Dock options for Seidio Extended Battery - Galaxy S III Accessories

I have the following for consistency on my Sprint Galaxy S3:
Seidio Belt clip for bare device
Seidio Extended battery to fit above
Proclip powered car holder for bare device
The common theme is that they all represent the sides and bottom remaining the same size so it all works together.
I know I can buy a Seidio dock that will work, and I can buy a cheap dock like this one:
http://amzn.com/B008AFHOZG
But I wondered if anyone else out there had the Seidio extended battery and what they were using for a dock. Samsung Multimedia dock or something else?
It appear that most of the docks have a movable USB port to accommodate but the design of the Seidio is a bit different in design as mentioned in other threads:

Nobody uses a dock with the seidio extended? Man that blows.

try the Samsung Galaxy Universal Multimedia Desktop Dock. it works with the hyperion extend battery + the TPU case. I cant post links yet but if you go to youtube and search up "Hyperion 4200mAh extended battery and TPU case for the Samsung Galaxy S3 review" by rt5060 he shows that it fits.
If it fits the hyperion battery cover with TPU case I think it should fit the seidio. Good Luck =] :cyclops:

I know it's a bit off topic but could you post a link for your car mount? I have been able to find one for my extended batteries
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium

www.Proclipusa.com
They have specific vehicle mounts, in my Camry I have three mounts, they are solid and do not vibrate.
They are sold all over the world as Brodit and Proclip. Fits standard battery but the Seidio extended battery back keeps the sides uniform enough to have the phone fit.

[Q] Car kit for use with Ballistic case

Hi all,
I have my Evo in a red/black Ballistic HC case and I need a new mounting solution. Was previously using the soundgate M2 but its rather difficult to attach/detach the phone and the plastic disk does not adhere easily to the rubber backing of the Ballistic case. More or less I'm wondering does anyone have a case similar to this one? This would be ideal because I travel alot and could take this with me for use in rental cars. The problem is, I'm not sure it will fit with the Basllistic case on. I know there are alot of other Ballistic owners on here, what are you guys using for car kits? Thanks

thanks, ordered.
theres a guy on ebay that does custom mounts for phones with cases, search Slipgrip Evo or Slipgrip ballistic evo. Ordered one for my innocase II and it worked great, ballistic one coming in the mail
What about just putting the disk on the hard case and covering it with the silicone part, and then pulling the silicone layer off when you get in the car? Free solution.
Here's kind of a DIY solution I came up with for mounting my Ballistic case in the car.
First, I tried this but the phone would fall off quite easily:
http://www.amazon.com/Cellet-Retail-Packaged-Universal-Magnetic/dp/B000KNLG3M?tag=5336653508-20
So, I was at Harbor Freight Tools today when I ran across this:
http://www.harborfreight.com/magnetic-ring-65535.html
So, I bought a couple and here is what I came up with:
First, I broke the eye loop off of it:

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then I put some 3M double sided tape on it:
Then I went out and stuck it on my dash:
I already had this metal disk stuck on the back of my case from the other magnet mount I had tried. It works great on the back of the hard case and you can't even tell it's there with the silicone cover over it.
Here is the case on the mount. It holds VERY securely, it is NOT going to fall off. (had to take my phone out of the case to take the pics)
First just the hard case:
With the silicone cover on:

Here is one of the listings....http://cgi.ebay.com/SlipGrip-Car-Holder-HTC-EVO-Ballistic-HC-Series-Case-On-/400183728575?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item5d2ccf19bf#ht_3055wt_825
I use am Arkon universal car dock. Cost 15 bucks and I've been very happy. Very sturdy
Vibrates in my car bad cause my car vibrates bad but I have it sitting so low I have a shop towel as a damper. I'm sure in a modern car made in the past 20 years wouldnt vibrate. It does block the camera but it holds tight enough to where you can shift it so it wont block. It wont hold as well but it's good enough on my old car so I'm sure it'll be fine for everyone else

[Q] Desktop dock compatible with Case-mate tough case?

Does anyone know of a desktop dock that will work with an S2 fitted with a Case-mate tough case?
I really liked the Zenis dock, however after searching on here, I see that although this dock is suitable for use with a protective case, the tough case is just too thick.
Does a dock that will allow for the extra thichness of the tough case actually exist?
Many thanks for your help.
none.
case-mate tough / otterbox commuter both have bottom protector which won't fit in dock like zenis.
Darnit.
I'll just have to wait until I get my tough case and see how easy it is to take the outer piece on and off at night I guess (thats presuming it would fit a dock without the hard plastic outer piece).
Thanks for your help.
Just tested this samsumg battery cradle dock with my thin mercury case

Will having the S2 attached to the dock all the time when being at home affect battery life?
I realise this thread is awfully old but did anyone come up with a solution to this?
I intend to use my S2 as a spare/backup phone and rather then just shove it in a drawer it would make sense if I could just drop it into a dock and use it for other things. I don't want to take it out of the Casemate tough, or fit a different case as I've come to rely on it's sturdyness and the confidence it gives me when the phone is in my pocket.
So ideally a dock with a width (for the device) of about 6.6cm and a centrally mounted microusb charging prong.
Obviously none of the standard i9100 docks will work but I wonder if docks for any other phones meet the requirements?
Thoughts?
I think that there is one more really important thing - how deep USB plug must go through case, for sweet armor it's about 3mm, so check that out as well. Also if case got socket cover like eg. Otterbox, u must keep space for it as well.

