This is probably a question for the devs, after flashing my own build of CM7.2, with the built recovery from the CM source tree (CWM). When ever i turn my phone on, while its charging, its goes strait into the recovery.
Any idea's why it does this?
Boot.IMG problem?

Try reflashing, if problem persists, you have a hardware problem with your charger.

Must be in the boot.img, built my entire system from source, so what ever causes it can be changed but i'm not sure if its in the init of the Linux kernel or in the kernel its self.
Got any idea's where i can look to find when the kernel decides which RAMDISK to load, recovery or system?
Why not just build a new boot.img and flash it?

Because if i don't change something, then it will just create the same boot image!
I need to know what part of the boot image tells the system to boot into recovery mode while the device is plugged in.
Sorry mate, can't help you with that, ask some kernel dev...

v5 is busted. Beyond having to reboot once before you're able to access it via RM, it's trashed a few systems (mine included), won't let some power off (they reboot instead), etc.
I'd suggest rolling back to the last stable version until the bugs get worked out.

Thanks guys. I think it worked now as suggested above

I've got my hands on a new one x, now I've unlocked the bootloader and installed CWM recovery and its all rooted, I've done all the usual with wiping everything, but it keeps coming up with installation aborted, can anyone shed some light on this one for me, now I'm used to doing custom roms on my gnex and I really can't see where I'm going wrong

Sure you are fully rooted? Try a root app such as no-frills, titanium backup etc to see if it fully works.

I had this Rom, just flashed the lastest recovery in fastboot,. Try flashing this in fastboot
check if the forum where you downloaded the rom matches to your phone...at & t one x is not the same like european one x's, because of the chipsets.
That could probably be the reason for aborting...

Have you tried installing a simple mod, anything, to see if your system partition can get remounted with rw?
Another thing I would try is to install supersu if you're using superuser and vice versa, and update su binaries.

You need to flash the kernel separately using fastboot. HOX doesn't have s-off so the kernel isn't flashed in recovery.
Extract the boot.img from the rom zip and fastboot flash boot boot.img
I tried that and it kep me in a bootloop still, and its s-on

At what point does it loop?
If at the HTC logo, boot.img is probably still wrong, if later on, try wiping dalvik cache.
What happens if I cannot boot a boot.img? My first time flashing a ROM and someone else installed a different ROM for me. Sorry if its a noob question

Well if you cannot flash a boot.img then you'll get stuck on the HTC screen or bootloop.
Hi all,
yesterdat I downloaded what is named Shendu OS and flashed it on my phone, and when the phone is turned on it get stuck on the first HOX logo,
when calling logcat, I got error: exec system/bin/sh not found.
I tried repacking the kernel and editing it, then flashing it.
I had succeeded in moving on to the second boot screen with getting logcat working.
But i faced a problem that power services are not found.
how could i solve this problem, need some help...

Maybe you forgot:
Fastboot erase cache

Sounds like parts are missing or more likely corrupt, you should try downloading it again.

I downloaded it again, same problem. I tried to repack a Kernel for it didn't work, I think zImage file is Ok. And I think the problem was with the endevaur.rc file. Or I will have to port ane for me to work.

Hi guys, I open this to try to find a solution to a problem that's affecting my desire since years..at first I thought was a rom related problem, but now I think it might be something else.
Here is the link to my other topic with all my phone details http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1328353 only change is stock Samsung 4gb SD.
Now let's talk about weird things happening..
I was on official GB with s-off and root by revolutionary.
I've changed the recovery (cwmr) with the latest 4ext recovery & so far is working like a charm, reformatted sd, done wipe all partitions except SD after mounting everything mountable, done these steps 4 or 5 times then reboot to recovery, done the same then reboot to boot loader, flashed hboot stock with pb99img file, reboot to recovery, flashed cyanomod007 reboot..phone boots up, green HTC logo on white screen, cyanogen animation, setup wizard and..got stuck on change language..same thing with a miui rom 4..and weird things are that flashing hboot is the only way to make a rom boot and other one is that i've to flash wit battery charger plugged in..wth is going on?last time with miui I was able to go through first settings and then stuck on lock screen..any idea?
