I've come across several posts/apks/scripts/tweaks to remove the stock email exchange security so I decided to share what I built and used. The email apk that is included in this flashable zip was not created by me (not sure who the developer is so I apologize). This is a simple and quick flashable zip file. I have tested it on my Galaxy S III running both Stock TW JB and AOKP JB (Tasks ROM).
This flash "should" work on both ICS and JB. I've tested this on JB but I've used it previously on ICS. If you have any issues using it on ICS please let me know and I'll update this thread.
Install Insturctions:
STEP 0: Make a nandroid backup or backup your pHere however you see fit.
1. Download the zip File for STOCK TW HERE or AOKP HERE
2. Flash the zip using clockwork recovery
3. WIPE CACHE PARTITION & DALVIK CACHE
4. Reboot Phone and re-setup your exchange account
The apk's in these zip files are technically the same 2 files but named differently to account for whatever rom you're using.
**As always, Flash at your own risk, I am not responsible if anything happens to your phone, but I will feel bad :crying:
SInce this flashable zip replaces your stock email app with a modified apk I'll upload all the stock apk's so you can always revert back easily. If you're not sure what your stock email apk's are just navigate to your system/app folder and find the names of your email.apk and exchange.apk.
AOKP Original Email APK's - Email.apk & Exchange2.apk
Stock TW Email APK's - SecEmail.apk and SecExchange.apk
Other APK Possibility - Email.apk and Exchange.apk
On a side note, I'll be starting an APK Repository shortly just as I did for the Galaxy S II. That thread helped a lot of members on XDA so I'll bring that to the GS3 users as well.
Reserved for future use...
Thanks
Hmm seems like not that many people experienced this problem. But i need to install the email and exchange apk because the costume TouchWiz Jelly Bean rom that i was trying does not contain the email apk file originally (its kinda silly for not contain it by default...) so i need to use the apk files from my old AOKP rom. When i was setting up my exchange email, that security thingy kept popping out, sooooo annoying!!!!! Then i kept looking for a solution to solve it, and here comes the zip file. Flash it immediately, and problem solved!!!!!
Really thank you for this!!!

Make a backup with titanium backup of both your email and exchange apps. After you back them up, delete them both. Flash either of the email updates, wipe cache and dalvik cache and reboot. You should be fine using either. Worst case scenario, you delete the email APKs you flashed and restore your original ones.

I followed the steps, everything installed correctly I assume because my email app was back after I deleted it. However, exchange still asked me to accept the security steps. Is it supposed to still ask you (and just not allow it to actually make remote changes)?

I was able to delete the 2 apks from \system\app. Where are the 2 odex files? What are they named?
BTW - I'm getting the "Unfortunately, Email has stopped" and "Unfortunately, Exchange service has stopped" messages after removing said 2 files and re-flashing this zip. I'm running Devil's Reject ROM.
New Info: I just looked it up and apparently the odex files are in /data/dalvik-cache. Unfortunately, my /data/dalvik-cache is empty. Hmmmm. I must be doing something wrong. Or perhaps these apks won't run on Devil's Reject v3. Any suggestions?

Hello All I recently updates my Galaxy S2 to ICS, but the email client that comes with touch wiz is very bad. Anyone know where I can download the Stock ICS email client that will work on a non-rooted phone?
I believe you need to be rooted to uninstall the stock email cliend and install the ICS version.
I also had troubles with the stock client but after I found the ICS version everything is fine ... except that its not themed to the S2 way but is white as the gmail client. Do a search here.
Good luck

Thanks for the help, I was able to finally copy it to the system folder, was an option that needed to checked in the file manager. Now every time I try to open email it crashes and the phone takes a long time to boot, had to go back the Samsung app. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
ok, try this -I got a titanium backup of Email 4.0 as it's called on ICS gallaxy s2.
It's backed up just before uninstall right after a new ICS flash -should be good.
1. If you don't have it yet, get titanium backup free from market.
2. In titanium backup uninstall your email app -dont back up (or back up, and then remove from titanium backup folder).
3. Put the 4 attached files in titanium backup folder
4. In titanium, restore the email app
5. See what happenes
Visit the Wanamlite site. Wanam posted a flashable zip of the stock email client that seems to work with any stock deodexed and rooted ROM (it worked on my stock deodexed DXLP7 and DXLPQ).
Be careful, though. After doing this, I noticed that if you try installing themes like Vertumus', the theme doesn't take properly and while you won't get boot loops, you'll have multiple FC issues afterwards.
I haven't looked but I have an inkling that the framework that Vertumus modifies is the stock sammy email client and not the Google one and so when you install his theme it tries to modify the Google client (since it's replaced the stock sammy one) and that's what's causing the issues.
Well, would,n it be more sensible first to try the titanium backups or the original, freshly installed, not tampered with app?

