I am trying to keep my Kindle on the stock software (I'm still on the amazon ROM not MoDaCo) but I was wondering if you can flash beats on the gingerbread stock rom? I was searching on xda but I couldn't find anything on here.

Is there some sort of an issue with ROMs using the 3.0 kernel where you can't use clockwork mod to flash it? I've tried two different ones and none have worked.

Yes
You need to use TWRP to flash it.

Does anyone know of a good standalone temp-root app for kindle fire.

Custom recovery provides temporary root access.
I'm continually stuck at a running cm 10 boot animation upgrading from cm7 to a combined kernel/cm10 ROM flash. I followed the directions, wiped as I should have. I'm also unable to restore my backup. Flashing to a working rom would be great, I'm just not sure what to flash at this point.

Are you sure you are on the right device?
Can you get into recovery by holding Power-Volume Up-Home when it boots?
What is wrong with your backup?
I think this was meant for the Kindle Fire

Well I have had good fun with the original kindle, and thank all the devs for their hard work, but time to sell it and move on. I thought I could download the update from amazon and just flash it back to stock, but the file I downloaded from amazon is a .bin file. How can I get rid of FFF TWRP and go back to a pure stock kindle?
just rename bin to update.zip and install in recovery

Just to let you know a rooted fire may be worth more.

Hello,
I have a kindle fire 2 and recently rooted it using this guide, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2075959, and then I used this guide, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2100963&highlight=recovery, to add twrp so I can flash CM. Everything seemed to go well except that I am unable to enter recovery mode. When booting normally it works fine and loads into the kindle OS but obviously, I want to replace that. I have tried searching the forums and trying a few different things but so far nothing has worked. I'm open to any suggestions or ideas.
