Considering un-rooting and re-locking my GSM GN to sell it. I found this guide I am planning on using. Are there any problems anyone has encountered in returning their GN to stock I should be aware of? Thanks.
Gnex was made to unlock, relock, root, etc. I used Wug Toolkit many times without issues. You can find it on the Nexus 7 Android Development.

Allow me to assuage your emotional reactions:
1. I did read that thread. Read a lot of it, actually, and all I saw was a whole lot of "will this void my warranty?" "followed the steps and phone is bricked" "how I get drivers working" posts, often by people with post counts of around 4. There are 1,318 replies to that thread. Figure it out.
2. I searched, and there are no threads specifically discussing problems/complications from returning to stock in the GN board.
A lot of threads on XDA are going to be similar in nature. I felt I had pretty good reason to start a new thread. There's no reason to get upset over it, kids -- settle down.

Now what I think of it? Unlikely.

I think this forum was definitely in need of another thread about this.

However, looking at the OP, I'm sure he will continue here in this thread.
I am on EL29 just rooted w recovery will I still get OTA updates?

Yes but it will fail to install
How did you root if sfhubs I suggest you go back and read his thread quite Andes tools to check OTA compatibility for upgrades. All info needed is there for you and a Google search would of helped you out as well...

Just rooted no other changes it will not fail. You will lose root by taking the OTA and at this point rooting the OTA will be the same as flashing the OTA manually, so not really a point in worrying about it. No one knows for sure what date we will get what, but EL29 was leaked days before it OTA'd for example.

Spelling is ok but thanks for your response. Voice talk and quick submit button was the victim but once again thanks for your kind words
Edit:
by the way what I was trying to say sfhub has tools that check your OTA compliance and his methods of rooting do not mess you up for taking an OTA but honestly why are you taking an OTA anyways... my bad had to ask, it is your choice...
Hey ewmccraw did I spell everything right?

I may have misunderstood your response to the OP, but I felt like you were rebuking him a little for not using google search first as opposed to just posting the question. I apologize if I did. It's just a little pet peeve of mine when that happens. After all, it's just the internet and that's the whole purpose of a forum. You know, free discussion and all that....again, sory if I missunderstud (see what I did there?)

I get it that its a forum and no prob but that does not mean you forget everything that got you to this point and that would be the search function. I will suggest using the search function as well as providing an answer... No prob and I think you spelled discusion wrong----(see what I did there) LOL
Thanks for the answers. Well the reason I wonder is because once we get ICS source and ROMs start getting built won't it be easier to flash ICS ROMs instead of having to switch around different kernels/ recoveries to flash and risk of brick will be lower? And I just didnt do a ton of searching because I been busy posting is faster.

Is that really necessary? This phone will be in use by many people for some time to come I'm sure. I could understand closing it after someone posted exactly why this isn't possible. This thread pops up after a Google search for this topic. There is nothing else posted that is current.

What does it tell you if an always up to date thread doesn't include something? Because logic would dictate that it probably didn't exist.

actually, i meant it as a request to someone to delete my post.
but as they said, there's enough information about this situation. and about a dozen threads on this particular situation.
current? it has been like this eversince Google closed up the exploit with JB (rooting) - and unlocking without usb needs root. you could have known this by the following links below:
first HIT on google search.

Don't pay any attention to the trolls. They are an extremely poor representation of what the community at large is about. You have successfully unlocked your bootloader which is the first major step to gaining root access. Are you using the GSM or CDMA version? Try to follow the steps outlined in this guide if you are using Verizon: http://androidforums.com/verizon-ga...gs-root-guide-more-updating-03-28-2013-a.html Shouldn't be too hard if you can follow some pretty easy instructions. It would also be worth your while to read through some of the documentation at the top of the post as it will better explain root as a whole. Feel free to message me if you have any issues.

Why does it matter? I answered his question. You did not. Perhaps next time you could link to your preference of walkthrough and answer the guys question instead of making fun of him. Good day.
Edit: Just went back and read that you actually didn't make fun of the guy, it was the others. Still, this whole thread could have been 2 posts had one of y'all just linked him a walkthrough. Its really not that hard.

Hello there. I am new user of galaxy nexus, I got android 4.2.1 . and I got heavy lags, I think this is TRIM problem, and I saw 4.3 solved this problem. But my phone won't update. Always says that system is up to date (Clearing data in Google services framework won't help). So I can't find exactly way to update my phone. And another question why there is no factory image for 4.2.1 even if I using it? Maybe that's a bug that I updated to 4.2.1 and the reason why I can't update to 4.3.
Maybe your build is yakjuxw.

If I will install takju replace yakjuwx, will my phone work properly, and will it work with Ukrainian GSM carriers?
Why wouldn't it?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
I thought takju were designed for USA, and will not work out-USA. On your opinion is it fine to install it instead yakjuwx?
Have you read the threads regarding the conversion?
The only difference is the inclusion of Google wallet. Nothing about it would cause it not to work outside the US.
If takju didn't work outside the US, there wouldn't be so many people using it or recommending it. Just go do your own research. The answers are out there for you to read.

Sorry for annoying
Its a hard phone to kill. You can always reload stock and relock the boot loader. People worry too much about this. When you have a nexus you shouldn't worry so much about modifying it.
