Nope, you'll be fine. It'll just charge faster.

Great! thanks

Mhl hdmi charger amps

After some reading and testing I've found that using a 1000ma charger with a mhl hdmi adapter instead of the standard 700ma means my wifi signal drops only slightly, meaning I can stream hd movies on the tv.
Would it be ok to use a higher rated charger to improve signal more?

Europe AC Adapter for Kindle Fire

Hi I just bought on Amazon a EU AC Adapter for Kindle:
http://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Kindle...2?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1329821708&sr=1-2-catcorr
I would like to use it with my kindle fire. But I am confuses a little bit.
On the original Kindle Fire Power Adapter I read this details:
Original US AC Adapter:
AC Input 100 - 240V~, 50-60 Hz, 0,3 A
DC Output : 5V , 1.8 A
Amazon EU AC Adapter
Inuput: 100 - 240V~0.15A 50/60Hz
Output: 5.0V , 0.85A
Now my Question is can I user the EU AC Adapter with my kindle fire? It has a little bit other specifications: But it is used with a USB Cable and not a direct AC Adapter. Is this the reason why the specifications is different?
I don't want to kill my kindle fire because of Charging it with the wrong adapter and I realy have no idea with this electric specifications. Can anyone tell me if I can use the Amazon EU AC Adapter with my kindle fire ?
Im pretty sure you can, I dont know a lot about it either, but I use a EU blackberry charger with these specifications and have had no problems:
Input: 100 - 240V~0.150A 50/60Hz
Output: 5.0V , 0.700A
I just bought a plug adapter and keep using the USA charger

It will work fine. It will just take longer to charge the Kindle because it has a lower output current capacity. (0.85A versus 1.8A)
You really want at least 1.8 A of output to charge the KF in a reasonable time. I'm a big fan of the Belkin F8Z630 charger. I've bought several of them, and been very pleased. They're not cheap, probably because they're marketed for iPad users, and they come with the useless iPad USB cable (just toss it, or give it to any iPad user on the street). But performance is fantastic--they deliver a solid 2.1 A at 5 Vdc, they can handle any input 100-240 Vac (basically worldwide usage), and they have a nice rotating plug feature that is handy in some tight spots. Works great for charging the KF quickly. I used one extensively on a European trip last month (with a simple U.S.-European plug adapter, of course).
Ad why not use ad/dc adapter that came with Kindle Fire? You need only US/Euro plug converter and it is miserably cheep.

[Q] Charging of Galaxy Nexus

Hi!
If I have an older AC adapter (for digital camera) with 5volt and 2A output. If I change the connector of the cable to micro USB, can I charge my phone with 2A? It will be Faster than 1A factory charger? It can be problem for the phone?
thanks.

Wouldn't matter if you have a 1000 A charger. You are limited by the connection type anyway. USB = 500mA and AC = 1000mA and is controlled by the charging board on your phone.

thank you very much your help!

MHL - AC vs USB Charging

Hey guys,
Bought a used HTC One due to BT connectivity problems with my SG4.
I have a requirement to use MHL daily and need an adapter that will allow "AC" chargiing mode. I am using the same charger as I did with my SG4 that did provide enough to actually charge the phone while using MHL.
The same usb charger running through my current MHL 1,0 adapter into my HTC one, will only put the phone into "USB" charging mode. This is not adequate and will probably force me to sell the phone off.
Here's the MHL adapter I am using:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005F9W6DU/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Do you guys know of a MHL adapter for our phones that will allow AC charging mode?
I don't use mhl but a kernel that supports fast charging comes to mind.

What do u need mhl for anyways?
I have the rocket fish mhl cable. I have hooked it up to my tv to watch NFL Mobile plenty of times. I plug my phone AC wall charger into the MHL cable as well to keep the phone charged, however, the phones battery life does not increase. So say, my battery is at 75% and I plug my mhl cable into my phone into the tv and my 1 amp power charger from my wall into my mhl cable to charge my phone, even though I get the charge status, two hours later, three hours later, my phone is still hovering around 75%. I hear it takes a lot of power to run mhl cables from the htc one to a tv. I hope I helped you with any information that I provided.

Actually, some MHL adapters can charge the phone and do HDMI. Mine does.
I have a cheapo Samsung one.
Unless OP is referring to something different?

USB-C Power Delivery Chargers

Hi all,
I just have some clarification questions regarding the chaos that is currently USB-C. Will ANY USB-C with PD support charge any other USB-C phone, tablet, or laptop if those devices support PD? Do we need to ensure that the charger used supports specific charging voltages, or will any of them work at different charge rates?
I bought a 2017 HP Spectre x360 13" a few months ago. (SIDE NOTE: If you're looking, this is an amazing convertible Ultrabook... 4k screen w/ Pen, Core i7, 512GB NVMe SSD, 16GB RAM, Thunderbolt3). It charges via a 45W USB-C charger. I generally have laptop chargers everywhere, so I ordered a bulk of Dell LA45NM150 chargers from eBay. They say 5V/20V on the sticker. Should these also charge my Galaxy S8, which charges at 5V and 9V? Do chargers need to say Power Delivery or PD to meet PD spec, or does that come along with having multiple voltages.
Likewise, I am guessing my laptop NEEDS 20V to charge? So if I took say, a phone charger and plugged it into the laptop, would it just not charge since it can't switch to 20V?
I am also speculating that if a USB-C charger only says 20V on the sticker, will it fry a Galaxy S8? Or is there protection for this sort of thing?
I am no newbie to power, chargers, electronics, tech.. but there's a lot of gray area right now on this stuff it seems.
Anyone?

Also, another related question -- Is there any advantage to using a USB-C to USB-C charging cable and brick vs a USB-C to USB-A cable with a brick?

USB-C to USB-C supports ThunderBolt 3 and USB 3.1. So faster data transfer and charging... USB-A does not support this... I think....

So then, why put a USB-C port on a wall charger? Just so you can use the same USB-C to USB-C cable?

Yeah I guess so... USB-C will be universal soon enough anyway so this will no longer be a worry haha!
