Does anyone have any suggestions for headphones or earbuds for running? It's not heavy running, just a treadmill at the gym. I was looking for something that will hold in place nicely without me having to adjust them constantly. Thanks.
Try any SHURE ear buds with the foam tips ( almost look like earplugs ) they are amazing for running they block out every other sound and stay in your ear

It's not an earbud like you're looking for. But it's bluetooth, has the APT-X codec for HD quality music and it won't fall off your head because it's made for jogging:
http://www.headphone.com/selection-guide/jaybird-sportsband-bluetooth.php
This is on my wishlist. About $85 shipped in some places.
JayBird Sportsband Bluetooth
The JayBird Sportsband Bluetooth wireless headphones will come as a revelation to listeners used to the nagging, crunchy tone of most Bluetooth headsets. Thanks to a remarkable APT-X SB2 engine behind JayBird's wireless technology, the Sportsband may be the most enjoyable-sounding Bluetooth headphones we've laid our ears on. Whether for use at the gym, office, commuting or just great wire-free listening, the tone is clear and warm with a musical engagement many wired headphones at this price can't muster. Built-in mic with call + music control.

+1 for MEElectronics. Excellent sound quality and build for a low price. I'd recommend the M6 - they have over-ear loops which means they'll stay in place very well. If you want something a bit more special, go for the S6, as above.

I have Monster Turbine Pro Copper with comply T-100 foam buds.....amazing sound! And with the T-100 foam they stay in your ears when running
The reason why in-ear earbuds often wriggle lose is the movement of the cable. Try wearing them over your ear like a pair of glasses instead of letting them hang straight down. That also helps with unwanted noise created by the cables movement over your clothes.
Aside from aesthetics those are the reasons why performing artists wear their in-ear monitors that way.

I have the Shure se215's. They go over your ear like the guy above was talking about and they have a section of wire about 2 inches down that you bend around your ears and it keeps it shape. The cable is removable/replaceable seperately from the ear buds themselves. You can even buy cables with music controls and a mic for them if you want. I've kept them in my ears for over 3 hours before without having to mess with them. They're very comfortable and block out a lot of sound like the guy above said. I use the silicone tips instead of the foam ones which would block out a little more sound. Even with using the silicone tips I can ride my 2-stroke dirt bike with the volume turned halfway up and never hear the bike. They cost around $100 when I got them, which was around a year ago. So I'm sure you can pick them up for cheaper than that now. They come with a keychain pouch that I have on my keyring so I always have them with me. The sound quality of these things is astonishing for what they are. And the amount of bass they can produce is just stupid for in ear headphones. I have power amp and you can turn up the bass to the point that it tickles the inside of your ear and the sound doesnt distort. Granted I don't even use bass boost or an equalizer settings because the sound of these is so good already.

I recommend these, the Klipsch Image S4. $60 from amazon...can't be beat.
http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-IMAGE...F8&qid=1351885062&sr=8-32&keywords=headphones
Couple them with these and they won't fall out of your ears during a marathon:

I also own the MEElectronics as was mentioned above. My only problem with them is that the silicone bud is not firmly attached to the speaker (most attach over a lip), so it can slip off easily.
Those are boss when it comes to running they never fall out

Hey guys, i bought these headphones http://tiny.cc/ptf4c , there Samsung OEM, the sound coming out these headphones is just mind blowing....the default headphones of the captivate not only are in ear(i hate does types) the sound coming from them is not perfect, so anyways get the ones from ebay, there cheap and the sound is just amazing!

You know I dont understand why the captivate didnt come with a headset with the volume control/skip-previous control. My brother has an HD2 and I really wish I had that.
for 4 bucks I might bite on those samsung ones as well because I am not a fan of the ones that this came iwth
I suppose it's all relative...
Yeah, I've never been a fan of IEMs. I just use my Yuin PK3s with it. I only listen to music on it, so I don't need a headset.
To be honest, I was impressed with the stock IEMs. For a free set of phones, they don't sound half bad, and they do a good job of blocking out ambient noise. I wear them in bed to listen to something calming when the AC in my room is on (it's super loud). I have yet to use them as a headset, but I've read that the mic is not great. I won't turn my nose up at free stuff if it's good quality.
I also use Yuin PK3s with my Captivate most of the time. They obviously sound leagues better than the Samsung IEMs, but as earbuds don't block any noise.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I had no issues at all with the cheap stock ones, I wore them on my flight to Vegas from DC for Blackhat/Defcon, cut down on most of the engine/plane noise.
The in the ear headphones are ok. But when in a house with 3 kids under 8 it gets a little dangerous cause I can't hear them.
But in some cases that may be a good thing. Lol.

