S Note lag when starting new note

Has anyone noticed that when you start a new note, there's about a 3-5 second lag between the time you tap and when the new note opens?
Is there a setting to speed that up?

This does annoy. I await a fix as well

Mine comes up instantly. There isnt anything that I would call lag. It comes up in the half second to one second range

[Q] Lock Screen

Hello,
Awesome site!
I am currently having an issue where my lock screen will not work. As in, when my phone times out and i hit the power button, no lock screen. It literally boots right into the home screen. I have gone through all of the settings, disable, enabled, changed the type of lock and what not.
Has anyone else ran into this issue?

I have already searched the forums for the anyone who has a similar issue and have found nothing.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to resolve this issue, it would be greatly appreciated!
I would imagine that a fresh install would fix this and I will have no problems doing so if that is the only solution.
Looking to see if there is an actual cause for this and if it can be repaired without reloading.

I think im having a similiar issue, when I timeout I cant get phone to wake ... takes like 20 seconds, like its all fragged out...
Then when it does wake its on the power down reboot menu.
This is my second s4 last one no issues.

Anyone else having lock screen issues? Can anyone provide any insight on why it is happening or what else i should try to make the lock screen behave the way its intended?
I'd hate to have to do a fresh install...and then have it happen again..

What you described in the first post is normal. Say you're reading an online news article and your screen times out, pressing the power button instantly brings you back to that article instead of to your lock screen. It's a controllable feature in my next ROM release.

It is not normal that my phone does not lock at all under any circumstance.
Clearly, i didn't describe my issue very well in my OP.
My lock screen does not work at all, no matter what the settings are.

You said when it times out.. and you press the power button.. it doesn't show the lock screen. I could of swore that's what I read lol.
So even if you leave your phone sit for say five minutes with the screen off there is no lock screen?

You're correct, that is what you read...that was a poor example with little to no detail.
Yes, even when my phone timed out and was left for 5 minutes, it did not lock.
I believe I have resolved the issue by disabling cLock within app manager. Once i did this, it didn't resolve the issue immediately but within the hour, my phone timed out and when I hit the power button, it was locked. I have re-enabled cLock and all seems to be working fine as far as my phone locking when it is suppose too. The issue I'm having now is that my cLock widget settings are not taking effect on the lock screen. As in, color and font boldness. I guess, its better then not working at all..
Maybe you have some insight or suggestions on how to fix this current issue.

First time i heard of "cLock" is it an app on the play store or something? And yes that was gonna be my second recommendation, that there seemed to be an app or some other thing preventing the lock screen from showing.

I would say remove the lockscreen widget and add it again. If that doesn't work, try using a different size widget... I seem to remember having some problems with cLock but I can't remember exactly what I did..

Woop Woop! Just walked out of a tmo store with my new s6 edge!!! This phone is awesome. How's everyone like it?

Loving it so far. A couple hours of work and I can play some more. Anyone have any tips for standby drain. On my note 4 I lost like 2 percent over night. Last night I went from 99% to 70% in 6 hours. Lmao it is because I'm rooted?

Yes, Rooting the device causes it to lose the deep sleep functionality for some reason.
To fix this do a restore in KIES

Download booster. It allows you to download files combining data and WiFi connections.

In the S6 edge phone description it lists it as 2.1 Ghz processor. Mine is only 1.5Ghz.
Is 2.1 Ghz the overseas version?

4 cores are 400-1500... 4 cores are 800-2100

Anyone else having an issue with the Smart Lock feature?
From what I understand it should disable the screen lock when a trusted Bluetooth device is connected.
Still, when I have my bluetooth headphones connected, I still have to use finger unlock.
Also, when spotify is running, I can't unlock directly (i.e. press the main button and just wait for the fingerprint scan), instead I have to swipe to unlock, and then scan fingerprint.

I am facing the same issue !!!

I need some help with specific info please HELP! Its not software problem but i know here are the smartest ppl so please i have salt water damaged s6 edge I power it on with power supply for now but i need and looking for s6 Edge battery connector the one soldered to motherboard but i find only on one place and price is not fair!So i start searching for s6 and they look the same but need to know will fit or they are not the same.

