Hello people,
I have a HTC One V and I use the myONEv RC6.0 FX+ of the user ckpv5 of this forum.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647052 for references.
I use the kisskernel overclocked to 1.5 hgz and undervolted.
I got 2 buddies with the same phone and same settings and it works fine for them.
Now my phone won't start any more and it won't react to anything. I also tried to charge it but it still won't react.
Thank you for your time.

SCENARIO 1: MOST DANGEROUS!! NOW FIXABLE
All One Series phoneshaving been facing this problem of QHSUSB_DLOAD where the phone is completely bricked and rendered unusable. It has been reported by many people that pressing Volume Up + Power instead of Volume Down + Power can be a deadly mistake...You have to send the phone to HTC and they will repair it but instead you could avoid this brick by being a tad bit careful and not pressing the Volume Up instead of Down...
This is just one case but it may also happen in other cases but this is easily avoidable unlike others which just happen out of the blue...This is one precaution which can help you.
SCENARIO 2: POTENTIAL BRICK!
Also if battery is extremely either switch it off or wait for it to switch off...Do Not REBOOT YOUR PHONE...That might just cause this above error as well....
SCENARIO 3: TOOOO LONG!
Do not hold your Vol Down +Power Down for toooo long like 10+seconds or it might cause a brick. IF it doesnt go to bootloader or if you are scared use this fastboot command: adb reboot bootloader or try the button combination again..
SCENARIO 4: STAY AWAY FROM ROM MANAGER
Please stick to the safe way of flashing by accessing recovery manually and refrain from the use of Rom Manager..It uses fakeflash which is potentially dangerous for most phones...
SCENARIO 5: THE UNPRECEDENTED ONE!
The above scenario just happens..It might have no proper explanation like it happened to someone while he was talking on the phone...etc

Pretty ridiculous that a simple key combination can brick a phone. Hopefully HTC fixes this ASAP.
Wow wtf. Nice heads up.
:good: I bricked my phone this way, too. so this warning is no joke! thank God HTC replaced my phone instead of repair it. for root user, I recommend you to use reboot app, so you can avoid this deadly brick.

Wow..
Not that I doubt any of the info given here, earlier I did try vol+ and pwr a few times and get into some kind of download mode, so I rebooted and nothing changed. So maybe it is something in addition to getting into that mode.
Can this maybe be used to get s-off? Download mode sounds like something that might be able to write to hboot

dude this happened to me two times when you will hold power and vol down at the same time for 10-20 seconds phone will be dead...i know that power and vol down makes phone go into BL but if you press both at the same time for a while that leads your phone to dead(In my case two times)....

Yup, I can confirm. This is what happened to me. I didn't press Vol Up, just Down + Power and I think I held it for too long, then I got the dreaded UHUSB_DLOAD error.
It's at HTC right now, so hopefully get it back soon.
So you can press volume up + power at any time and it'll just brick your phone? Do you have to hold it? Seriously... I can't believe a phone gets released in this state. I will never buy another HTC phone again.
The *intended* function of Vol Up + Power is actually for accessing stock recovery after you choose it in bootloader :O Have no idea why it'll be linked to bricking.
The phone is stuck at HTC logo.. and gets switched off.. And I also can't enter Bootloader.. ( is this what is called many say BRICKED ?? ) Please help me out guys.. I was flashing ARHD 7.0.3 and it's S-OFF
Thanks in advance..!
Take out the battery then hold down power and volume down should boot into recovery.

No luck mate done that many times.. If I hold the UP Volume button.. the phone vibrates for 3-4 times and the orange LED flashes... No luck with DOWN Volume button with power Just phone switches off..
Hold volume down button and while holding it down then press the power button. Phone must be off for that to work.
Edit: Grant barker, you deserve a thanks just for taking your time to write all of that
Sent from a dream.
I agree with ben hogin and Teichopsia.
1. Make sure the battery is charged enough.
2. Take the battery out and put it back in. This resets something. (Make sure the battery cover is secure too.)
3. Hold down the volume down key and then press the power key (while still holding down the volume down key).
4. (I usually do this with the phone usb disconnected. Not sure if it makes a difference.)
I'd also take out the SD Card just to eliminate some contact issue or something with that. When I'm desperate I try anything..
I did all those and I just went to the mobile store where I always buy phones ( kinda close ) so he said he has to do this ztag..

It´s jtag...anyway, to be bricked means that u can´t even turn the phone on. The question is how did u get to that state? have u installed anything or was just stock?
If you tried flashing something then the file could have been corrupted or maybe was not for your phone. That won´t brick your phone unless u flash a bootloader (included in RUU's) that is not for your device.
If you were stock, then the most common issue is a messed volume rocker, but could be something else related to hardware. :good:
My bets on volume rocker problems.
it happend to me as well try to use RUU its the only way.
Hey guys!

What happens when you plug the phone in? Does the green/orange led light up? If it does what color? Best case scenario, you have a bad cable or a bad adaptor and your phone wasn't charging. Worst case, fried board, dead battery or dead screen (phone is on, just the screen isn't lighting up).
The orange or green light dont come on soo what now??

