Ok this isn't your typical "my phone says it has 16GB" question...
I am using Tasks AOKP ROM
On the internal SD, my phone says that 6.06 GB has been used (on ES File Explorer and Storage)
I run an SD card analyst on ES File Explorer and it can only account for 5.35 GB of data.
Where is that extra 0.71 GB of data? Since yesterday, this has gone up from around 0.66 GB of data I couldn't locate... so that's an extra 50MB that was used I can't account for on top of the whole 0.71 GB I can't account for...
Any ideas?
Have you installed any new apps? Heavy YouTube or internet access?
Could be a variety of reasons. It is only 60mb.
Personally I don't even use internal. If it's being used its used by apps or temporary nandroid backup. Everything I need is on the external micro sd card (titanium backup, nandroid, music, videos and such).

Try an app like cache cleaner and see if that helps?

No it's 0.71 GB of data missing, which is 710 MB of data...
I did a fresh clean wipe and install and it still comes out like this, so the Cache isn't it...

I definitely don't have 710 MB in cache... I'm looking at it now.
Anybody? Any recommendations for another app?

why don't you move some of the installed apps to SD card?!
um, I moved all the apps to SD card I could. Meaning the ones that support moving. I could force move to SD card for some apps, but don't want to screw with that.

That message is there for a reason and if you know what your doing some times it just takes common sense you can move most of your apps to SD card even if the creator of the app doesn't allow it in the app setting 's

How come some phones are okay with less than 20MB free... anyway, arc's internal memory size is way too small... "common sense", huh? Well, I have my own reasons for not wanting to force the apps to SD...

Links2SD works wonderfully for the Xperia 2011 phones.
I did the "move to SD" for every app possible, but still ran into issues downloading games from the Market due to only have 20-70 MB free on the internal phone storage.
But, using Links2SD, creating a 1 GB partition on the SDCard for apps, and moving/linking pretty much everything to that, I have over 150 MB free internal phone storage for app downloading.

It isn't big, but not too small.
Some of us, as I do, have more than 100 apps and ~100MB left.
Once I had 145 apps and 80MB were left, I just use the native App2SD. No Link2SD etc
Do you clear your cache regulary?
Gives me back ~10MB each day

Well, if you compare Arc's internal memory to some other devices' that have 16GB of it, it does seem tiny, doesn't it? I have more than 200 apps and I use Apps2SD, so I move apps to SD if they support it. I used TB to force some huge apks to SD, like Epic Blue and Green themes for CM7, but it's a bit of a pain if you're on one of those themes when you have to reboot, because you have to reapply the theme after the phone boots up. And yes, I wipe cache on daily basis. I'm getting myself 32GB memory card so I'll probably try Link2SD or something like that. I currently have 2 class 8GB card which I got with the phone. Lousy card, lol.
But anyway, I just wanted to know if it was possible to get rid of that Low on space message. Like, okay, I know I'm low on space, I'll see what I can do later, but get the fck away from my status bar now cos you annoy me...

I think we should remove unuseful applications.
Does anyone know the way to backup applications, group them by folder and restore all without asking anything?

Yeah. Stock firmware, 2.3.4, rooted, locked bootloader.

Pvy.
I am rooted and using The EVO Classic Sense Redefined by tommytomatoe. I have moved a lot of my apps to the SD card but have kept those that have widgets that I use or apps like Superuser, BusyBox or others that I fell are essential phone apps in the internal memory (voice-mail).
Are there certain apps that should always be kept in internal memory or am I being over cautious?
BTW, I use Move2SD Enabler to allow more apps the option of being transferred.
Thanks for your comments
Doc
The classic has a2sd built in and if you're partitioned will automatically move the appropriate apps for you
We are legion, for we are many
any app that you use a widget for shouldn't be on the SD card or else the Widgets won't work..

I heard you aren't supposed to move any rooted apps (titanium backup, cachemate, etc) onto the SD card nor any Widgets. Ruins functionality for the app

Some handle it just fine.
I have run Mybackup Pro (with root) from the SDcard.
Just depends on the dev. I have seen several apps that claimed they could be moved, but ran horrible if I did. If I remember right Astro file manager didn't like it, then again, it stayed in memory, so that could have been part of it. I dumped it after seeing that anyhow.
Anything like launchers, alarms, stuff that runs at boot (or on a schedule), and of course widgets I would keep on internal. But I keep everything on internal, with plenty of room to spare. I don't run a ton of apps though, I just keep them backed up and restore if needed. If I don't use them for a week then I uninstall. I can always restore them if I need to.

i have tibackup, rootexplorer and root uninstaller on my sdcard with no ill effect... maybe its a per phone basis.
I never move any widgets to SD. Also ran into perf issues when I moved nav. Pretty much everything else is fine when moved.

If you are just clearing items from the internal SD and not from any system locations then you should be fine. Everything on internal SD is just extra storage for you and your apps. You may lose saves and settings if you were to just clear the whole thing. I would suggest going through and deleting the largest items or moving them to external SD. Use Disk Usage app to view the largest items and see what needs to be moved. Use GL to SD to move large games to the external SD but do note that you MUST launch them from GL to SD if you do this. GL to SD does require root. Also, I would advise deleting pictures and video if you use your camera a lot. Back them up first of course. If you have Google+ installed with it set to auto upload your photos and videos, this won't be a problem.

Hello could anybody explain me this on the pic? How is it possible that I having 25 Gb of internal memory and only using less than 5 Gb in total of pics, apps, music than downloads, it says that I have only 2,41 Gb available?
Thanks

the sub categories only measure specific folders not the entire card. like pictures, videos reports the size of the DCIM folder.
If you add up the different sections it will not include things like CWM backups and custom folders that you add I add folder for CWM zip files called ZIPS to the root of my card
If you look at mine it does the same thing, they dont add up.
but if you look at the details of the internal card from my root file manager it shows I have 7GB used which does add up. dont forget the size differences from GB to MB. 1GB is not 1,000MB
Thanks. So I'll have to erase some back up to free some space, no?
EDIT: it seems that "others" is using the most memory, upon looking up it seems like Titanium Backup folder is the culprit. Some advice?
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
you can transfer your titanium backup files to pc.
Could I transfer them back with no problems later today even if the apps update?
I'll try, thanks
I did but it just freed 6 Gb, it still has a lot of space occupied by "others"..
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
yes you can get it back without problems, look again into your folders.
Check the cwm recovery folder for outdated/unused backups.
When connected to PC you can right click on all the root folders of the sd card and check properties for folder sizes. This should be easier than tapping on phone. That is if your not already doing this.
You may even find a storage app from the market.

I would really like to free up some space on my internal SD. I bought a 64GB SD card , and am using FolderMount to try and move the apps, but to no avail. Anyone figure this out yet? I am rooted running Infamous S4, and have removed all of the bloatware possible. Still really low an memory.
I use the stock file manager to move apps, i had this same problem with storage. Do you have more than one backup saved on your internal sd?

Like I stated in the original post, I am using FolderMount. The problem is the folders where the games should be are empty when I look for them. That is the ones I can find. Its like they don't really exist. I went into my data folder, did find one game, Zynga Poker, and tried to move it, pinned it, and it did absolutely nothing.
Your not moving the whole folder then. Your doing something wrong. Watch a couple YouTube videos on how to. Navigate to SD card, android, data or obb and select one of your games inside either of those two folders