Does anyone know a solution to get out of bootloop after flashing latest OI1 FIRMWARE through odin and performing a factory reset cache wipe? I've tried adb side load successfully but still loops at logo and I've flashed bootloader files modem kernel etc separate together over and over to no avail!! All the flashes are successful but still looping. I did notice that the bootloader value on the download screen has been changed from b:2 to b:3 so flashing any older firmware will fail and show errors on phone so that isn't a possible fix. I did get samsung smart switch recovery mode load and when it restarted the phone still looping so I've wiped and reset again also adding twrp to the phone and custom kernel but that doesn't help either. Please anyone else who had this issue or know of a fix

Turbo 2 Marshmallow Impressions / Questions

Starting a thread, since it seems it's officially out.
Let's share our impressions of the update, and any questions or issues that you've encountered.

First Impression:
Looks and feels almost exactly the same as before so far. App drawer is exactly the same. Colors, the same, etc.
However, moving the up or down button doesn't give you the option to change the do not disturb (you could make it priority or no disturbances). You can still mute/go to vibrate by clicking on the 'bell' icon, and if you click the down arrow, you can change volumes on music and alarms.
Edit: you can swipe down twice/swipe down with two fingers from notifications bar, and the Do Not Disturb option is in the lowest right corner of the toggles. Tapping it will allow you to do Do Not Disturb settings. Note: once you click it, it automatically enables do not disturb.
I miss the old way. Anyone know how to change it back and/or a quick way to get to that?
Also, Now On Tap is not enabled by default. You have to go to Settings/Google/Search&Now/Now on Tap

Accessing Google Now has changed. Instead of swiping up from bottom of screen, you have to hold the 'home' icon (the circle in the middle of the triangle and square).
If you have turned on 'Google On Tap', contextual cards will pop up as determined by On Tap. If you click the 'G' below, you'll get to Google Now. If you're tired of On Tap you can click the three circles near the G to turn it off.

I really thought Verizon was waiting for the Marshmallow update to add wifi calling capability to the Turbo 2, but it's still nowhere in sight. Why do the iPhone and Samsung get the wifi calling feature and not the Droid-branded Verizon flagship?

My son and I are using Turbo 2s on T-Mobile and got the update OTA today. That was nice but now both our LTE is limited to 1 mbps. Running SpeedTest it starts at 5 to 8 and then drop to 1 and flat lines there.
My wife is getting mid 30s with her N6 which is what I got at home before the update.
Be interesting if anyone else running a Turbo 2 not on Verizon has the same issue.

Well, found a fix... Kinda. I was scratching my head over this and searched T-Mobile throttling. Turns out with our Turbo 2s on Marshmallow T-Mobile's Binge On service is applied to ALL my data. Once I turned it off our speeds came back.
In case anyone else is using their Turbo 2 on T-Mobile here are the dial codes to check and switch Binge on and off.

It is a set of hidden tweaks, like Quick Menu options and Status Bar Icons. You unlock it by pulling down the quick menu and holding the gear for several seconds. Here is a basic overview: http://www.androidcentral.com/inside-marshmallow-system-ui-tuner

I do not like the new dialer. And they never fixed the phone/audio jack problem... I have to hit speaker phone when using the jack making a call.

Not being a smart arse, and you probably know this, but I figured it was worth mentioning that you can use google hangouts to make wifi calls.. If you use a VPN this can work anywhere in the world for free

Reboot and try again. It doesn't seem to unlock on the fresh install.

Had to uninstall waze because it kept force closing every few minutes. It happened when I updated yesterday.

There are 4 ways to access the toggles in in your notifications pull down:
1. swipe down twice from notification bar
2. swipe down with two fingers from notification bar
3. swipe down once from notification bar, and tap the grey notification area
4. triple tap on notification bar
I just found out about the fourth way and it's the easiest way for me to access it.

I have had marshmallow running a few days now and I am having severe battery drain from "Android system " under battery usage. I have factory reset 3 times . I can't seem to find out the issue. It seems like it just won't sleep and is constantly syncing or something.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Maybe you can reflash the official firmware if it is available yet. I have not heard of this issue.

Edge panel lagging?

Anyone else experiencing a 1 to 2 second lag when attempting to open the edge panel? I'm hoping this is a known thing and will send an update to correct this!

I think it made the whole phone lag. I ended up turning it off

I have the same problem. it's disappointing. i tried changing to different ones or even stick to the originals (like people edge) that they are so proud to show off. but it sucks. it's so laggy and slow, it ruins the experience and the idea. so unoptimized.
i love using it, but the laggy experince gets on my nerves
