Bluetooth Headset, Headphones and ROM - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

This seems specific to the SGS3 ROMs so I thought I would post here. I swear this worked fine before flashing my first JB ROM.
My 2006 VW doesn't have an AUX input so I use one of the FM Transcievers. It works well.
But...I also use a bluetooth headset while driving.
What I want to happen is to be able to answer calls with my bluetooth headset. Right now while the FM thing is plugged into the headphone jack, the callers voice is sent over the headphone jack and on the stereo. It does pause the music when the call comes in.
It is as if my bluetooth headset is disabled while the headphone jack is used, even though the headset button on the in-call screen is lit up. The phone mic is used instead of my headset too.
I have tried disabling A2DP on my headset and also connecting the bluetooth headset after plugging in the headphones.
BTW, I am using PowerAmp.
Thoughts?

Uhmm .. this should be under Q&A .. NOT Development !!!!

It seemed related to the ROMs that is why I posted it here.

Still goes to Q & A section.

[Q] Bluetooth audio question

Thanks to help from one of the members on here my bluetooth is now working fine for making/receiving calls.
However why does the audio from youtube app or tunein radio app not also come through my bluetooth device when paired and connected but instead through my HTC Desire loudspeaker?
Any one got any idea?
I'll try rephrasing the question.
Why doesnt a standard bluetooth in ear headset carry the full audio of my HTC Desire the way a pair of bluetooth headphones probably do and not just phone calls?
Either noone knows or the ones that do aren't seeing this thread.
I have Nokia BH-503 headset and I had the same problem. The calls would go through my headset, but everything else would play on the speaker. I noticed when I went to settings/Wireless & Networks/Bluetooth settings that my headset connects to phone audio, but not media audio.
I did some research and found a solution that works for me. I turn on the headset first, then bluetooth on my phone. Wait for a few seconds and that's that. My headset works perfectly and plays all audio from the device. When I go to settings, it says that the headset is connected to phone and media audio.
Try that and see if it works for you.
I'm only getting the option to use phone audio for some reason. I even tried switching my headset on first as you suggested.
My headset is a Nokia BH-102.
Any other ideas on how to get the media audio connected?
I think my bluetooth headset is just too crap to play media audio.

Headset question for cyanogen experts

So I got an odd thing here. Kind of dealable but not at the same time.
With the stock rom I was able to connect a 3 ring 3.5mm jack and it would not enable headset mode. It would just play sound through the headphones and the phones mic was used.
With cyanogen it doesn't seem to know the difference between 3 ring and 4 ring 3.5mm plugs. It disables the phone mic either way. Is there a setting I'm missing or will I just have to deal with not being able to use my AUX input on my car for phone calls?
Wow i have had this same problem with virtuous rom. I havnt tested it since a few updates ago. I will update if the problem still there

[Q] Music out volume

I have plugged my phone into my surround sound system using the headphone socket but the music out volume is very very quiet. Tried in the car also connecting it to the car stereo but again very quiet. Plugging my ipod in this way both times and the music is perfectly loud. Is this a bug or does anyone know a solution. I was going to buy a new car stereo so i can stream music to it via bluetooth. Will this also be ridiculously quiet??
I'm guessing that you've already tried turning the volume up?

Yes I have turned the volume right up.
Are you being serious that it's loud?? Is that because your using an unofficial rom?

I thought as much, I'm using CM7, but I have used the stock HTC ROM to listen to music on my HiFi. And there were no problems with the volume.
Are you using the same 3.5mm jack to connect your phone to your car & HiFi at home?
Yeah using the same 3.5mm jack on th phone but different lead each time. As I say with iPod it's fine. Through headphones the volume is fine and too loud when turned right up but it's when connecting to other audio equipment it's just so quiet and very poor quality.
That's odd, sadly short of a factory reset, which probably won't fix it anyway. I've no more ideas

I also have the same problem, I've plugged mine into my car stereo and it does not go loud enough, I'm wondering if it could be a fault.
Maybe a problem with the latest firmware update that they pulled (2.2.1) as I didn't try it before then I'm not sure. Thanks for your replys so far. Any othe thoughts??

[Q] Bluetooth with Aux Cable

I saw that this had been asked once before, but no suitable answers were given unfortunately. On my old Evo, I could play music through my stereo via aux cable, and the phone would switch to Bluetooth for calls. This meant cutting the music, and transferring to both the mic and earpiece for audio omy bluetooth.
Currently, the audio on my ET4G doesn't transfer to the bluetooth headset, but instead comes out of my car speakers. Any workarounds to get the call pushed to Bluetooth when it comes in, or am I stuck just unplugging the 3.5 mm jack?
For your info, I'm currently rooted and running Starburst 1.98, although I'm willing to change that if it can help with the issue. Thanks!
I've been wondering about this too. Seems like you can still talk through the BT headset, but the person you are talking to comes through the speakers instead of the headset.
And I am still completely stock and not rooted BTW.

It works if using car mode

Hmm . . .audio still coming through speakers for me.
It works while i'm my car dock so I guess it won't work through the headphone jack

and havent found a solution....
did a search within the ET4G forums with the term "headset" and this is the best result..

[Q] Headphones and Bluetooh Headset

I am sure this is not specific to the SGS3, but I swear this used to work with my S2.

Is there any way to use the headphones to listen to music, but use the bluetooth headset for calls?
BTW, I am using PowerAmp.
Have you tried changing the order in which you connect the 2 devices. Try making sure you connect the transmitter before connecting the bluetooth headset. You may also need to edit the properties of the bluetooth headset and disable a2dp to prevent music from going to the headset. If all else fails, there should be a button during a call that you can use to switch between bluetooth, speakerphone, handset. Not ideal while driving, though.
One thing Android needs is a proper mixer control panel...

Actually the Headset button is lit up on the in call screen, as if the bluetooth headset is connected for the call. Unfortunately it is still routing through the headset/handset mic.
