Pacman Rom port dev - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hey any dev interested in porting the
P.a.c. Man rom to our device?
He says the more ports the better
Sent from my Paranoid SGH-T989 with KKO

I just gave our device (skyrocket) a build from source, should be easy enough to get it to flash on the Hercules.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2

just tried flashing the skyrocket build on the hercules but giving a failed error in CWM

Open the zip find the updater script and replace with this one:
http://db.tt/GxuzGdFt
Then flash again

if there was a device profile for you guys id compile nightlies for ya, however im not gunna take each nightly and edit it after compiling for use with us cellular, sorry i dont have that kind of time. if you had a device profile like this https://github.com/EpicCM/android_device_samsung_epic4gtouch then i could merge it in and add it to my build script, would take it maybe 20 mins extra to make it :/
my suggestion is to get a modified device repo going and then you could have a from source build
Downloading 6/19... so I just flash this straight over 6/18 from recovery? Should I wipe everything beforehand????
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Looks like the nightly is done uploading. ~35 downloads while the md5 was still changing (good half a dozen were mine) ;-)
Sorry if I ask this....might be common knowledge, oh well. I'm on 6-18 nightly atm, if I want to update to 6-19 (I'm already using goo.im from the play store, and already dl the rom) can I just use the included safe CW from 6-18 to flash? If so, After flashing do I need to do anything else? Thanks again for the help..

Is this based off of the tmobile or at&t leak? Is it safe to flash custom kernels?

Installer is out till next build. If you flash this on top of cm9 without doing super wipe, you get all the customization settings of aokp. It can be its own rom or an add on for cm9

I'll be flashing over aokp... And just do a darkside cache wipe correct? And the installer is like twrp or are these 2 different things? it mentions about choosing boot animations and etc.. Could I say flash the cm9 boot animation but keep my aokp?? Probably a stupid question.

1.1 will not have installer. But when it does come out, a screen will pop up after you flash the zip and it'll give you options to install different stuff, kernel, boot animation etc. Its pretty cool

My phone is not as snappy compared to plain aokp and I am using Eugene's kernel.. Any reason why this is happening? Also I don't see a huge difference between this and AOKP so so far I don't see the big deal. Please help this uninformed user as to why I don't see it. I see wallpaper choices and some new tweaks I have no clue about. Thanks

Like any other rom full wipe to avoid any hiccups and flash away
1)Make sure you're on a verified safe CWM
2)Make a Nandroid
3)Wipe data/factory reset in recovery
4)Wipe cache/dalvik-cache
5)Flash ROM [DO NOT FLASH FROM AGATS, SLESHPICS OR RUJULEUS RECOVERY!]
6)Flash JB GAPPS
7)Reboot and enjoy

RootBox Port Discussion Thread {NEED TESTERS} (Download link!)

So, as some of you may know, I sold my S2 T989 and upgraded to the Nexus 4. That's why I have to rely on testers to test my ROM's. Some people have been asking me to try porting RootBox, and voila! I ported it! The problem is that I can't test it myself so I need some people who would like to test. I promise it won't brick anyone.
This thread will also be a discussion thread for the port. If you need help flashing it or something else related to this port, just ask and I'll try to help . I'll also update this thread often with updates on how the port's going.
Just leave a comment down below and/or shoot me a PM if you try this and see if it boots, runs well, etc.

Questions & Answers
Q: What device is this ported from?
A: This port was ported from the international Galaxy S2 (i9100).

A: 1. Format System
2. Wipe data/Factory reset (skip if coming from an earlier version OR AOKP)
2. Flash ROM
3. Flash Gapps (latest 4.2.1 Gapps from goo.im should work fine)
4. Any other addons you would like.
5. Reboot
Q: What Android Version is this?
A: Android 4.2.1
Q: What ROM did I use as the Hercules base for the port?
A: AOKP Jelly Bean MR1 (4.2.1) Build 3
If you have any other questions that you think should be added to this, let me know and I'll add them.

Stock Kernels (look under ZIP DIR)
http://rwilco12.com/downloads.php?dir=Files/Devices/Samsung Galaxy S3 (SPH-L710)/Kernels/
Jellybean came with SPH-L710_LJ7_Stock_Kernel.zip
Here's a modded ma4 kernel...
boot.img support, init.d, custom bootanimation & adb...
http://db.tt/IpBAdPhn
Thanks guys but after realizing all the versions of the kernel I just want these latest version that works with PACman rom. I don't know if there are 4.2 only kernels but whatever is the latest for non 4.2 roms.
Thanks.
[email protected]
Which zip file do I choose for the kernel? They all seem different.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
The question still stands. I have no idea what SIH MA4 or LJ7 stand for or what type my phone is.
Cheers.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
MA4 was the Jellybean 4.1.2 leak
LJ7 was the Jellybean official update (4.1.1)
Sent from my PG06100
So I should choose SJ7?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Looking back at your question and your replies above, I can tell you that there are NO 4.2 stock kernels, because that update hasn't even come yet
Now if you want the kernel for 4.1.2, grab the MA4 boot.img that ImEVO posted above
If you want the kernel for 4.1.1, find a rom based on that (it'll say LJ7 in the thread title, meaning its based on that update) and grab its boot.img (the kernel is stored in there)
Sent from my PG06100

Post the boot image an I'll extract the kernel for you from it
The boot.img contains other stuff too, so its probably best to make a backup and then just flash the kernel
