Hi guys,
Where is the physical IMEI number shown on our phones? Is there a sticker under the battery?
I lost my T-989 last week so I can't look.
Appreciate your help; it may help me get it back.

Thanks truckerdewd.
How easy is it to spoof an IMEI?
I can identify my phone even if it has been spoofed and the sticker removed; just curious.

Hey so I just got a I747 and I am loving it! The problem is it came in blue/it didn't come with a back door battery cover (I only paid $290 for it too!). Well I don't really like the pebble blue scheme, and prefer the white GS3. So I have been looking for the white housing and I have found it for the i9300, but will it fit the i747? One reason I am asking this is because AT&T uses the micro sim card on the i747, but does the i9300 also use a micro sim slot or a regular sim slot?
Here is a link the listing.

If you want we can still trade, but you would have to wait until the battery cover I order comes in, and the battery cover isn't the original one either :/

Can anyone confirm this please? I really want a white housing :/

I'm also interested in this. I bought the wife the white I9300 a few months back, I have a Red I747 in route and if I can I'd like to switch the housings for her so she can keep her international model and send the AT&T on back to my mom to use since we don't have 4G where we live. :good:

I can confirm that Yes the i9300 uses the micro SIM.
I'd yield to the more experienced folks on here about the casing being different. I'm sure if you dig around on Google you can find someone who will sell stickers to change the appearance or you can always put a case on it. Besides, unless you're really good, that's the type of hardware surgery that can become an epic fail!
Well here is a close-up of my i9300, they look the same to me.

I am pretty sure it isn't difficult to switch housing whatsoever, I have done it a couple of times in the past with my other phones.

I never listen to naysayers anyway, I always have to find out for myself. I'll find out in about 3 days when the Garnet Red GS3 I ordered arrives. :fingers-crossed:

Shouldn't be all that hard, just be careful because the plastic frame beneath the back cover holds the antennas, so a poorly fitted install or accidental jostling of the wrong parts on the motherboard can ruin the reception of the phone.

I am on the lookout for a Galaxy Nexus in Mumbai, India. I want to make sure that I get my money's worth when buying the phone i.e I don't want to get ripped off by the seller.
Can you please tell me how I can know if a phone is new or used previously.
I already read but people in the comments have reported that they don't always work:

I know. That's why I posted this thread - to see if someone else would have a answer.
There's very little you can do to check if it's new or not other than call Samsung and see if someone has registered the unit with them for some reason or another. Although the seals on the box being broken would be a massive give away

When i got my nexus in the mail my buddy took it out of the box and put his phone in to play a joke on me and didn't even break the seal. I asked him how he did it and he said he didn't even realize he had done that. So no the seal is no indicator at all lol.

I find it hard to believe you can undo the seal without damaging it, I had to proper rip mine to get into the box. Perhaps the EU ones are more secure!!
Either way, unless you're getting it from an official dealer it's hard to say whether it's 100% new or not
Hi everyone,
I have just purchased the Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505 White colour on ebay.co.uk. I saw the seller pasted another seal on the box. I am considering about the battery coming with my handset. I am afraid that they replace the original battery. The battery they give me has a sentence Cell made in China and Assembled in China. I did searched information about batteries of Galaxy S4 but there is nothing like my battery. Apparently, all batteries of S4 are made in Korea or Vietnam. I attached the picture below. Could anyone help me this problem. Thanks so much.

Can I pull the motherboard out of a I747 that has a bad digitizer & glass and transplant it into an L710 that has a bad board in it but the rest of the S3 is in great shape?
I assume the motherboards are the only difference between the phones ?

No problems. Ill report your post and get the mods to move it for you.
From the Moderator
The Short answer is TMobile and ATT boards should be identical the modem speed is usually going to be the issue that would be the same with sprint boards... if you look carefully on the board look at the part number then do a search on those numbers, that will tell you if they match or are compatible. The problem with mixing boards is you run the risk of losing higher speed connectivity... usually worst case is you only get 2g
Also since this is an older phone this is the correct place these phone forums were merged

Sorry, but the boards and frames are incompatible. I couldn't tell you which component on the board is the one that causes the difference, but I know there's one that's a different shape and won't fit in the other model's frame.