Installing MC2 is one way, but since MC2 kills both Wallet and your battery, I don't think it's a super great option.
Found an app called System Update, but so far even uninstalling it does not prevent the notification.
blargh...
I've now backed up and un-installed System Update, Smart Device Manager, Sprint DM Service, Sprint Installer, SysScope, Sprint Zone, and still, the notification is there upon reboot.
Logcat Extreme shows some weird stuff at the moment. It's showing something called SystemUpdateService verifying that the update zip is downloaded into /cache, but then it's also showing an error that says SystemUpdateService application does not exist. So what's running then? Maybe a dalvik cached copy. I'm going to reboot into twrp and wipe cache and dalvik and we'll see...

The APK you're looking for is FWUpgrade.apk
-go to /cache
-delete update file
-go to system/app
-Rename FWUpgrade.apk to FWUpgrade.apk.bak
-Accept the update and attempt to run(it will end the count down and do nothing)
-reboot phone and it'll never ask you again to update

So far as we know so far that's correct.
Possible exception that I haven't tested myself or seen anyone else yet either:
The xposed framework hack and any normal market version of Wallet doesn't work so far.
But there is another way to get working Wallet which is to use a patched wallet apk that doesn't need xposed framework. I am currently using that patched wallet apk and no xposed framework. Maybe that version will work on mc2 or maybe not. I haven't seen anyone say about it yet. All I've seen is that the regular market version of wallet plus xposed framework which works on ma7 does not work on mc2.
Battery life dont really seem much different to I me. And I never use wallet much anyhow.

Well... es explorer says there are no files in /cache including not the filename that logcat clearly shows. Yes I have show hidden files in settings and yes I'm rooted.
And... I already have no such apk named FWUpgrade.apk anywhere.

...ok so after all this, with all these apks deleted and the cache empty etc, then I went to the notification and accepted the update one more time, it failed of course. And now finally I think that cleared it.
So it's not enough to accept the update and let it fail.
It's not enough to delete (or freeze or rename etc) one or more apk's.
You have to do both. Disable the apk(s). Wipe cache or delete files in /cache. THEN accept the update and let it fail.

Now just to figure out which of those eleventy-seven apk's I removed was the only one that actually mattered....
Maybe one of them was named FWUpdate.apk as the other Brian mentioned, and I just never saw it's filename because I was seeing the package name in Titanium or System Tuner Pro instead and maybe already uninstalled it before he posted.

Updated: 06/05/2013 - added HTC Mail client from the 4.2.2 (2.17.401.1) leak with exchange security disabled.
ARHD users, read this post: which explains why this zip doesn't work for you.
TWRP/CWM flashable zip for 4.1.2: HTCOne-Mail-nosec-flashable.zip
TWRP/CWM flashable zip for 4.2.2: HTCOne-Mail-4.2.2-nosec-flashable.zip
Installing the flashable zip:
Note: This Mail+nonprime.apk is de-odexed, the flashable zip automatically deletes Mail+nonprime.odex if present.
1. Delete existing Exchange account(s), and remove Email Device Administrators -- if any.
2. Copy flashable.zip to sdcard.
3. Reboot to recovery flash zip.
4. Reboot.
5. Setup Exchange account.
6. Enjoy and thank...
Just want to say thanks for posting this, and to confirm that the Calendar sync issue has been fixed here. Everything now syncs w/o issue.

ok one more noob question.....does this require root? can flash the ZIP via CWM recovery, but I'm actually not rooted.
so I was wondering if it was possible to ADD some security policies to the mail app as my company requires:
- Do not Allow unsigned installation packages
- Do not Allow SMIME soft certificates
The motorola email app and Touchdown on my atrix hd do work with my exchange. But stock android and HTC's email app do not. These are the policies that popup when I try to add my work account.

