Been using the modded Hulu apk tweaked by a poster on this site for almost a year, right up until lunch time today. I went to open it again, and am now getting the message that my device is not supported at this time.
I'm really over this- why would they not fix this so that their paying customers could use the service?

So I started up Asphalt HD and it informs me of a 100MB update, no biggie I got wifis and the 4Gs.. so it downloads and then takes me to the start menu, I click play and it says you have 5 minutes of free play, blah blah, then crashes immediately. WTF. I wiped my phone to factory defaults once too and tried after that and the same thing... anyone else have this problem?
No, but when I went to the market to buy it, it would get as far as the gameloft screen (even that didn't look right) and it would freeze. Tried uninstall and refund, neither worked. I got the game off eventually but it refused a refund. That was 5 bucks. Went to the demo and tried to but that, they wanted 7 bucks for that. They also want to charge it to your phone number. I didn't like that idea but tried it anyways. Got stuck on the screen saying please wait (for purchasing I guess) and froze there. Tried going to website for help, they don't even list the game. I tried looking for help there. They wanted my phone number or email to find my purchase. It said there was no record for me. After all that, to put that feeling into words.....
The demo included by sprint doesnt work for me, but the game works when I download it from the market. I ended up removing the demo anyway.
I found a download for need for speed shift, which is way better in my opinion. Need an unlocked phone to play it.

NFS:Shift is amazing.
So I've tried several how-to's, which usually included changing my build.prop, to no avail. I've got access to a US VPN which might help with the country check.
- I'm on CM10.1.
- Wallet APK downloaded from here
- FAQ's I've tried (that I saved the links to, anyways): this, and this
The closest I've ever been is Wallet open and "Initializing"... endlessly. I'll be starting from scratch (clean ROM install).
Has anybody gotten this to work on our Canadian Optimus G's? I'd really love to get this working.
So no one then, eh...Oh well, guess I'll just keep my eyes on the forums.
Don't waste your time on that bro, last year I tried everything possible to make it work here in Canada to no avail.

For what it's worth, here's the guide I've used to get to "Setting up Wallet, this may take up to 5 minutes"
http://www.modaco.com/topic/354635-xmod-region-device-root-patched-google-wallet/
20 minutes later and still no dice .
It's not going to help you a whole lot, but I know that what you are trying to do *used* to be possible. Shortly after Google introduced wallet they had a $10 gift card for everyone testing it. I sideloaded wallet on my nexus s and got the $10 for activating it. It worked for payment at Timmy's via NFC and the mastercard paypass terminal. I haven't been able to get wallet working on my new LGOG though.
About a month ago I was using the Hulu+ app with no problems what so ever on my rooted device (Stock). Then all of a sudden, POOF! Hulu+ kept crashing. I contacted support, tried unrooting, tried installing older hacked versions. Nothing. Finally this morning I thought it was something I had done. So I reverted to stock. BAM! It worked! I had read somewhere that Hulu won't let you run their app on rooted devices. I went and rooted anyway and it still worked. So I installed Adfree and Android firewall. Hulu+ broke. I thought I might do some tests and here's what I discovered.
Hulu+ somehow knows your hosts file and iptables are modified. As soon as I disabled them both Hulu worked for me.
Thought I might share this with anyone having issues with Hulu+
I just wish there were a way to trick Hulu into thinking no modifications are made.
Hide my root ( available on the market ) Will hide your su binary. This will probably work too.
You're giving hulu too much credit. It's actually very simple what they're doing. Basically it goes like this:
At ad point, send request for ad. If request is successful and ad plays, continue to show. Else give error message and no show for you.
It's that simple, remove the ad servers from your hosts file and you'll see it working again.
Or reroute them to a shorter ad? Hmm... I wonder if that would work...
***Edit:
So I messed around with it, got hulu working with no ads, just get a "can not load ad" message, have to wait a grueling 30 seconds. Then the entire video played uninterrupted (I skipped past the ad points and it played immediately).
So here's what I did, I removed only the dev and urlcheck from the hosts, left the ad servers in place and changed 127.0.0.1 (loopback) to 0.0.0.0 (invalid ip). what this does is basically tells my phone that the ads are at 0.0.0.0, since that doesn't exist, my phone ignores it, and moves on. The removed servers are a double check system. Hulu sends those out to verify you're not blocking. Those go through fine, hulus like "ok, play the video!". since there's no video as my phone simply did not even bother with it, hulu assumes the server is down and is not your fault, after all, these things happen. Unfortunately they still have to give you 30 seconds of reading time for 1 message. If you watch shows that are interrupted 2 or 3 times though, this should work fine as you can just go get a soda or something while it counts down. So here's a link to the hosts file I'm using, let me know how it goes and I'll see what needs changing

