Hello,
I've started using Note II for two weeks and I noticed that it doesn't use microSD card when installing games. I can't move the apps to microSD either. When it says "move to SD", it usually moves the apps to internal memory (emulated). Any help?:crying:

This is a JB limitation. You need to root and use Directory Binder to move apps to sd... Or wait for smarter apps that detects sd-cards them self.

Hi!
I was looking after this issue since my holidays. My Glide just uninstalls random applications that are on SD card (external_SD) after reboot. The replication is 8 out of 10. I had almost 30 apps on the SD card (mostly games).
What I did:
-restart the launcher
-wipe/factory reset
-change microSD cards
-reformat microSD card
How can I tell apps are uninstalled?
-checked Market
-checked TiBu (Backup/restore > Uninst. filter)
As I said, different apps are uninstalled every reboot. If I again reboot my device, the app(s) previously removed will be installed and another app(s) is removed.
Temporarily, my apps are transferred on my Internal storage (2gb) and so far, no issues. This quite puzzles me for I did not encounter any issues using my microSDs in file transfers, media and etc except for this one.
May you have similar issues and have solutions for them, please share and it will be greatly appreciated.
I posted this in the subforum for this only happened on my Glide (did not see in my Captivate and Infuse with same micrSDs). If you see this as inappropriate, please leave me a message or reply, or simply report my post.
Thanks
Correct me if I am wrong but apps moved to SD actually install to the 4gb USB storage in the unit (/sdcard). Nothing goes to the external SD (/sdcard/external_sd) unless manually moved there. If you want to install a program to the SD you have to use root utilities.
Doesn't help you with your issue but you should be able to completely remove the SD card and see if you continue to have the problem.
I haven't noticed this on my wife Glide but it does happen on my Skyrocket.

No your wrong when you hit the button move to SD Card it actually goes to the MicroSD card. I tried hitting that button without a Microsd card and I get an error it says not External card detected or something like that. When I installed my MicroSD card it moved the apps to it.

You are correct. Good to know. I verified that I have a few apps moved to SD and they do not work when the SD is removed.
However, I can not replicate the OPs original issue. I put the SD back in and the apps are launchable again. All apps remain after reboot. When the SD was swapped was it with a different brand/model. I am using an 8gb Sandisk.
I could not replic

That's weird because I was able to move to SD without inserting a Micro SD card and when I move to SD, it moves them to the internal USB storage instead of the Micro SD card.

Weird how we both have different results here. I have the Rogers running Android version 2.3.5 and Kernel version 2.6.36.3

responses are greatly appreciated....I also tried moving two apps on SDcard after transferring them to the internal (2GB) storage. my glide automatically removed one of them after reboot. Well it's not a concern until i ended up running out of space on my internal
I noticed this as well on some apps I just reinstalled them on the internal and will not transfer them to the SD I again. I guess some programs don't want to be transferred to SD.

I have the exact same phone, I think you are confused. Move to SD never moves to external SD. Why else would apps like 'Apps2SD' exist then?
Apps2Sd allows you to map certain folders that are hard coded to the sd internal. For example game loft games install on the internal applicaton 2 gig partition a small installer and then Download extra content on the internal sd card. Apps2Sd allows you to map the game directory from the internal sd to your micro sd card. Similar in linux with a sym link. The Move to Sd from the Os (gingerbread). Allows you to alleviate some room from your 2 gig applications partition and move apps to the Microsd card.

Could it be that whether it move to internal or external SD depends on the app? None of my apps have been moved to the external microSD yet. Maybe it is because I have extra space on my internal microSD? Also when I go to Manage Apps > On SD Card, it shows the space used and remaining on the internal SD(USB storage).

if you are rooted, look for a folder named .android.secure on your Glide's hard drives. That folder contains apps that are moved to SD card. I see mine on /sdcard/external_sd/.android.secure
Hi, even if this thread is an old one, the same issue happened to my phone:
I can't use the internal memory to move apps because they are uninstalled every time the phone is rebooted. What is the clue?

