Teamviewer Quicksupport issues... - Galaxy S III Themes and Apps

I have installer the Teamviewer Quicksupport app on my s3, works well when screen is on contantly but don't want this as worried I could get screen burn-in. I would be happy if the app stayed connected whilst the screen was off, then I could just reach over and tap the home button to carry on but the problem is that the teamviewer quicksupport session ends itself about 1 minute after i turn the screen off manually. Is there anything I can do to keep it alive while the screen is off ?
Cheers, Rich.

return to last app after screen timeout...

I'm new to Android phones (iPhone convert). Anyway, I started with the GSIII and then switched to this bad boy... I believe that with the SIII when the screen would time out and you hit the home button right away it would just stay on the screen (app) that I was last using before it timed out. But, with the Note 2, it takes me back to the home screen and I have to re-launch the app - very annoying. How do I fix this?
anyone???
I had experienced the same. It has something to do with the S voice.
on S voice setting, Did you uncheck the "open via home key" to fix home button lag?
If you did, then everytime your screen time out and you push home button right away it will take you back to your home instead of turning the backlight on the last app.
but if you didnt but still having the issue, then im out of help here. goodluck ...

You can set the screen saver time in settings I have mine at 15 minutes. But after 30 minutes of inactivity it will shutdown. it's really just a deeper sleep then a full power off.
I set my screen saver to 15 minutes (or whatever the lowest is) and then it turns off 30 minutes after screen saver pops up.
It wont turn off if you are in a sideloaded app though like cable tv or xbmc so I always make sure to just hit the home button when I am done using it so it turns off.
Does it turn of if your downloading an app.

This is bad news for me, I want to buy fire TV mostly for XBMC, I use it at night and will just have some TV shows play, I set a sleep timer on my TV to shut off automatically, the Original XBOX i'm currently using has option to shut down after x amount of idle time inside XBMC. Does anyone know of a way to make XBMC app close after certain time frame has passed? I wouldnt want the fire TV to be on/not sleeping ever 24/7
Have you experienced with sleep option on xbmc I have not tried it yet with the Fire TV. Not sure if it just exits xbmc when it reaches 0?
Another option would be to see if SleepTimer can be sideloaded on Fire TV. Not sure if this would work on the Fire TV but you could set to exit your "music" app after a certain amount of time and just set XBMC as the music app.
I'm having an issue that I haven't sorted out yet where it won't seem to sleep even on the default home screen when I have my USB XBox 360 controller plugged in. This happened before I sideloaded antyhing too, and I thought it might be of some help if there was any USB device that may be preventing sleep for someone here too.
would it be possible to do a real shutdown with root?
Pressing Fn+Esc on my Logitech K400 puts it to sleep immediately.

I've been able to do a reboot over adb but I'm not sure if there is a shutdown command. With root I'd assume we'll be able to shutdown pretty easily.

That's awesome news! I'll try it on my wireless keyboard too and report back (if I remember to )
not sure if everyone knows but, holding Play/Pause and middle select button for 5 seconds, turns it off.

You sure? Mine just restarts.
I don't think it ever turns off completely. The light will go out, but if it was 100% off you would have to unplug it and plug it back in to get the control to work. There is no off switch.
Mine restarts as well. Only way I have found to turn it off is to unplug it.
Mine turn off with the combo yocoldrain mentioned, it shows a message of turning off. Thanks

What software version do you have.... as version 51.1.0.1 say shuting down but then actually reboots.
Don't be concerned with the fire TV staying on when not in use, your tv uses more in standby power mode than the fire tv uses in full power mode.
The box is made very well, all that weight comes from cast aluminum, the whole case is one big heat sink.
before and after new firmware, box still turns off on my side. well it says powering off, then amazon logo comes on as in its restarting or something, but actually turns off.
Hours later, I can still see it polling for the remote's battery state. It never really turns off. That's probably for the best, user experience wise. You wouldn't want to click the remote and have absolutely nothing happen.

Urgent: Download mode home screen problem

Alright guys so I messed up somehow. I have kingroot on my g3 and i sat on my phone in some way that caused it to go into download mode. It wasn't connected to a pc; it was kind of in my pocket so i did the only thing i could think of and took the battery out while in download mode. My phone started back up fine and all my files are here, but my home screen is blinking. It shows my screensaver and then blacks out in intervals of about a second. This is highly aggravating as i can't access my apps, only the ones already open when i tap the running apps icon. The home screen is the only thing that does this, the lock screen is fine. I can't get to my messages which is why this is kind of urgent. Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated!

Black screen help??

My screen has failed. Started with a black area covering 80% of the screen, centered on the middle (of course) - with a ring of working pixels around the outside. Over a short time, the working pixels declined, until there are literally none left now.
The phone still works. Everything but the screen. I can start it, shut it down, and it connects to wifi. My problem is I want to access the phone before I return to OnePlus for repair (still in-warranty). There are lots of files I want to access.
When I attach a USB-C to HDMI cable to my monitor, I see some sort of lock screen thats not part of the phone normally. The in-screen fingerprint sensor in this case is a MAJOR drawback - if it was the old touch one on the back, I could unlock and control the phone on my monitor. Without a functioning screen, the backlight for fingerprint is useless.
So I need to figure out where the keypad entries are. Could somebody send me a couple of screenshots of the first screen after you press the power button to wake it up? and then another screen shot of the keypad after you swipe up to get to the keycode entry?
I'm virtually certain if I can unlock the phone before I attach to USB-C to HDMI, I will be able to access the phone.
Thank you so much! Yes - the tactile response works, so I just need to know what the screen looks like at those several crucial moments before the keypad code is entered after the fingerprint.

Thank you very much! I was able to get into my phone. The USB-C to HDMI works fine - as long as the phone is not locked. With the screenshot I was able to get in, make my backups, and restore to factory default for shipment to OnePlus. Appreciated...