Just fyi, this is the same hosts file found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1916098
Except I changed all blocked from 127.0.0.1 to 0.0.0.0 so it's completely ignored and no request is even attempted. Will make your browsing 0.00001 seconds faster! ! Lol
Oh, and I removed 3 hulu servers to get it to work. I use hulu+ all the time, but if you get an ad, it's possible it was on one of those servers, I'll update here if I get one and post a new hosts.
***last edit lol
I actually let it play through the video this time. It looks like it's timed. Skipping through after the error message works fine, actually watching a video will make it pause for 30 seconds on the error message at least once per show.
I'll see if I can change the apk to drop the 30 seconds to 1. I'll check it tomorrow lest I forget ha
Mates,
I don't know if the Kevo/Kwikset app folks are dumb, lazy or if there is some fee they have to pay to support new phones, but hear my tale of woe, with a happy ending (a minstrel on a mandolin is playing in the background as you read this).
I put Kevo locks everywhere when they first came out with android support. When they work, it is one less key I have to carry, one more thing my everpresent phone can do. They were announced as partners for the Gear S2 which, as we all know, is bull. The tech writers who said it worked were clearly Samsung lapdogs.
The Kevo website says that the app won't work on the Galaxy S7 edge but it did. Right from the start, right out of the gate. Then T-Mobile rolled out a patch last week and it stopped. Nothing. Bupkus. Google Play says the app is not supported by my device.
A little bit of searching led to the actual newest Kevo apk. I downloaded it, deleted the old app, installed it and voila! Back in business. The new version supports remote open and close, which I haven't checked yet- I bought an upgraded lock but it isn't installed.
So, there you have it. I have no idea why Kevo/Kwikset/Unikey didn't test with the newest phones, why they don't know it works or whatever. Their developers are much more interested in supporting iOS and the sheeple that use it, but it will work for us too!
where did you find the latest? i looked for almost 2 hours and the best i could come up with was the 0.99 beta in the google groups. had to sideload an app that lets you change your device to trick Play into letting you install it.
Googled Android kevo apk, found version 1.2.57.2p everywhere. I presumed that was the latest since it has the remote buttons on it.
yeah i saw those results as well, but none of the apk downloaders worked for me. several even said their 'device' was incompatible, which was the same problem i was having.
I'm in the same boat. I have an S7 Edge and while kevo still works with just the proximity and tap lock to open...I've never been able to get the tap to unlock/lock work. Even on my moto360 (gen1) kevo force closes non stop. Another problem I had was my old S5 was on Lollipop and it worked, but then Tmo rolled out the update to MM and now it doesn't even see the lock. I've had multiple emails to Kevo and the only thing I get is that "We're sorry, we have no plans to support MM".
If you got anything to help out with Kevo working on Marshmallow, then I'd appreciate it as well!
I might be a little late on the the subject but I had the Kevo app since the beginning from my Note 4 on KK all the way up to My Note 5 on MM. I rarely use my Moto 360 (1) to open the door but this time I did and the watch went haywire and kept showing a notification indicating that the app is no longer working. So I decided to uninstall the Kevo app and then proceeded to sync the watch and phone, stopping the annoying notification. When I went to the app store to reinstall I found the "phone not compatible"..
Well, decided to sideload to have the Kevo app to look and work the same way I had it before.. after several attempts I figured it out. 1st sideload the Kevo 0.9.58p apk, sign in, then sideload the updated version 1.2.57.2p and it will finally look and feel like the updated one on Lollipop. Sefar is right, why the devs were so lazy in checking for compatibility is beyond me but it works.!!

SlingPlayer stopped working on all three of my FireTVs. Two have very old firmware. One has the newer one rbox released. They are all version 1 fire TVs. Anyone else having problems?
My dad just called and said he has the same issue on two of his Fire TV's. Something going on there for sure
I found this thread on their forums: https://community.slingbox.com/message/150715
If you google "slingplayer fire tv" you will get the link to the app on Amazon, but if you click that link, it says it's invalid. I have the feeling it got pulled from their appstore! I hope this gets fixed, because I NEED that app to work.
EDIT: Here's the response from Slingbox on their twitter site: https://twitter.com/Slingbox/status/746057507462733824
I saw an update from someone in the thread that this is Amazon's fault. It makes sense since the app page is gone from the Amazon website. You can still get to it if you google it and get the app details page.
I think what's causing it to not work is some kind of license verification in the app. I think it's checking to make sure it's valid, but it's failing because it's no longer in the Amazon app store. I tried experimenting with a "patcher" to get it to work, but it still closes right after launch. Anyone have any recommendations to patch the license check? BTW, this is not a paid app. Nobody is stealing it. We can't get it to run on the hardware it's supposed to run on.
Just spoke to Amazon. The tech support team indicated they have officially dropped support for the Slingplayer app. Fortunately I purchased my M1 and Fire TV stick 29 days ago so they are both on their way back to Amazon. Very, very disappointed. Amazon used to be a great company. Now they seem to no longer give a damn about thir customers. Sorry for the bad news. First Boxee, now Amazon. I'm done with Slingbox for good after this.
This is insane. Is there anything similar to a slingbox? There's gotta be some live streaming hardware I could leverage.
New post from Slingbox on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Slingbox/status/747472537190170624
FireTV/Slingplayer: we plan to release an updated, working app for Slingplayer/FireTV tomorrow at the earliest. Thank you for your patience!
Just downloaded 3.0.9 and it works on my older OS Fire TV. Should work for them all.
EDIT: You may need to uninstall 3.0.8 from the Manage Installed Applications screen under settings. The regular uninstall doesn't get rid of the old version sometimes. I think it may be due to me attempting to sideload 3.0.8 after it was pulled from the appstore.
