A ROM that supports FM and camera? - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

As an user of a Galaxy W, I'm greatly puzzled by the fact that not a single ROM I've found supports FM radio without purchasing an application, and most of them have a poor or non-existent support for camera. Is there a single ROM that supports those things that already come enabled in the stock ROM? Or is there a way to backport support for them?

all cm9 roms have good support for camera.
no cm9 rom has support for radio.
try gb roms.

Camera? CM9-based Camera is working, flawlessly...
But the FM Radio, you will need Spirit FM Radio for this.

cm is aosp? it includes a lot of apps and you know it is cm when going to setting cyanoge..
The additional settings and mods are custom made, but the base is AOSP. What would you categorize it as?
ok, you're right but is it possible to remove all addicional settings and mods ?
That is precisely what DevNull is. But, it's still in Beta, and , it doesn't have FM Radio. If you see CM7, the FM App is developed by the MIUI Devs, which probably implies AOSP doesn't support it yet (Don't quote me on this, I am not a dev). Also, there's an app being developed (Spirit Radio, if I am not mistaken), which claims to enable FM Radio on supported handsets. So you can try that on an AOSP ROM you use.
thx
CM7 is an AOSP rom with useful additions. No reason to choose a clean AOSP rom over it or remove the additions really.
@3xeno Yeah, AFAIK FM radio is not considered standard hardware and therefore vendors have to develop their own FM app.
why does Bluetooth gets turned on when i switch on fm radio ....on CM 7 ???
Because they share the same chip. The difference is Sense hides this fact from you when FM is switched on.

[Q] Do any of the ROMs or kernels support Bluetooth Tethering?

Hi everyone,
I'm running the stock 2.3.6 rom, rooted, and I'm wondering if any of the alternatives support the bluetooth tethering profile. My wife's Nexus S with ICS supports it (I can initialize the connection from my Transformer, no action necessary from the phone) and I'd love to see the same behavior on my GS2.
I use this phone for work stuff and really the only thing I'm missing is BT tethering, so I'd appreciate it if somebody could check their settings to see if it's mentioned or supported.
Thanks!
Don't take this as fact, as I'm not 100% sure, but it is my understanding that Bluetooth tethering profile as well as other profiles like HID that lets you use Wiimotes and Playstation controllers is missing from the Bluetooth stack that ships with Touchwiz devices.
Almost all of our ROMs are based on the stock TouchWiz ROM, so none of those will work with this profile. The only exception is the half-finished and abandoned Cyanogenmod port, and the half-finished and abandoned MIUI port based on it.
Seems like a reasonable assumption, thanks. I'll just live with wifi tethering and hope that Samsung includes the proper profiles in ICS.

Is there a ROM for the Wonder that supports FM radio?

As an avid radio listener, I find it annoying that ROMS like CyanogenMod cannot support FM, unless one purchases an app. Is there any modern ROM that supports FM out of the box?
PS: Sorry mods, how do I move the question to Q&A?

[Q] why has no developer ported tytung's kernel to htc desire?

if you look at the htc hd2 forums, you will see everyone is using tytung kernel for their 4.0 to 4.2 roms as it has fully working 720p video playback, camera and camcorder... why hasn't any htc desire developer ported his work? i would think it would be easier/more flexible than trying to port kernel 3.0 which seems to never be able to work completely because of lack of drivers.

Maybe because making a working kernel 3 is more important than porting other kernels.

i think we will never get a complete kernel 3 tbh as there's a lot of drivers not available..
It looks much easier/feasible to port Tytung work on camera/camcorder as the 2.x kernel of HD2 is very similar to htc desire's 2.x kernel..that would require less effort than trying to port kernel 3 (maybe i am wrong..) Qiss Rom and Tytung have been able to get a fully working camera/camcorder using kernel 2.x; so it is possible
at least i have been able to enjoy ICS with qiss rom and marius.a's rom (not a single issue to the major components : camera/camcorder is perfect, BT, GPS, Fm radio and all apps and games work great) ... i would have liked enjoying Jelly bean on my desire before changing phone next year

i mean apart from qiss rom team(unfortunately they did not released their source), no one has been able to get a stable camera/camcorder on kernel 2.x ... what makes you think with kernel 3.x it will be better and easier? and unfortunately there are very very few developers on the htc desire nowadays.. look at the android dev forum, it is quite quiet nowadays

Trust me, nikez and team are working on it. The xda thread may seem dead because of a bit of a mishap with a forum mod, but hes is still actively working and reporting his progress on his forum and on twitter.

It wouldn't work, because nikez uses ion now in his rom instead of pmem! With pmem and tytung's camera fix, which tytung already dicussed with nikez in nikez's thread, it would work, but nikez dont want to revert back to pmem

[REQ] Samsung's camera in AOSP/CM11 on 4.4.x

Hi guys! I bought yesterday a SGSIII. After few hours i decided to install a CM 11. it works fine, but there isn't HDR option in google camera and CM camera. So I tried to find something other. I found stock camera, but for 4.3.x (here it link for it: http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/75589-galaxy-s3-stock-camera-for-aosp/) But it makes bootloops on CM11. Is there any option to make it work, or maybe there is any good camera app with HDR?
I don't know where put this thread. IF it should be in Q&A section, please moderator to move it
i remember the TouchWiz camera working rly well on aosp rom. would be nice if someone could port it for 4.4
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA Free mobile app
Would be nice....waiting for it too.

i'm waiting too. someone can porting samsung stock camera to cm11.
I don't think a TouchWiz stock camera app for sgs3 would work on 4.4.x AOSP/CM because the s3 international devices didn't get a kitkat rom, camera app of 4.3 Android won't work on 4.4
But there is a hope, some s3 variants like Verizon (with 2gb of ram) received a kitkat update, after all they have the same camera HW, so I think it is possible to use this roms camera app!
All we need now is someone to capable of such thing to read this post

Samsung Camera cannot work (well) on AOSP anyway. As it is true that mentioned Android versions are incompatible - noone officially managed to run a 100% working Samsung Camera on 4.3 AOSP ROM (let alone 4.4.). You had to replace the stock one with Samsung one and then either you had problems with autofocus or video recording or the app would FC itself. I've googled this before because I wasn't happy with CM camera quality, but there are no good solutions if your sticked to Samsung.
However I flashed a Samsung based kernel (ArchiKernel, arter97 kernel...) and CM11S camera app (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/themes-apps/17-fixed-camera-app-lib-cm-aosp-roms-t2505973) and with it you get superb quality (99-100% like Samsung Camera). However HDR isn't avaliable at this time but it sucked on stock Samsung Camera anyway, so...
It is a beautifull dream ?, but i think is not possible.

yes thats true, there is allot of features that wont work, like GeoTagging, due to the dependency on stock ROM blobs, kernel and apps! still the core camera app functions can be ported, and no alternative camera app can really replace the stock one, because its the only one that can use the phones camera hardware image processing!
all s3 variants have the same camera HW and blobs, therefore posting the app from s3 models that received an official kitkat update is doable, but is it feasible? thats up to the experts to say!
whats even better if someone can develop an app that can use the phones camera HW itself, but thats out of the question because the blobs are not open source!
CyanogenMOD AOSP camera uses the HW blobs, and not all S3 models use the same camera, I don't think. It's not really going to happen, porting the stock camera to AOSP. If it could be done well enough it'd be done by now.