Please tell if they control song selection, other than just pause, such as skip to next song.
i prefer in ear more than those regular one
it helps a lot when you are in a noisy environment,i.e. subway
you don't need to turn the volume to really high to get the music you wants! better for your ears!
the stock is okay but kind of annoying since it doesn't have the control with it
I actually like the stock headphones, except the thin cable is always winding it'self up.
And I doubt that any $4 pair of earbuds will blow any minds with their sound quality
I was rather impressed with the included IEMs... they have great sound quality, and its nice to see earbuds come with a phone. They even have acceptable low end frequency response (sounds like between 10-20 hz).
I'm a dj (hence my name) so i'm a bit of an audiophile, but I was totally fine going on a run using these as my headphones for pandora (since I can use the button to skip and pause).
doubletap the button on the included headphones to skip to next song
I prefer earbuds. These look pretty comfortable. I ordered a set.

Mine either... how did you guys get this to work on your cappys?
http://www.amazon.com/NuForce-NE-7M...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1282721778&sr=8-1
These are pretty much THE BEST earphones I've ever used!
The sound is perfectly balanced with bass you can pretty much feel
It's very comfortable (Though I'm using them with the sony hybrid silicon tips/comply foam tips)
The microphone is of excellent quality! (No one ever complains about voice quality when I'm talking to them on the phone)
And most importantly to me is that the button works with MixZing to play/pause and skip songs.
These ARE in-ears so most people (like the OP) either don't like them at all, or will have to take some time to get used to them.
Now, I'm not an audiophile, but I have tried other "mid-end" earphones *just to try something new* like the Klipsch S4i, Shure SE115+, Bose In Ear, BEATZ by Dre, and the Sony earphones for the Iphone and I always end up falling back to these. Thankfully Apple has a very good return policy ;D It also helps that the NuForce are about half the price of all of the other brands I listed here
What's also great about these is the company has a VERY good warranty. I've had them sent me a replacement absolutely free a couple times, because of the wires going out due to me mishandling them.
Happy New Year everyone!
I've been searching for a specific type of headset to use with the ET4G for weeks without success and hoping someone might be able to help.

I've found that they are the only style of headphones that don't keep falling out when I am out running and sweating (the ear bud style keep falling out, I tried the Motorola S10-HD Bluetooth headset but found that enough sweat will short out the Bluetooth receiver on the back). While the Sony headphones work fine with the ET4G, to use it for phone calls I have to hold the device up to my mouth; so I am looking for something with a built-in microphone.
Might anyone have a recommendation for a wired headset with microphone similar to the headphones pictured above?
Thanks so much for your thoughtful feedback!
I don't know how the skullcandy 50/50's are (w/mic) but the titans sound really great (no mic). The titans have good low end and good clarity.
I can't speak from experience this is just an idea of what "might" work, but the Monster iSport Immersion Headphones may be what you're looking for.
Pros:
Water proof (You can actually rinse them off)
Light weight
Built in cable controls
***Check for device compatibility first as they may or may not work with Android devices as far as the controls go***
Great build quality
Noise cancellation
Cons:
Noise cancellation (Not good if your running in areas with traffic as you'll need to be able to hear oncoming traffic etc)
Price (The Monster cable site lists them at $149.95) though I'm sure they can be had cheaper online (Ebay, Amazon etc)
They also come in black.
I don't run very much, but I have a pair of Sennheiser MM 50 iP earbuds that suction into the ear.
While I'm at work, I can rack servers, change backup batteries, and run around the datacentre like a mad man and they never fall out.
Also, the sound quality is EXCELLENT and I can barely hear anything outside.
Only downside is that I like to hear what's going on outside of my earbuds when talking on the phone. So, they're great for music and quick phone calls, but for longer calls I don't care for them.

Thanks to each of you for your suggestions so far; looking forward to any other suggestions folks might have.
The one suggestion that comes somewhat close is the Monster iSport Immersion because it comes close to clipping on the ear which, along with the Mic, is the key feature for me because having tried every modification of in-ear/ear bud style- they all fall out whereas the ear clip prevents that.
Has anyone tried:
Powerbeats by Dre Sport?
or
The Sprint Stereo Headset

Hi all,
I've had these headphones since January (2012). I can vouch how durable they are and they do sound AMAZING. I'd always hated the in-ear phones because they'd always fall out. The little in-ear clip on these does a good job of staying put, once you fit yourself with the properly sized attachments (included).
The iSport Immersions are awesome, but know this...the only part that works with Android devices is the pause/play button. Track skipping does NOT work. When running or working out, I tend to not mess with the music very much, so for me it's not very important.
Monster does make a iSport LIVESTRONG (yellow) with Universal control. Basically the same as the Immersion, but different control. I'd recommend these over the Immersion for Android users.
Cheers!

Go to Wal-Mart and buy a set of body glove in ear buds. They come with over ear clips. I work on an oil rig and they stay put no matter what. Plus they are only 20 bucks and sound 20 times better than the skull candy ear buds I have. Almost as good as my Sure ear buds. Built in mic too

Sony Ericsson mw600. Amazon has them for like $40.
LG HBS-700
About $60 but sometimes cheaper. Folks on the other end don't know I'm in a naked Jeep. I still can't hear them great but that's mostly because I only have it in my right ear. At work, with both in, all of the cube-land noise is silenced by my Slacker tunes. I've used them with my gtab2, old fruit-based phone, corporate crackberry and shiny new SGS3.

