[Q] Arc s won't enter flashmode, please help! - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I recently rooted my Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S, everything was working fine.
So I decided to install a custom ROM ( Jelly Sandwich )
but after the installation, my device is stuck on the Sony logo, I can't even access flashmode to flash it back. Please help! Thank you.

I've got the exact same problem!

You are stuck in bootloop you either have to reflash the stock rom with flashtools or if you have open bootloader using fastboot install custom kernel.
I have never managed to get this room working on my phone without using custom kernel.
I no longer have this Rom but use pureness Rom on stock kernel without issues.

Open flashtool, put there original firmware http://forum.android.com.pl/f308/oprogramowanie-dla-sony-ericsson-xperiaa-arc-s-147007/
then pull out battery, put it back, then start flashtool and flash this original firmware. For me it has allways worked, every time got back to life, but root is gone, so new rooting have to too

[Q] PLEASE! HELP ME! My XPS is really dead after flashing one zip :(

Hi guys i am so nervous because of mi xps doesn´t weak up, its already in bootloop.
I have tried a lot of things, because i have an unlocked bootloader, the pc recognised the phone, and it seems that via fastboot i can flash a recovery like Advanced Stock Kernel, but really the phone still in bootloops and i have not got recovery
I have connected to flashtools and flash .55 ftf, the flashtools told that everything is good, but incomprensively de phone still in bootloops.
Now the phone is charging (all the leds working) but after five minutes, the phone turns on and bootloop again.
The zip that i flash before the bootlops is this: http://www.mediafire.com/?67mcui28bh3f45o of this threat: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1724602 , ICS STATUS BAR V3
can someone help me please?
THANK YOU VERY VERY VERY MUCH
Try flashing stock fw using flashtool again?
Sent from my MT27i using xda premium
you are on .55, the version used for that mod is .45 thats why you get bootloop, all you need to do is to reflash the stock firmware via flashtool.
always been said before: before to do anything else, make a backup.so in case of problems you will still have your backup.
Or you can now use the official flash tool from Sony.

There is no chance of problems using the official generic world firmwares provided by Sony itself

Help me rescue my lil bro's Xperia Play

Evening all,
Im posting on behalf of my little brother so go easy on me, My little brother flashed a rom on his xperia play using ROM Manager (i think it was called mark ICS rom) now when he boots his phone it goes into the usual sony Ericsson splash screen for about 20 seconds that splash screen disappears but the screen stays on with no activity at all.
Does anyone know how to rescue his phone?

Have you tried reflashing the stock FTF using the Flashtool?
Pulling the battery, putting the device in flashmode and reflashing the stock FTF should take care of it, hopefully.
did he flash the actual ICS kernel before booting the phone?

That is your problem he never flashed an ICS kernel. Which has to be done in fastboot mode. Use flashtool or
Code:
fastboot flash boot (kernelname).img
You cant boot an ICS ROM with GB kernel...

Hi, you must get flashtool then a FTF file (can be uk, world etc).
Do as flashboot with the FTF file then your brothers phone is fixed
if you want to return the mobile phone to be guaranteed, download the FTF from a previous version 2.3.2 or 2.3.3 and then relock bootloader does it with a FTF.
After that makes the update by sony pc companion to 2.3.4.
And is his bootloader unlocked?

If your bootloader is locked, you can repair it with Sony's PC Companion program for windows.
If your bootloader is unlocked, your only choice is to use flashtool to flash stock firmware

hey thanks for the reply, i read around a bit and downloaded flashtool, but when i run the flashtool it says 'preparing files for flashing' and then my phone just goes and reboots to get stuck on sony ericsson again, not giving time for flashtool to flash the phone.

You have to switch it off first before connecting, then connect while holding back when they ask you to in Flashtool.
Just to be safe, remove the battery and replace it after switching off.

Download the zip on the sdcad then install this kernel.
> Sony Ericsson Xperia Play > Xperia Play Android Development > [KERNEL][PLAY] LuPuSv7 [STOCK ICS/GB & CM9][LINARO 4.7.3][19-06-13]
It's working fine for me.

Well first you need a unlocked bootloader.
Then, you have to flash a ICS kernel for an ICS ROM (using fast boot)
LuPuS is a good kernel and is pretty stable too.
After that just install the ROM through CWM.

I don't know about that. But you can try it. In worst case, it won't do anything at all.
But i'm sure that Emma (son'ys flashtool for unlocked BL) will work. Here is a link

Fastboot is for flashing kernel. You need unlocked bootloader for this process.
Flashmode is for flashing the stock rom.
If you had bootloop just flashing the stock rom again.

If you unlocked your bootloader, use emma instead of pc companion
http://developer.sonymobile.com/services/flash-tool/how-to-download-and-install-the-flash-tool/
Flashtool is at flashtool.net
For ftf file you'll have to search, i have r800i model and i don't know wich ftf is for your r800x
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
Stock ftf for r800x can be found here http://www.xperiagamer.com/Stock-Roms/233-se-stock-firmware-for-flashtool.html
If you're on windows 8 you might need to manually install fastboot drivers.

For a better support you should tell us which kernel are you using, and which ROM you were using before flashing NeXPLay.
If you just made the mistake of installing NeXPay (ICs ROM) on a GB kernel, then you don't need to reset everything with flashtool.
thanks but i just flashed my verizon rom with flashtool and that seems to get me back...
now which custom firmware/rom is the best for R800x?

Depends on how you use your phone. If you are a gamer then you should try a LuPuS kernel and a Gingerbread ROM but if you don't care about gaming then you can try a ICs ROM and which kernel you prefer.
If you need some in choosing one of the many ICs/GB ROMs, just ask
