Hello everyone,
I Admit i didnt post alot in the forum , because i'm a person that prefer to listen and learn then talk without knowing....
I have a samsung gt-s5660 (obviously , if not i wouldn't post this thread ... ) since, i've bought it , i'm facing a really big problem , alot of times , when im talking to someone , I start to hear some interference, which is totally aleatory, i mean , sometimes you hear it and sometimes you don't., but when you do hear it , it becomes impossible to talk.
Since the phone is new , i took it to the store , and 5 times they "reinstalled the operating system" and it didnt solve the problem, so i finally raged and demanded a new phone , which they gave me .... suprisingly i have the same problem, i tried changing my SIM card , refreshed my connection to Orange ,and tried various SIM , and still i have the same problem .
Also when i talk and sudenlly hear the interference , i only hear it , the other side of the line doesn't hear a thing...
To be honest this problem is driving me mad ... I looked all over the internet and couldn't find any solution , this is why i'm making this thread (hopefully in the right section of the forum).
i would be glad if someone could help me solve this problem , beacuse gettng my money back is practically impossible, the phone works great , but the basic thing that a phone should do , i does not
thanks in advance to anyone who can help me .
P.S: sorry for my bad english , its not my main lenguage...
I know i wrote alot so here's the short version : i have a samsung galaxy gio , sometimes when i talk i hear some interference which make the conversation impossible(toally aleatory sometimes you hear it and sometimes you dont) , i took it to the store but they couldn't solve the problem , later on they gave me a new phone and im still facing the same problem , i need help solving this issue because i cant use the phone this way...
thanks in advance
Hi, I'm sorry for the double post, I but im trying to bump this thread so it doesn't get lost in the desert of the unanswered thread's lol.... Can anyone give me any lead on solving this problem... I saw that more then 200 people have viewed this thread but no one posted a response....
I would be very grateful if someone could help me....
Thanks in advance.

Hi - great site loads of good info
Ok i have a few questions i cant seem to work out even after reading ! so no laughing !
Phone is a SPV M2000 on Orange monthly pay sim,
What is a Radio Rom ? - does this mean this phone has a radio built into it ? if so how do i unlock it / get it to work ?
My Operator version is 5.31.1.162 / ROM 1.31.00 but i have some problems with the phone - mainly when the phone rings or i dial people ..... basically we cant hear each other or talk, kind of like its on mute or something ? ..... a soft reset usually sorts it but it is really annoying and happens on and off ...... also the phone seems slow ? ..... i have slid the memory line over to 2/3 system memory but still a very slow i think ? .... ive tried searching for a patch that someone talked about but cant find anything ?
Can i upgrade to a new ROM ? ..... id like a UK spec if possible as i don't want funny things going on to the system in foreign languages !!! i have seen a T mobile one, could i use this ?
i have just done the sim unlock and it seems to be ok although i haven't tried on another sim yet
please try and keep it simple, with good links etc if needs be
Thanks in advance
Dave
Hi
Ill answer what I can, as im pretty new to this too.
The radio is not a FM type radio, but the electronics that do things like WIFI and Bluetooth.
The no sound issue is a well reported bug.
I have an orange spvm too and I had it replaced.
The support line took ages to acknowledge the fault, but in the end replaced the phone and this so far is working well.
If for you it does not, then by law you can reject the phone as having an inherrent fault regardless of how old it is, as it was not of mechantable quality when you got it.
The speed,
I noticed that even when you click the little X in the top corner, the app is still running, so this will slow it down.
Your best bet maybe to every now and then do a soft reset just to clean things up.
The Tmobile Rom.
Not sure, as Im also thinking about this.
What I want to know is , will this Rom give me Tmobile settings?