You'll need root privilege.
Don't actually need to root the rom, but do need a custom recovery in order to flash the zip.
Does this fix the problem of your exchange email stopping working? After a couple of days of use my email just stops syncing and I have to delete the account and set it up again. Works fine on my computer and Note 2 but a pain on the One.

Gotcha. Ended up rooting anyway juuuust in case. I was mostly asking because I didn't want to do anything that would mess with an OTA update, but with all the tweaks I've done so far, I'll have to restore from a clean nandroid backup before any OTA update anyway

Force Stop Email, and Clear Data.
Using Root Explorer (or something like it), go to /system/app and rename EmailGoogle and Exchange2Google apks and odex to EmailGoogle.apk.backup and Exchange2Google.apk.backup, etc (always important to have a backup that way you don't F everything up), or
Move the attached files to /system/app [ if you are running CM10.1, you should download the Email2.apk and Exchange2.apk, if you are running stock then you should download Exchange2Google and EmailGoogle apks. Basically, you are downloading the one that matches the naming nomenclature in your ROM. Its not ****ing rocket science. ]
Set permissions to rw-r-r-
Reboot device
Note: You will have to allow activation additional security permissions when Email asks for it. But you should not be required to encrypt your device or set a PIN. Also, you will have to reload all your email info after this.
As always: for educational purposes only, can get you fired, jailed, tortured, etc. Use at your own discretion.

As long as you pulled them from the same Rom/build version it should be fine. You could always reflash your Rom or firmware and start again.

Tmobile samsung galaxy S III, Model: SGH-T999L, Build Number: JZO54K. T999LUVAMB7
rooted, still with stock rom.
When trying to delete some bloat ware, the stock calendar and mail app got deleted as well. I tried install them back, but failed.
Here are steps I did:
......................................................
the calendar and mail app didn't come back, not in the app drawer.
tried to go to /system/app and click related apk to install, it shows: "application not installed".
could anyone point me what is missing? thanks.

As the good Doctor said, Reflash your Rom. Since its the same rom, I don't think you will loose any data. The bloat might come back.
I think you possibly deleted other related Apks sich as GMS or Google Core. Or may be those apks you tried are from different version. If you want to De-bloat, try one of the guides like this one.
Flashing the same will restore everything to the roms original state and won't wipe anything.
Not sure if it's the same as Perseus' link, but Aerowinder has a debloater in his signature a few post a back.

I *think* the problem might be I am not using the correct apk...
I used root66 way odin flashed MB7system.tar.md5 to root the phone, didn't flash any other ROMs.
When I tried to get those 6 apk, I was not able to get those from MB7system.tar.md5(unzip it to .ext4 file and don't know what to do with it).
So I got those files from T999L_UVAMB7_PureStockRooted.zip. Could this be the problem?
DocHoliday77, how can I get those 6 files from MB7system.tar.md5? I'd try this first before I reflash it again.
regarding reflash, in my case, do I just odin MB7system.tar.md5 again? and my own app/data will stay?
thanks

If you are on Linux you can Untar that file. If on Windows you should be able to open the tar with Winzip. Either way Re-Flashing Tar should not delete your data.
With the firmware it's not quite so simple as extracting it. (Youd need to install the kitchen and use it to extract everything from the .img.ext4 file. This has already been done though and is what the pure stock Rom was built from)
If you pull it from the pure stock Rom, make sure you are also getting the corresponding .odex files.
If you already are, then you need to flash either CWM or TWRP recovery and wipe dalvik cache and cache.
Or you can factory reset
Or you can reflash the firmware on top of what you have now. No wipe required.
All of these things should be relatively easy to do. If you've already got the root66 firmware, then easiest would be to just reflash it.
Putting the correct files back in /system/app should work, but if not, that's probably your best option.

I thought he had pure stock Rom there. My bad.

I finally managed to extract those three apk files from the ext4 files and drop them into /system/app and now I got back stock calendar and email app.
Thanks both of you!