You can try hooking it up to a PC and see if the PC can still find your phone. But from the sounds of it, it maybe a hardware failure somewhere. I would contact HTC if it's under warranty to have it repaired.
I ahd the same problem, dead - even power did not help
Try putting it on power overnight.
I hvae it in service for now, (but I used CM10 - and it broke down) I just hope the service will not have any problems with it and don't see it, for changing my hole motherboard

After having rooted it did they fix it?
Just flashed Ice Cold Jelly and rebooted but I seem to have no power to the unit now.
Obviously the bootloader is unlocked and it is rooted so I wasn't sure if they'd even work on it or what it would cost to do so. It is still under warranty.
When you connect the phone to a pc and it comes up as APX = Hardware failure ! As far as i know there is no fix for this
They changed my motherboard and I got it back . Didn't have to pay nothing.

Found it.
I tryed everything, nothing worked. After the JB update the hox only shows his logo.
Last time i let him receive the big JB update, but before installing it i made a copy to update.zip on the root of the sd.
Then after installing the update and again only showing the htc logo, i rebooted in the recovery and used custom recovery to write the boot again. Now everything works .
Thx anyway.
Keep up the good work here:good::good::good:

lol you bricked your phone by installing an ROM meant for the international One X, not the dual core version.
HTC one international ICJ bricked
Hi all,
Please forgive me if I've done something wrong posting here, I'm new here and I'm trying to post in the most relevant forum.
I have the international HTC One X (Tegra 3 etc) and Ive been using Ice Cold Jelly for a while. Yesterday I flashed Ice Cold 2.2 (the one meant for the international) with all the recommended wipes using TWRP. The phone worked fine for about 10 mins then froze with a messed up screen. I tried to reboot but it froze again during the reboot and hasn't turned on since. There's no LED at all when it's plugged in charging to any power source and it won't boot up no matter what I do.
I've done my best to search for solutions but to no avail, any advice anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!:fingers-crossed:

It doesn't seem to be recognised by any operating system at all - as in the operating systems can't see it. There's no notification of hardware failure or even a device being connected.
What happends when you hold the power button and the volume - button together for a long time.....say like 30 seconds

Yeah that's the only thing that can happen, keep it on the charger or pc usb connection....hope it comes back to life !
I have a same problem, My htc one is bricked when I went to update it to the latest orginal android via gprs, my battery had 40% charge and the updating process was on 75% and it is turned off, now when i connect it to the windows 8 the windows tell me something connected to usb but I can not access to anything on my phone and the phone not charging via charger....
Is here anyone to tell me how to fix it or is it fixable or not please?
My device is working normally. Charged about 45% battery. I play some songs with my speaker. Its working just before i plug it out and go to my computer to copy game. Then i plug the phone up to my computer and see no happen to my phone, no led. Try to turn it on by using Power+ Volume Down but no happen. What should i do and what is wrong with my phone? No driver's installed at time. Just plugout speaker(still working normal) then plug into computer via usb cable but nothing(the problem is here).. so is there any solution?. Btw im from vietnam so its hard to sent it back to HTC because this phone i bought from HongKong so they will not take it( the international ones). Please help
keep in charge for some time
if still not working ur outta luck
hard brick happened to many here.. evn if people are on stock and non rooted

No responding ..nothing. Full Charged last night. May my device is bricked. But i wonder what make it go brick?
Nothing it just happens. Hold power for ten seconds and then hold down for 5. See if that works
Sent from my HTC One V using xda app-developers app
Try using that tool
dude keep it aside for one complete day,
dont charge or anything,
if still it does not work then lets just hope its super hard bricked so that HTC does not know u rooted the phone!
first of all i would like to say sorry for my rudeness, poor english and noobness to the people of hox...
so yeah my phone is a piece of brick now.. currently on 4.1.1 jellybean stock rom no root or any modification, so basically its a stock original virgin rom without alteration.
how unlucky of me after update my phone. the problem is that the phone after ota update its started to bootloop, then the screen cant turn on no light no vibration.
i try to connect to the computer it does not detect the phone. i try to charge using the htc charger only have blinking red notification for few seconds around 14 blink if im not mistaken, then its gone.
i try fast pressing the power button still no. so i try pressing power+volume down button during red notification flashing then its shows red light for around 30second and it off back. but still i couldnt get the phone to power up.
the problem that i need to solve is that how to charge the phone battery so that it have enough power to let the computer to detect the phone and install the driver. cause currently there is no driver in my computer for the hox. and my phone cant go into bootloder due to the low battery power.
do give advice or any other method for me to follow to restore my possible brick device without disturb the hardware..
in advance i would like to say thankyou all for your time and help..:fingers-crossed:

Maybe charging via the pogopins work, or another battery, or charge the battery outside the phone.....otherwise it's a repairshop or HTC that has to fix it.
Another thing to try is to keep it on the wallcharger for many hours (like 8-9) and try again.....