Hi Dave - Welcome.. Remember, we all have to start somewhere..
The first thing I would recommend is reading.. I'm not too sure if you've discovered the Wiki on here but this is truely the best place to start..
So, simple links:
Start here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel
A link from this page (titled Getting Started With Your Blue Angel) will lead you to updating your BA to where it will be of most benefit.
This is where you need to start thinking of what's of more use to you.. I, for example, have not updated my BA to WM2005 (or WM5 as it's more commonly known) as I would not be able to Sync with my Work PC easily. In other words, the latest is not always the best! You need to think of how you're going to use your BA and by trial and error, get to your own conclusions. Although saying that, feel free to seek advice on how others have reached a similar conclusion.
If a "seach" (top of the screen - Highly recommended  ) doesn't reveal an answer you're looking for then a simple post with something like "Having problem "X".. Anyone else have it..?" is a lot better then "NEEDED - ANSWER TO MY WORRIES!"
This is outlined here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=4534
My second piece of advice is to make sure you know what you're doing.. If fiddling with yor BA is going to lead you somewhere you don't know then perhaps fiddling with it is not what you should do. I don't want to see posts from you stating "HELP - MY BA's BU**ERED!" because you thought that Reading Wiki was for saddos
Remember - Don't run before you can walk..
Tip for Hearing problem - Turn on the Bluetooth and keep it on.. This is a well documented tip for solving the issue.. Updating to the 1.42.00 Spec ROM will also help too but you're right in saying that it will give you the T-Mobile settings.. What you can do there is use the search facility to find if someone has posted a .CAB file with the Orange SMS/MMS Settings
So, start reading..
Hope this helps..?
Cheers,
Hi Dave
Great response by Mr Philly and I wholly endorse everything that is stated.
I am also a newbie (I think this is my first post) and if you want to know anything, wiki is the place to go.
There is a newer Orange UK ROM avalible (Not as new as the T-Mobile ROMs and part of which I have used in my own update) and if you follow the steps through wiki you find out how to apply the roms and where to find them.
I have read in this forum on a number of occassions don't mess with it unless you are prepared to lose it and that must be kept in mind. That said I been really pleased this the usage and function with my SPV since making the ROM updates and my thanks goes to a number of very gifted contributors.
Good luck
simjo.
Hi Guys -
Listen, many thanks for taking the time to reply .... I have read a fair bit but was starting to get muddled up with all the acronyms etc .......
But i now have a more important issue at hand ...... i went out last night and lost my 512 memory card (bugger !) ...... must have un clicked out (i was a bit merry last night) ..... anyway ...... i went to use the phone this morning and its silent ...... no sounds whatsoever, no ring tone , no key pad tones , no sound when playing media files etc .... silent as a whistle .......
long story short i reset it (soft) first ........ no joy ...... then hard reset ..... when booting up it pings and makes a few sounds, so the speaker is obvisously working ....... then once reset its silent again ..... ???
But this is the really bizarre thing ..... if you plug it into the mains charger it all works fine, with loads of lovely sound !!!! ....
Ive made sure the sound is turned up to max and its not on silent etc btw
Time to read the forum i think ! ...... the only thing i did last week was unlock it ..... but its been working fine since then ?
cheers
Dave
next weird update !
after 2 days i have upgraded to the latest roms etc and the phone still had no sound .... i left it on charge for a full day overnight etc , still no sound ...... came to play with it this morning and there it is all working as good as new !!!! ...... lovely sound etc, all normal ......... go figure that one out ?????
hi, i have a tytn II , when i make a videocall to any device who supported 3g this answer me like a voice call. And if any device want make a videocall to me the dial signal is present, but I don't see anything on my device. please help me, cause i cant find any solve to my problem !!!!
man, tytnII does not equal to hermes, need to post at right forum if you want help.
This is the 3rd or 4th I've seen coming to the wrong forum for help in the last couple of weeks.... It's sad they don't know what device they've got....
sorry , i've got the right way
here's the thing,
everyone knows that Universal is a bit slower than some other PDAs though it has better specifications
a while ago i wrote a thread here asking how to make it faster espicially in a game like Explode arena .. but no one answered
well, i forgot that and just lived with it .. but after a while i changed back to Helmi's WM5 and i tried the Bluetooth stack that he created (unibt.cab) but it didn't work well so i decided to remove it
when i removed it and restarted the phone .. the bluetooth and the sound didnt work and i knoew i had to do a hard reset or something
but i noticed the PDA is was actually faster .. and i opened the game {explode arena} which was very slow .. and it was working fine .. i don't konw how that happened
but sure i had to change the windows gain to get bluetooth and sound back
so, anyone has an idea what happened there ?
why did the device get faster when bluetooth and sound went off ?
maybe we can find a way to make this thing go faster cause i actually like it
Please DO NOT DOUBLE POST, doing it won´t help to get a reply sooner and you can get banned.
Wait to have an answer by a member.
i just didn't know where 2 put it
Hello , i know there are alot of posts regarding this issue , but , my cellphone is just freakin out.
(My english ain't that good so i'll try to do the best i can.)
I really got some problems with this device so i am hoping for someone to help me.
The HTC i buyed from someone said it wassn't rooted, he lied. The first thing i thought was : Well, not a big deal , when rooted he has more options..Well, the most annoying thing is that their is a map ASTRO on my cellphone , i guess its the card where the jailbraik all begun , but it says its outdated and i have to update it, UPDATE WHAT?
Well, i just want my cellphone to be unrooted , why?
Very easy: My messages cant be sended , then it starts to send ALL my messages that failed delivering , and i mean ALL , every little message gets a retry , conclussion ? 5 hours of vibrating in my pants till i restart.
Also , when i wanna type something , it sometimes just dont react, i get a vibrating sound for touching my letters , but they wont get in the messaging field ..
Now the funnyiest thing, i cant send messages anymore , to no one , and every line i call is occupied, so , now i wanna know is. Does somebody knows what i CAN do to let this phone operate normally like a normal phone, i really like this one so...
Once again , sorry for my english.

