Anybody else having problems with the backdoor not closing all the way and making creaky sounds?!
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
I had the same issue, one side did not fit the way it should making that squeek sound when you held it a certain way. Tried a different cover the one with the flap and issue is gone.
I have the flip cover as well its just a shame how the oem backdoor is terrible
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
The problem I noticed is that some of the little tabs that click on are pointing in opposite directions. I had the most luck placing the long side that has the volume rocker on first and then nudging the rest of it on in the direction of the side with the power button.

I'm a diehard fan of samsung phones, but my biggest beef with them has always been how cheaply made their back covers are. 650.00 phone should have some metal on it.

Exactly my phone... the back covers are too cheap excluding the nfc support... by really why not backs like the agalxy nexus with texture or better fitting to the actual phone it self

I did that until i figured out how to insert it correctly. push in the sides (towards you) (each side / area at a time) so the notch goes behind, then push out as you push down. I couldn't get one side to sit flush before I figured this out.

their back covers are high-tech stuff, I believe it can bend about 180 degrees / in half, and still not break.

I just finished making this case for my N8013. I used an old hard cover book, with pages carefully cut out, a thin piece of clear plastic, from the craft store (the kind used for tables and chair covers), and a LOT of duct tape. The bottom tabs which hold the tablet are made of duct tape and the top strap is of the clear plastic. The plastic clings to the tablet giving added security. I also made the stylus-holder from duct tape. Very convenient.
It's not drop-proof, of course, but it is pretty cool.

It's held on the bottom corners by the tape and across the top by the clear plastic strip. It's secure as the plastic hold and adheres to the screen (bezel area).
Regarding the blue (?) my note is grey, but I took the pics in a room with fluorescent lighting.

So gloriously ghetto. I love it. Nothing like putting a $500 tablet in a taped up old book.
You are aware that really nice cases are available on Amazon for less than $20?

I like it alot so far but the tpu has rough edges, wondering if anyone knows how I could attempt to fix it? I know I could just try sandpaper but would hate to ruin a new case if the sandpaper doesnt work
What part of it is too rough?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
I haven't done it on neoprene, but possibly a lapping kit may work. For example, when I lap a cpu or water block, I can usually find a lapping kit which includes various types/levels of roughness of sandpaper. Obviously it would be on the other spectrum as a cpu but one of the pieces should work, it usually includes about 10 different kinds. I'll see if I have any left, cause I usually use the second softest to polish, which may work

"High quality (very good)
Made in China
This item is not genuine SGP"
I knew it was fake when I bought it. This is a discontinued case. It's pretty nice other than a few flaws. Looks stylish. I know it's fake and from eBay, if you read my first post I'm not complaining just want to make the case better than it already is

Dropped from like a foot of the ground with a Samsung flip cover. Landed face down chipped screen in 2 corners and got a crack across the screen.
How do I get it fixed? Or can I do it myself? Anyone have any experience or suggestions? Thanks.
Send it to Samsung. Gonna be out as much as the phone cost you though. Get a good case to keep it from happening again

the "glass" is replacable seperately.. same as on the galaxy s3. it isnt worth it though in my opinion. it doesnt respond exactly the same. the replacements dont come with the contrast enhancing adhesive that is installed in the OE oled displays. and you can get specs of dust under it during the install, or potentially ruin it entirely. it's just easier to let sammy replace it professionaly with OE parts and have it done correctly.
believe me, i tried.
Rub some bacon on it?

Mine is like that, I was thinking of going to exchange it but then I checked my brother's s3 and it was the same.. Only the power button is like that for me though.. It also makes a creaking noise at times when I press it, which is a little annoying

Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
No I'm not listen don't worry so much I doubt a case is going to cause that. Doubt is going to fall off if that was the case it's a major flaw by Samsung which I doubt they did. Then again I have a year warranty so I'm not worried about it. You have warranty on it right?

I did further research and people are reporting on the Verizon forums that is pretty common multiple people confirming that power is loose. Again just Samsung being pretty cheap building their phones with everything plastic, just a poor build. Even brand new coming like that, also sprint s3 same thing.

i just got mine on april 3 2014. tmobile. both power and volume rocker are loose. I accidentally press the volume rocker and can hear the phone beep after i put it in a thick leather horizontal case. I'll have a black s-line TPU case soon. Never noticed before, never paid attention in stores. Now i want to return it because of this. Don't want to play around with buttons. I had LG and tab 3 8.0 that have stiff buttons and rockers. WTF is wrong with this company???!!! They always fk something up in an otherwise very good device.
You are still within the buyers remorse period. (I think that's what it's called).
Never had any issue with mine. Take it back to a store and ask to compare to another, then exchange for another s3 or different device altogether.

a thick case with vol rocker cutout fixes it so i'm not too upset. expected things to be perfect for this expensive flagship phone. ordered another phone but not because of the loose buttons, different provider under tmobile, so i'll compare but its going to be the same white tmobile sgh-t999l.

Provides enough protection for peace of mind, but as bulk-free as a case can be. Might even make the tablet easier to handle (adds a little dimension along the lip of the bezel).

The stand has a second part that click into place when opened all the way. This makes it rigid so it does not collapse. It is a little flimsy but so far I haven't had any issues with it.
As far as weight is concerned, yeah it isn't the lightest case there is but the protection it give seems to be worth the weight to me.
