I have a problem receiving MMS pictures, they come in as thumbnails instead of the full intended size. I'm not a Sprint customer I flashed my phone to nTelos and have no other problems besides MMS.
My typical procedure is to use Titanium Backup then convert APN Backup & Restore as a system app on ICS roms. After restoring APN I use Build Prop Editor to change the mms numeric ID and name to nTelos. I also edit the data profile changing the mms from Sprints server to nTelos. This works for some roms but not others, mainly OTA rooted releases and some custom roms seem to have issues downloading the message. I'd be happy to get a custom rom to work but mainly the ones that do are in alpha or beta which have too many bugs to be a daily driver.
Anyone have an idea why this happens, is it the mms.apk? If so can I replace the mms.apk with another rom developers apk?
I've found a great rom that's stable with good battery life and great performance, but the MMS problem is killing me so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Mms issues in stock based roms
The stock ROMs are the issue. DEODEXED ROMs may help. The MMS.apk is tied to framework and is needed for sms in any fix for MMS I have tried. I use Cricket. Gingerbread was the only way people got MMS working in the stock MMS app on most ROMs. Try googling for Cricket universal MMS apk. And post back here if it worked for you. From what I have read it worked for metropcs and boost users.
I also have ntelos. I'm on Hyperdrive 16.1 w an s4. I like s stock and prefer it. I'll work with you on it if you want. I've been trying for awhile now and came get it right yet.

K im on metropcs and also the rom developer of MetroDroid and the Evo MetroPCS scripts. i need some help figuring out how Mms broke in CM7 and MIUI...MIUI is still on Froyo and they base it off CM6 so im guessing w/e changed there must have broken it and that change also made it into CM7. i use to just use a certain Mms.apk i have in all froyo AOSP roms and Mms worked but now that something changed Mms isnt working. I have a logcat here. Please any help appreciated. =D

I'm kinda having the same issue on the MIUI rom. Whenever i send a message over 160 characters it fails. I checked split message at 160 in settings but doesn't seem to work.. even using handcent too atm..

I have a Bell Gio that i have unlocked and using with telus. I have tried both Cm7 roms and both of them will not allow me to send sms messages when i have data enabled but i can revieve them with know problem. But if i disable data they work fine but i have no internet. I have checked my apns they seem to be ok. Has anyone else on telus expereienced this issue with CM7 on the Gio?
Edit: After looking int it, it seems to be a firmware issue as i havent had problems with stock rom your custom touchwiz rom, just with cm7 roms.
Apperently the issue has been fixed with touchwiz roms, but not with aosp. Back to touchwiz
I have the virgin mobile gio, which is the bell gio (virgin runs off the bell network) and i have not had a problem with ANY rom yet... Did you try a re-flash and wipe?
Make a Wipe and see whether it is improving as it does not upload the rom again
Yea i may, I tried light Orange which is also based off stock 2.3.6 and it also does the same. Apparently it is a Telus carrier Problem but should have been fixed.
Having no problem with enhanced236. I may just stick with it and theme it up.

Running CM9 ICS Build BCM RC4.0U1 on HTC Desire. Everything works great except for MMS. I can not send or receive picture messages. I have tried alot of the tricks used to correct it for CM7 Froyo but I can't make any of them work. Tried going to voice dialer, say open APNs and add apn for cellcom. Also changed apns-conf and that didn't work.
Has anyone been able to get MMS working with CM9 ICS on Cellcom(WI)? I would appreciate any help.

ok so i have been searching far and wide i am using a sprint galaxy s3 running wicked sensations 5.0 and i am having issues with the boot sounds i put in they start late when the phone is almost done with the boot animation and i can not figure out what to do to make it start when it is suposed to like with the stock os if anybody could help me with this issue that would be great also i am having issues using aosp roms when it comes to sending and receiving mms i have replaced the apns with the correct sprint apns via apn back up and restore but still nothing and i have tried go sms pro also i need to note on this that i am also using a sprint prepaid company called expo wireless and i have changed the mmsc url to the correct one again this works on tw based roms but not on aosp roms and there are a ton more aosp roms that i love the features to compared to the one i am using but this rom is a great rom dont get me wrong help please any one!?!?!?!
Before, I had the VILLUMINATI android 4.4.1 rom installed on my E4GT. I recently found a newer version of the VILLUMINATI ROM, android 4.4.2, and now MMS won't work. I can send and receive normal messages, and the MMS worked on 4.4.1. Any Thoughts on why my MMS no longer works?

Same as any rom..use nova launcher..
Creat a shortcut..
Shortcut… activities..settings..apns.
Then edit or create a new apn..
Make sure you save it and you have the one you edit or make new, selected as the active apn.
With all that said.. i havent ran the new release of this rom. It might have a bug. I know that dastin is working on the jb modem, so maybe thats something to do with your problems.
You might need to ask in the thread.
