Weird forum bug? - About xda-developers.com

XDA logged me in as a different user
I clicked on my forum.xda-developers.com/usercp.php favorite and found myself looking at a bunch of threads I was unfamiliar with. In the upper right corner the XDA website said "Welcome, diegoms89." I assume I was looking at his/her subscribed threads.
When I clicked over to this forum to report the bug, it then said that I was logged in as me. Clicking on the User CP now gave me my subscribed threads.
I'm running Windows 8 and Google Chrome.

Well... this was weird...
Went into xda-developers
and noticed I was logged as another user, "hari...."
If I went into any topic I would be back to my account Tovagulet
Has anyone else had this problem?
And if you check his profile http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=2370609
It says "Current Activity: Viewing Forum Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830"
and he last post was on may of 2012...

Was going through my PM's, refreshed the page, noticed I was logged into another users account that I've never seen on this forum, had Pm's in their box (couldn't, and didn't read them) that were not mine. Logged out, and logged back in, and everything seems fine. Really weird...

OMG! 1337 H4X0RZ! Ban him ^^^

1.Insert title as caption.
2.Win the internet.

Very strange. Moved to About XDA section.

Yep, was a glitch, all fixed now.

If this is the drawsomething by omgpop or w/e, they were reporting server issues/facebook server issues via various tech blogs. I believe this was the game that overloaded their Amazon cloud servers, so they were moving everything to a new host. Apparently its something wrong on their end that will be fixed over time.
Everyone around me in school Android or iphone is playing it. It's getting me annoyed as I purchased it in hopes that it would solve the problem.

I was getting this error repeatedly yesterday. Restarting the phone solved the issue for me.
Yeah they've been having server issues pretty regularly. The game is great when it works but it needs a ton of polish and there are several standard things its missing for this type of game, like notifications and chat. "Jirafabo" if anyone wants to play.

Android malware

Just when we thought we were safe! Included is a direct link to the site I downloaded this from or you can use my dropbox link. Either way it's a pdf file. This is the latest quarterly report. http://www.f-secure.com/en/web/labs_global/whitepapers/reports Or dropbox

Anti virus went nuts clicking those links.
They are legit sites. From f-secure. You can go to their site and in search bar look for quarterly mobile malware
it's like 29 pages long and even lists some of the apps they hide in. It covers all phones but the Android used 20 of the pages i believe

i hate not being able to read sarcasm..
So, wait, one shouldn't install apps from unknown developers with poor descriptions, a ton of unnecessary permissions, and no reviews?
What's new here, exactly?

Samsung Galaxy Gear Forum Gone?

Just wondering what happened to the Samsung Galaxy Gear Forum. It seems to have disappeared two days ago. I've done searches but keep getting the message:
"Invalid Forum specified. This can happen for a variety of reasons-- most likely because the thread or post you are trying to view has been moved or deleted. Please return to the forum home and browse for another similiar post."
Is the Gear forum coming back?
There is a new forum for galaxy gear.

Thanks, Hunter. I guess the "Find Your Device" search box had not been updated yet, or was cached on my machine. I appreciate the help!
How do I unsubscribe from the forum after it no long exists? It still shows up in my subscribed forums list even though it no longer exists. Since I can't go to it, i can't hit the unsubscribe button.

XDA-Developers Main (Home) Page Issue - Cannot Access Homepage

Hi folks - it's the first time I have posted in here OUTSIDE of the device-specific forums so I would like to apologise in advance if I have posted in the WRONG FORUM SECTION (in which I would be called 'a #&@%ing retard', and rightly so).
As of 7th March 2016 at 0908 hours, GMT+0000, I have been experiencing a problem with the XDA-Developers Home Page, whereby I am greeted with what looks like the WordPress Admin CP page:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Has anyone else been experiencing these problems recently, and if so, then when?
It's dead, Jim. Also, someone probably reinstalled Wordpress and they're gonna have a field day trying to repair it, heh.
Oh dear, that admin will have a hell of a day
They'll just hit "restore backup" and voila :v

That's when they'll realise their last backup was a week old or something. At least the comments are on Disqus !
Oh hey, it's back

THIS. How do I stop this? I've scanned my network, and installed the "Privacy Pass" addon and I'm STILL getting this stupid message.

There are some threads about this.
XDA is under constant attack from spammers and the like.
I believe this happens more often if you are editing long posts, try to avoid doing that.
XDA is moving to a different forum platform, soon like in a few days.
Some security measures may be relaxed after the change.

@GuyInDogSuit I know it doesn't help or will satisfy you but even I as a moderator occasionally get the captchas pending on my action. @sd_shadow explained the reasons well. And I apologise but I can't tell you how it will look like after the transition to Xenforo.
Yeah this usually happens when we try to edit very long posts. In the meantime of the transition to XenForo, a workaround to avoid captcha is to split long posts in 2 shorter posts, like explained here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/labs-t3241866/post83621087
