after trying to swap memories with vold.fstb,i think i can made something wrong-my boot dont finish-stuck at boot animation :crying:
so what can ı do about that
if i try to wipe cache and reinstall cm shall it work
or someone can upload me a backup
how can i fix this
anndd ı made this thread in wrong section how can i change this
If you made a nandroid backup, install that... you'll obviously need to enter recovery mode with the power, home, volume up key combo....
If you don't have a nandroid, flashing CM9 should work, as long as you do a FULL wipe beforehand (cache, dalvik and factory reset)...good luck...

.....and once you get back to cm9, don't try modifying the vold.fstb (or whatever it is), just use the storage configuration settings built in to CM9.....

i will back up my sd fist then format it
try to put thier updates.. or uninstall those apps has force close.. like repencis if touch the flashlight result of forceclose it makes your status disappear....
just try their updates...
just do a data wipe and cache wipe before flashing through cwm and installing via odin
ps: and also keep a copy of a latest cwm back up
I also experience this problem flashing from bazrom to chobitz
the things i did to fix the problem are.
1. if your on a custom OC kernel flash back to stock kernel. if you have a stock kernel back up please refer to this thread for instruction.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574499
if you didn't back up your stock kernel. click on my attached file and refer to the link i have posted for instruction.
2. if you have a nandroid back up you should try to restore it again using a stock kernel.
3. after you successfully flashed back to stock kernel. another option is to flash a rom which is different from Bazz/repencis/creeds rom (i suggest you flash hybrid 2.1)
4. last option is try to flash again to stock firmware via ODIN (if your firmware doesnt work try using another country's firmware and revert back to your country's firmware if the flashing is successful with the notification bar fixed)
P.S
Do a data reset / cache in stock 2x before updating to CWM and do a data reset / cache again. then flash a rom
Good luck hope this could help you out.
Sorted

Seems you experience an awful lot today. But it happens to everyone's first time.
Go to recovery mode, reflash CM9RC2 and Gapps. Then factory reset - Clear cache - Wipe Dalvik Cache - Fix permission. These are important steps. If you miss either one it might cause problems.
Try going pristine and btw I'd you post a brick problem you need to say if you can access download/recovery mode.
Go to the general section to know what, why and how to do a pristine flashing, it will end your problems.
Just to make sure, did you follow Arco's instructions carefully? Pristine is always better but those instructions some times work great.

No, I'm not bricked. I can still boot into recovery (CWM) and reinstall my old rom. I'm just finding out should it take this long to install or am I just being impatient.
Well from reading the steps that you took not once did you mention you actually flash the ROM

Wipe/format system is not the same as a factory reset.

it's actually what I just did, got here because I'm having issues with the encryption unsuccessful... how'd you get around that?
I went with CWM 5 (signed version 5.0.2.7 ext4+rfs) and then proceeded to install CM9 final 3.
all went according to directions but then I got that msg and the reset button that doesn't do squat...
tried a search for the error message there but couldn't really pinpoint a working solution. so for now i just odin'd back the latest fw for the S5660 (ie S5660XXKTL_S5660XXKT7_S5660DBTKT1_HOME - Germany)
Reason i'm doing all this is because I believe the German baseband is different that the Canadian one (for Telus) since I'm not getting any reception from my provider but i'm able to get (detect) another one...
thanks for your time...

I did the wipe/factory reset after the flash (just following the directions)
I tried to wipe the dalvik but it would go back to the main cwm menu, not letting me select yes

Some history on my device:
ATT SGH-i317
Android version: 4.1.2
Baseband Version: I317UCALJ2
Running CleanROM ACE 4.8.0
This morning when I woke up, my phone was frozen. No response at all, so I pulled the battery and rebooted it. When the device came back up, all my settings were gone, apps were failing left and right and it was almost unusable. So, I figured I'd try to flash Scott's newest ROM (previously running CleanROM 4.2.5) to see if that cleaned things up.
I was unable to wipe the caches correctly, TWRP tells me that it cannot mount /data and the davlik cache wipe fails. Doing a factory reset doesn't see to do anything either.
So, not wanting to make things worse, I'm turning to you fine folks for some guidance. What is the proper plan of attack here to get whole again?
Ultimately, I'd like to run CleanROM 4.8, be rooted, etc.
Any assistance you can provide would be appreciated.

What version of TWRP do you have. They are at version 2.5.0.1 now. I'd update TWRP then rewipe cache, delvic cache, factory reset and system.
If possible back up data and then wipe data as well. Wipe them three times each. Make sure your download is good with an md5 check hopefully

Ok, that is a solid suggestion. I am running twrp v2.3.1.1
I'll try upgrading that to see if the cache issues go away. Further, at this point I do have backups, but the ROMs creator suggests not using them. So I'm not sure if I will or not.

Running CleanROM. He always states to run his ROMs cleanly, no backups.
Updating TWRP to the latest version has enabled me to clear everything and I am setting the phone back up now. Thank you all for your help! :good:
OP
The suggestion to not use backups is likely talking about backups from titanium backup etc.
Not about a full backup of the rom. Scott simply does not want data mixed from a previous build which can cause many issues.
A nandroid backup of your device at a time when the device is running properly, can and will save your bacon at some point in your flashing career.
The nandroid will allow restoration of the device partitions if they become corrupted as your device did.
While you may not know what caused the failure, a full wipe and restore using your clean nandroid backup would save you time and effort. Not to mention data you saved inside of the backup.
It is wise to back up everything, including the EFS folder and modem as well in TWRP.
I'm glad you are running again...and once your set up is completed....backup....IMHO.....g