But how i have to do that? Iam kind off a noobie atm regarding rooting/unrooting, if someone could help me.I've also read about a bootloader, but i cant find any help regarding my Bootloader.
Well, I thought I'd let you guys know, my defy went to the official motorola service, now, before someone starts posting "room full of people who cares" pics, I'll tell you what where it's symptoms and maybe you can tell me if any had any similar issues.
A little background:
I'm in Argentina, and I got my defy from "Personal" ( that's the carrier) which has a 2.2.1 rom ( if I'm not wrong )
I used it for a bit and it was working so well that I didn't feel the need to mess with it.
Then, I started missing some stuff and I decided to install CM7 (rc1, v2), to see how it performed.
All good, for a while, but then, the following started happening:
- 5~8 times out of ten, sms's wouldn't go out ( and I had to re-send them until they did )
- I got delays on getting messages, and on other people receiving them.
- Sometimes I wouldn't get to answer a call, just got a "missed call notification SMS"
- Sometimes calls would drop when answering them
- FM radio started being CRAP, and getting either stuck on, or wouldn't turn on after being interrupted by other notifications.
- frecuent freezing .
I guessed it was CM7, so, deceided to get back to stock, and maybe rooting, just for kicks.
I went back to stock, but the problems kept happening.
And that's why I sent it to service.
Anyone got any similar issues?
I wounder if you had forgot ‘full wipe’?
This sounds like an intermittent connection somewhere in the phone hardware.

lol, of course I did wipe, I didn't got into GREAT detail of everything i did because it would be WAY to boring, but, I did tried a lot of stuff before sending it back.
I kind of know my way around android, but I don't blame you for asking, I've seen a lot of uninformed posts around here ( nothing wrong with that, not everyone has time, the patience, or the interest to spend HOURS figuring stuff out, and learning about android )

Yup, I also thought it could be either a SEVERE overage problem ( like a signal black hole in my apartment) , or a defective sim card , but I'm using my old HTC G1 for now, and it's working great, so, both of those are out.
Maybe ,your phone’s baceband does not fit for the sevice, download some app to change the baseband.
Many peope have the same problem reflected by forum in my conutry as far as i know. Most of them solve the problem by changing baceband.
(My english is so bad...but I really want to help you.)

If the baseband was incorrect, it wouldn't get signal at all.
Plus, the phone was bought in argentina, so the argentina stock rom for the carrier HAS the right baseband, and I still got issues.
I have no other explanation for it than faulty hardware.
Thanks, though, I know you're trying to help ; )
