WARNING:
Using this mod may decrease battery life, decrease screen life and/or quality, cause overheating, cause your phone to blow up or cause other damage to your phone. Use at your own risk. I am not responsible for any damage this mod causes to your phone.
This Mod will increase the max brightness of your phone by about 10%.
Note:
Auto Brightness must be turned off for this to work.
Root is required for this Mod.
Instructions:
Download and run app attached to this post.
Or. ..
echo 1 > /sys/class/backlight/panel/auto_brightness
If you reboot or enable auto brightness you have to run it again.
The best way to tell if it worked would be to run it when your screen is already at full brightness. You'll see it go a bit brighter.
Tested on T-Mobile Note II, but this may work in many Samsung Galaxy phones.
Nice works good

Yeah, just install the app and click on it. All it does is run the script.

You'll have to check with the op because I could be wrong, but I'm assuming you should be able to use an app like script manager which lets you set a script to automatically run on every boot. You might need just the script itself though because this is an apk, so I'm not sure if it would be recognized as a script or not. Anyway then would at least survive after reboots anyway.

To apply this mod, you can either run the command in the OP or run the APK.
To apply this mod on boot, you can use any tool that runs scripts or APKs on boot. (I personally use Tasker to run the apk on boot.)
The reason I didn't make the APK run on boot was because ... uhm ... I don't know ...
is this aosp only?
Be careful that you do not burn images on your screen.

Im trying to find a way to improve my battery life and one of the things I remember is changing this. I've tried using apps to change it and none of them seemed to have any effect. I looked in build.prop and there isnt any lines for it, did this change with Gingerbread?
When I look in wifi settings it re-scans for wifi networks every like 5 seconds. I'm using the stock kernel btw.

Boot manager, Root tools [both paid apps] have this capability.

My conclusion was that this command was simply ignored by the rom.

Its simple

Boot to recovery
Flash the zip.
Reboot.

AOKP might cause a bootloop. NANDROID before flashing. Paranoid android from what i have been reading is based off of CM source, so it might work. My CM10 center clock mod worked on Paranoid android so im pretty sure this will as well.
ALSO to everyone using this, if it doesnt work, mount /system in recovery "mounts and storage" first then flash the zip. i just saw there was an error in my updater-script, nothing severe it just wont mount the system. And my upload speeds suck xD

Tablet UI. I was also seeing weird symbols popping up in the process, like when I cleared cache and fixed permissions to see if that would fix it, the prompt at boot up said something like "upgrading applications $% of $%" but for some reason couldn't upgrade any of them, so it just started right up, and immediately gave me a UI FC.

If u hold "back" on cm ROMs u can "kill" the app running. Some ppl prefer a shorter "long press" this will shorten that time.
I apologize for not updating this! I had just reinstalled windows after getting the ZeroAccess TrojanHorse in system32/services.exe.
And busy getting my next semester in order!
So in the near future I will have updates posted!
A new feature of cm10 is the low battery notification light. This blink rate can be edited. So if people want this edited post some led on times followed by led off times both in milliseconds.
For example 500,500
500 milliseconds on 500 milliseconds off. (This is what I use and love it) but post some ideas for different times and I'll make those edits too.

If you want to have louder volume Flash this zip. It was developed by Meltus SG3 Developer but it works on our phone. You can flash the zip or open the zip and place default.gain file to system/etc. and reboot afterwards to hear the difference it really works great with headphones. If you want to change the volume find 'AIF1 Boost volume' and change value from anything 1 to 63. You can edit the files yourself to the volume you want it to be but anything over 63 might break the sound so don't push it. I have mine on set to 60 with PowerAmp it's superloud and I love it LOUD!!!! More info go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722136&page=1
Did everything you said and working great. Got it set at 60 also and loving it. Thanks

Does it matter which recovery you use? I use TWRP and it keeps giving me the flash failed error message. This is actually the first file I have tried flashing since I switched from CWM to TWRP. I can just place it in the system folder no problem. Just curious if this is a know issue with TWRP.
So I edited all the AIF1 Boost volumes to 55... it didn't seem to make a difference. Is 55 too low.? I sent it to the pc and edited it in text pad.. Then emailed it back to myself. Then I used root explorer to put it in system /etc.

I did this also. No change, I am using Darkside TW based rom. I wonder if that matters. This doesn't really seem to do anything. My wife has the exact phone as me so I have a reference point to compare. There is no difference between her phone volume and mine.

Actually, I flashed this and there is NO difference in volume sound what-so-ever.
And ACTUALLY, I never found any sound "tweaks" that really worked, except
the app. Volume+ version 1.7.1. (Please remember the Version, as any version higher than that will NOT work).
So, if you REALLY want loud, LOUD sound, try Volume+ V1.7.1!!!!
And for the OP, please take the Volume+ v.1.7.1.apk and see why it is the only
one that REALLY makes a difference in volume LOUDNESS...
It seems that nobody can reproduce that performance yet....(Are you man enough for that challenge??)

I've kinda stumbled across a way of making the notification LED dimmer, as I feel sometimes its a bit too bright, eg night time driving.
Here's how...
You need root and an app that can run scripts, I use rom toolbox pro, theres probably many others...
I created a script with the lines:
echo 100 > /sys/class/leds/red/max_current
echo 100 > /sys/class/leds/green/max_current
echo 100 > /sys/class/leds/blue/max_current
Set it to run at boot and hey presto, dimmer notifications!
The default value is 2000 so you can use any value to set the brightness to your liking, you can also go higher, but i don't know if this will have a detrimental effect on the LEDs. Do so at your own risk!
I don't know how to make CWM zips, so please don't ask me to! If you do, feel free to do so!
I accept no responsibility if this turns your phone into a velociraptor and eats your children.
You didn't actually stumble upon them.

I assume you're using SuperSU (which you should be). You may have another kernel app/script trying to override those settings?
Especially if all tame settings stick EXCEPT cpu which is most likely the case.

Do you have any init.d scripts running? Because it would only make sense if none of the things restored after boot. But if one of them are restored, then they are all getting restored...but something is overriding it. We can confirm this by grabbing the file /sdcard/Tame/Tame-SOB.sh and attaching it here
Does 2nd-init have anything to do with it? Because i remember freegee placed a 2nd init file that soft bricked my phone but even though i fixed it. It could still be there, who knows.
Edit: Im using mobile xda atm and there's no option to attach anything other than image url and pictures from my gallery. No pc :/ gonna have to go over to my friend's

No thats not the reason, what ROM are you on?
Also post it on pastebin.com and link it, or view XDA às a desktop to attach it as a text file
Resurrection rom v5.4.4.
Tried using it on browser. Same thing. I'll use the comp. I dont know if its adequate because I tried re installing Tame just to see if it helps. Well USB fast charge enables but when I select the default option it doesnt turn on. Only 1500mA. As for Multi core power saving, it says reboot recommended but when i do so it reverts. When I dont, it stays. Guess rebooting is the problem? I do have restore on boot option checked.

hmm i see the issue, I'll look into it. For now, clearing Tame data should fix your problem.
