do fine

This is my post with the logs I got from the constant crash on cm11. I tried pa and had the same result.
Issue solved
After sharing some logs with Sultanxda, he pointed out this bootloop issue due to the CM kernel and helped me get it fixed.
My problem was that my phone would not boot on MOST JellyBean ROM's or ANY KitKat ROM. It would crash/kernel panic on or before the set up screen.
I do not know if the latest KitKat ROM's have the issue patched, but I asked if he could upload the patch for the kernel to source for other ROM's to use.
This thread should be solved I guess.
I somehow messed up by forgetting stuff from some tutorials. I was on Official Sony rom and wanted to goto Cyanogen and I ended up with being on OpenSEMC on my phone.
Since there are so many guides in guides and there are no real explanations what every guide/step does it's unclear what i can do now.
My Bootloader is unlocked, did that via Sony. I have no backups whatsoever.
I also have NO GAPPS on the phone itself, this is the part I forgot to actually put on phone/sdcard.
Wipe cache partition/dalvik's cache are formatted also if I recall.
So my phone is kind of useless atm

I forgot to put on the gapps.apk/zip on the phone so i can't install that one, and I already wiped Dalvik and another!
Nevermind, after having my phone for 2 years it now finally runs Cyanogen
I am missing stuff from gapps tho

-Hello, I'm new here. This is my first topic so if i did open this at wrong place, forgive me.-
I do flash roms through CWM a lot and i do keep the roms I downloaded as backups in case something happens. Recently I installed Sir Arco's CM12 (5.0.5) rom and I used it for a week. Then when I tried to change my rom to another one, I got stuck at recovery, after wiping cache/data/dalvik cache, saying "installing update..." but not doing anything for nearly 2 hours. FYI, the roms that I'm trying to install are all working (I used them before and they are the same files that I used to install), I even tried the stock rom but that didn't work either. Please help me ;-;
Note: I forgot the most important part! The phone can boot into recovery but there is no firmware installed in it right now since I couldn't install it. You can say it's pretty empty ;-;
If there's some missing info at this post, please ask it, I'm willing give any support I can.
What version did you tried to install? Only the last version of cm11 and cm12 are compatible with the recovery you used to flash cm12. If you want a older version of cm11 or cm10 and so on you need an older recovery. Probably that's your problem
First, I'm sorry for this slow response! Downloading CM11, finding a SD Adapter and etc. took a little bit long. But yeah, it's just as you said. I was trying to flash a 4.0.4 ICS. Flashing CM11 solved all my problems! Thank you so much! :good:

I'm glad I could help . Either way you can flash ICS if you want. You just have to install a older recovery to do it. And also make sure you have the right one
