Hi guys,
I wonder if anyone could help me. I am a not so experienced user who managed to unlock the bootloader and and root my ARC S (4.1.B.0.587).
But after that I destroyed my ARC by flashing a wrong system file with fastboot! Dont ask me why I did that it was stupid I thought I was doing something else. The result is that my ARC stops at Sony logo.
I searched the XDA site and I found this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1813414 where a user has posted a pre-rooted system.img. I flashed this system file but no luck
Can anyone please help?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126358 Flash that then try again.

I have been searching around the forums for help on reflashing a stock rooted ROM for the Xperia Arc.
I'm kinda new to rooting, and recently flashed Cyanogenmod 7.1 onto my Arc. I would now like to return back to a rooted stock SE ROM - what is the easiest way to achieve this?
Sorry if this is a double post
Any help appreciated
Have a read of the stickys - http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=963
Thanks
Managed to reflash the Stock ROM
I go crazy and don't find anything
Can you please give me a little more details on how you did it? For me no boot.img is working with the rooted image I have to my phone.
Thanks a lot!

how do i flash without cwm?
you don't flash stock firmware with CWM any way.
Suggest you read some of the threads here.
You will need flashtool and the stock ftf file for r800x , or you could use Sony ericsson suite thingy.

hi,
is there anyway how i can re-install the stock Sony ICS firmware for my Xperia arc LT15i?
first i had CM9, and then i tried to install Ice Bean which went completely wrong, and now i cannot connect to my sd card, to reinstall CM9
it only shows the freeXperia logo, and i can enter the clockworkmod recovery but since i dont have the CM9 rom on the sd card, my phone is useless.
many thanks!

Well, if you have a card reader, mp3 player, alternate phone or anything with microSD slot, you could always use those as a medium to transfer your rom to the microSD card.
Another workaround is to reflash the stock sony rom via flashtool and the same procedure you used to flash custom roms/kernels

I couldn't find any threads that are helpful to me.. so i had to post a new one.
I have a Xperia arc with lock bootloader. I flashed the lt18i 4.1.B.0.587 one day and installed Xperia Ultimate HD. I decided to go back to stock rom because UHD didn't have the features I expected.. so i flashed the lt18i ftf again via flashtool.i rooted it and installed CWM. Everything works fine.
Then i tried to restore a backup that was made before i flashed lt18i firmware.( my phone was on lt15i 0.587 stock rom at that time)
I tried to restore it on LT18i firmware to have more free space and it actually succeeded. But when i reboot it to homescreen it's just keep saying "keypad force close". i thought it was because the backup was based on lt15i firmware and it's not compatible with 18i firmware...
so i flashed lt15i .587 firmware but i exclude system because i still wanted to have 420MB space and i thought i should do it in this way ( i didn't know if it works or not) unfortunately, i was wrong and the phone stuck on sony logo.
the story hasn't ended. I flashed the LT15i .587 firmware again and this time the phone booted successfully. I rooted and install CWM as i did before.. i rebooted my phone and when sony logo appeared i kept on pressing volume down key but it couldn't get into CWM and was stuck on sony logo.I had to pull out the battery . After that i booted my phone again without trying to get into CWM and it succeeded. So basically everything works fine except stuck on sony logo when i try to boot in CWM.
I need CWM for installing good mods and backup and all kinds of stuff but i couldn't work it out and couldn't find a thread about it. I don't wanna unlock bootloader as well. Please help !!
p.s sorry for bad English and the story seems too long and a bit confusing... i just wanna make it more detailed...
Dude, at the aame time youre flashing kernel. Thats the issue. Just flash lt18 ftf and stick with it. It should work fine. Dont revert back to a lt15 backup, because of kernel incompability.

Flash the ftf file again, wipe everything and tick the "no final verification" checkbox.

This is really a strange problem indeed! I had the same issue on LB! But mine dint go to CWM and booted directly into device! I tried all sorts of solutions but in vain! At last, I just flashed entirely from the beginning.
1. FTF (Format everything)
2. Root
3. Recovery
And everything is still fine after that!

That's exactly what i've done.
I flash the LT18i 4.1.B.0.587 ftf( entire rom) and rooted my phone with E-root, install CWM with cmd... and it works fine if i don't try to boot into CWM. But if i press the volume down button repeatedly when sony logo appears, blue light turns on...the screen gets brighter, and then blue light disappears, and just stuck on it.

Which build are you trying to root with this method. If you are on FW 244, this will not work. I think it was a root method for 4.1.2 (cant remember which build) and not 4.2.2
On 244, you need to flash the Kernel of FW. 423, root using DoomLord's latest tool and flash the Kernel back to FW. 244.