So I was trying to install NOVA 3 and the game says that I don't have enough space on my SD card. Since I have a 32gb Ext. SD card, I started using Apps2SD to transfer all the apps to external storage. Now, all but 3 apps have been transferred to the Ext. SD card. However, when I look in titanium backup, it still says that my "SD card" only has 563MB free, while my "internal" storage has 1.58 GB free. So apparently, Apps2SD only frees up space on the "internal storage"...and not the "SD card". As a result, NOVA 3 still won't install cause I don't have enough room. So here's my question:
How do I free up space on the "SD card" rather than "internal" storage? (I though Titanium Pro had a way of doing this, but I can't figure it out)
I'll give that a try...thanks for the input

I searched this site and found many discussions about how stupid it is that we have these three different storage repositories, but I can't find a method for clearing the "SD card [11.49GB]" (i.e., NOT "internal storage [1.97GB]" or "External SD Card [32GB]"). I just want to play NOVA 3 and Apps2SD is not helping me clear out this portion of internal storage. I'd like a solution, but I'll settle for a simple explanation for why our phone has such a complicated storage system. Why can't it be just "internal storage" (11.49GB + 1.97GB) AND "External SD card"?
Download "GL to SD" from the Play Store. It will move games & apps to the external sd card. The only draw back to it is the games and apps you move with it will have to be opened from the "GL to SD" app. It had a very easy to use interface and works like a champ. I moved 9gb from internal sd to external sd with it.

awesome, I'll try it out. thanks
I put a 16M SD card on my note II. it looks like only photo and video switch to this Card. how could I switch other apps' data storage to the external SD card?
Such as evernote and donwloaed Googld Music ... and so on. many thanks
There are two ways to transfer apps from internal storage to external SD
1)go to Settings>Applications, and select each app into "move to external sd"
But not all apps support this.
2)second way is only for rooted phones. Install titanium backup. And select "move user apps to external sd card" and can be applied to ALL apps.
One more question the phone seems to store the screenshots and snote exports to internal memory..
Any way to make it store all photos in external sd??

Hi I'm having problems with moving my apps from internal storage to my sd card seems titanium backup does it but the apps are still on my internal storage I also tried rOM Toolbox pro and same result I'm trying to figure out why my apps won't move to my sd card since my internal memory is being all used up I can't download more . Also the apps in the playstore don't work either

there is an app called "APP BACKUP AND RESTORE". Download this app on your old phone. Open the app and transfer all desired app onto your SD card. Next, install the same app on your new phone. there is and option to restore all apps from SD card to your new phone. I've done this and it took about 10-15 minutes (depending on how many apps you are trying to transfer). HOPE THIS HELPS

The newer Samsungs are different in how they handle the SD card. They have their 2 GB internal memory, and therefore see the 16 GB internal memory mistakenly as the "SD card". Your actual SD card is mounted as a different partition altogether.
Someone help me out with this, but I don't think the standard App2SD will work because of this design. Somewhere out there is a mod that allows you to fake swap your internal memory with your SD card, but I've never tried it. I don't run a lot of huge applications so I haven't run into the issue, just seen it around.
Hopefully some searching will help with what I mentioned above or someone else can chime in with more experience.
On all my other devices I was able to make the system believe the internal memory is the external SDcard... and that my external SD card was the internal memory
so I had a 64 GB tablet.
Never had any issues or obvious loss of speed...
Now I have installed my standard apps and the game Xcom and 16 GB are used up... can't move any more to the SD
Any way to do this on the P605 with 4.4.2?
I'm towelrooted

I believe you can use the app Foldermount to do that, or manually relink the drives via Terminal.

As the previous post suggested, get the paid version of foldermount and you can pretty much move (i.e. link) any folder to the SD card without android throwing a fit. I linked the Downloads folder and all of my game obb folders to the SD card and I have plenty of space left on the internal storage now.
FolderMount Problem
Okay i have FolderMount on my android 4.4.2, but when i choose to open ''storage/sdcard1 or sdcard0'' it doesn't show nothing inside (on the foldermount) ! HELP ?! D:
I am confused. What is the point of fooling the system into believing that the external sdcard is the internal memory? I heard that the sdcard is slower than internal one.
Is FolderMount an app to work around the KitKit unable to save to sdcard issue?

Ive been using folder mount since it came out.It does not make anything slower for me.I have 128gb micro sd card and it runs fine.I have alot of games and most are over a gig. With folder mount im able to put everything on external microsd card and play the games from there.I only have 16gb on tablet with about 30 gb worth of game data, so without foldermount I wouldn't be able to fit all the games on tablet. That's why its good to fool the sytem. Hope some of that helped you better understand.