That's not a problem so much as the Case Mate has a 'large hole' for the charging insert, so as long as the dock doesn't have a ridiculous large/wide mount point for the USB connector it should work.
So does anyone know of a phone that has a standard width of about 6.6-6.9cm and has a central point on the bottom for it's microusb charging connector?
Thanks

Dock that will accomodate a Case?

Has anyone seen a dock that will accomodate a normal case?
I have the case-mate POP case, and cannot seem to find a dock that will fit it.
I know the Seidio case will fit in their "innodock Jr." but the dock is pretty tiny and doesn't stack up to the standard Innodock (which isn't available for the S3 that I could see).
This is the case I'm refering to:
http://www.case-mate.com/Samsung-Ga...te-Samsung-Galaxy-S3-Pop-with-Stand-Cases.asp
The oem Samsung dock works perfectly with my speck candy shell... It seems made for cases because the usb is on a spring and pushes down when you dock it.

Thanks for sharing the pictures. Is that the Seido Surface in royal blue? It looks like a darker color than the pictures on their site. Also did you just put a android sticker on it as well?

Oh, nice! How do you like that aluminum bumper? I was thinking about going with one of those and a leather or CF battery cover.
How did you get the front to get that carbon fiber look?

Desk stand for S3 with case?

Has anyone been able to find a nice stand that they use while charging the phone in portrait mode? I currently am using the UAG case, so the normal docks won't work. Thx in advance.

I am using the basic black dock labeled "EZO" with the two piece Incipio Silicrylic case. Fits fine. Dock came with a plastic sizing adapter.

Thanks for the replies. I think I am going to have to become less frugal and convince myself to spend more than I had originally hoped. Nice stands!
these work
I have this one and it works well http://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_nkw=dock&_sacat=0&_odkw=&_ipg=25&_osacat=0&_armrs=1&_ssn=supermom28
Also my wife has this one and my s3 also fits in it with a slim case that snaps on, but it has some room and would fit a tpu case as well http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAMSUNG-GAL...734459?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item19cbf0bdbb
yeah i use a dock as well
I wonder if it will fit my Incipio Faxion.
I found a nice little stand with a sticky front at the container store that works perfectly. And ya, cases force you to rethink stand choices.

I've been using this Thought Out ped3 universal steel stand ($22) for a couple months and I still love it. I had to return the first one I bought, though, because it was warped and wouldn't sit level.
EDIT: Wait, you looking for a DOCK or a STAND, because there's a difference. Your thread title says "stand"...

I bought this too. For 4 bucks I think it solves my lack of desk stand quite well.
The original Samsung dock takes a phone in a case. The bottom part around the microUSB plug is spring loaded, pretty clever.
I bent a gift card to use as a stand when I go to sleep since the phone is in landscape (it won't support portrait) and I have a mesh business card holder at Office Depot on my main desk at home for portrait/landscape.

Pics of modified bumper case with Seidio backdoor and holster

Hi all,
My previous thread illustrated some pictures of the Seidio case vs the Otterbox case:Seidio extended backdoor and Active case pics. Although the Seidio case was decent, I didn't need all that bulk for everyday (when I'm not traveling or camping).
I didn't have the heart to gut my otterbox case, so I came across Angeliou's thread listing an inexpensive black bumper case: Black Bumper for S3 (HQ pics) Recommend!! from http://www.ebay.com/itm/Simple-Black...item3f1b0aa03f.
I purchased from the ebay link and waited a few weeks for the case... Hong Kong address on the return address (I'm in the U.S.A.).
For the price, I figured if I screwed up this inexpensive bumper case it was no big deal. I took a rotary tool to the inside plastic edge so the Seidio backdoor fit. It's not a perfect cut, but I was anxious to get it setup. Additionally, I scuffed up the shiny plastic edge of the case so that it had a brushed look to match the rubber and the Seidio backdoor. Forgive the smudges and lint on my phone, as we're doing some renovation at my house. This case fits in the Seidio holster and slides better in my pocket when I don't use the holster. I find myself using the holster 95% of the time since I got it, as it makes access much easier while wearing jeans, especially when sitting down. The bumper case fits a little loose within the holster but is secure. It will not fall out of the holster (although I have a bad habit of moving large pieces of furniture through small doorways which tends to rub against the release tab; hasn't released yet though).
I am finally completely satisfied with my extended case setup. I might replace the Seidio battery with a larger mAh Mugen in a couple years. However, for now, I can use the phone regularly with all the battery draining features on 24/7 and still get a day to a day and a half out of the phone.