Depends how much you want to spend. I have both the SE MW600 and LG HBS700. I like the MW600 because it lets you use your own headphones to plug into it allowing you to have better sound quality. I like the LG because of simplicity of 1 device but the sound quality is lacking compared to the MW600. I threw the MW600 in the drawer and use the LG exclusively ever since getting them. I got them for $40 off Newegg when they had the special a month ago.
I have the Jaybird Freedom. They run for $99 but they are awesome. I used to have the Sennheiser MM100. They were good too.
I'm liking my LG HBS700 so far. Tried Motorola s10 and really didn't like the fit, but LG one is comfortable. I forget that it's there sometimes. Kinda wish I got the white one now to match soon-to-be-mine white gs3!

Have these now. They are amazing. I got them for cheap on ebay in new condition. Well worth the price tag. Range, bass, battery all excellent. Range is around 50+ ft through a crowded gym. Once you get used to how they fit around your ears these are great. They never fall out while running or anything. And cancel all noise around you.
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Ericsson...id=1341894808&sr=1-1&keywords=sony+hbh+is+800
Had these for 15 months. They were incredible never fell out while running. They had a ****ty proprietary charger that started giving out towards the end. They met their fate when they fell out of my pocket and I ran them over by mistake. Range was great on this probably about the same as the XBA. Never fell out of my ears even while sprinting.

These were my first pair. Decent but eventually I couldn't charge it because of the cheap micro usb port. Don't remember how good the range was.

Got these after the Sony HBH and hated the lack of range, about 15 ft if you had an armband i would recommend these.. Quality was great. Required constant readjusting though.

dont know if it has anything to do with it saying for samsung galaxy blaze 4g. but they look the same as the ones for the s3.
I personally would avoid Beats like the plague. Yea... they supposedly have nice sound to them (Never had a pair close enough to my head to hear them)... but i wouldn't buy any product made by Monster. Yes... the A/V cable company. The same one that apparently has the ca-hone's to sell people a gold-plated fiber optic audio cable with a straight face.
I'd either go with genuine Samsung earbuds if you liked the way they sounded, or i'd say Sennheiser.

You still using wired headsets come on man the Galaxy 3 support apt-X for CD quality Bluetooth stereo sound. Overpriced, and the sound quality isn't terribly amazing. You pay for the branding essentially.
A good pair of Sennheiser's or the Klipsch s4as will do so much better.
Those are my headphones for music.
Otherwise, I have a couple OEM Samsung's for calls and such, they are nice for the price point. $5-10 on Amazon/eBay.

I really don't get people who say stay away from beats. I have one myself and I do think they're a little overprice for the sound quality but, I think they are the best looking headphones. I don't want to be walking around with some retarded looking headphones on my head. Its all about preference. I'm looking at portable speakers. There are so many out there and the prices vary as much as the options.

I picked up one of these a few days ago at Best Buy after a coworker did and I was impressed with the sound it put out. I just use mine for when I'm in the shower, but it's plenty loud if you wanted to use it outside. I went in and they pricematched the Amazon price so I saved $20. It's a bluetooth speaker, so the sound quality isn't going to reach audiophile levels, but it does its job well.
I personally own one of these units.
The sound is good and it shrugs off water and drops.
Not a cheap device though.
I ended up getting this Anker Portable Speaker after some great reviews on Amazon. I've had a couple generic no names that broke or blew out quickly.

The MP141 is very nice looking and super easy to pair. The speaker is very heavy-indicating a large magnet, and has a nice matte rubber exterior. There is a micro USB charge port, aux stereo jack and a charge light indicater. Apart from thevolume switch, the buttons operate the speaker. Volume up/ down and a play/pause. All the parts appear to be of the highest quality. Most importantly, the sound is very rich. I use it in my office which is about 12 X 12. I can walk out about 15-20 without losing connection. What's more impressive is I can still hear it well out side. Unfortunately the unit does distort at the highest volume- but most speakers do. The company boasts 20hrs. I have used mine for over 25 and is still going!
The speaker also has a microphone to answer incoming calls. The mic. quality is good and almost none of callers could recognize I was using the speaker. There is also a sound that indicates a successful connection or incoming call. One drawback is that for some reason, this notification sound is always super loud-regardless of the volume seting on the speaker. It can be startling if you have the speaker volume low. Overall I am very pleased with this product and feel comfortable recommending it to anyone looking for a high quality speaker without the high end price.

We won one of these in a raffle:

I had no idea is was worth that much when we got it. It sounds quite good for it's size and it folds up neatly.
I would recommend the soundfreaq soundkick or the g-boom. Both have received great reviews and sound very good for their price ($99).

The G-Boom has worked great for me for $99. Lives up to what I use it for and it can take a beating

A waterproof one would be ideal!
