Try to use third party tethering application..
make sure you have mobile data activated
mine works with a minimum speed of 512 kbps..might be stronger in other locations
I try 3rd party app but same prob.. also other phone can connect to my wifi hotspot but cant connect to internet..

If the problem is on 3g and not on wifi.. Then u might wanna check your APN settings. One of my friends was not able to download anything from play store, but only on 3g. The fault was with the apn settings.

i'm using wifi, i can download off of google store, i just can't download things online, particularly games etc, it all works fine but as soon as i click on 'Download file' it just gives me the error page that explains what could be the problem. i'm just surprised as its happened all of a sudden :S
Use Opera dude.

It might be your ISP blocking those site. have you tried using your 3G to download from website?
You might try doing a data/factory reset or reflash the rom with Odin mate.
id try on 3g the thing is i have a limited 500 mb which i pay 15 pounds a month on, not worth wasting it. my isp won't block it becuase it work just the other day, im really confused but ever since i installed omega rom ive been receiving quite a few problems!
any solutions?
Thanks to TrevE. I got Wifi tethering working on T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II without playing w/ the APNs.

1. Root according to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1955423
2. Install WifiTether_TrevE_Mod_11_22_2012 provided in the first link above
3. Settings that worked for me:
Set Profile to Samsung Galaxy S3
Set Setup-Method to Netd-Ndc
Check Send Netd Max Client Cmd
Enable WiFi Encryption
Channel 01
Check WiFi-driver reload 2
Check Routing fix
Hope it works for you too!

I think they look at packets and see if it is desktop/mobile. Try making sure your desktop/laptop whatever's browser's UA is android.

i do have the unlimited data unlimited everything plan... also is there a guide or vid tuturial if at worst case scenerio to change my pc/browser to make it look to be coming from my mobile?
if you use chrome, like i do, there are a few extensions out there that would change the browser to an android view by using an android as the UserAgent tag.
I had my user agent changed in chrome and was using the agent for android 4.1 with the desktop web page request. That was fine until a week ago and then I started getting redirects from tmobile. Now I can only use regular android 4.1 which only gives you the mobile pages. This is a real drag on a laptop.

are these settings working for everyone? I used wifi tether 3.3 pre 2 version. My friend and I both have the note 2 but I used ics/jb wlan0 setting and wifi driver reload 1 settings. mine tethers fine. had it working with my sons new nabi 2 tablet last night. My friend however couldn't get it to work until he switched profile to galaxy s3 like below but that didn't work for me when I selected that profile.

It works for me but I still get the T-mobile upsell webpage. This is the only con to owning the T-mobile note 2 in my opinion. Almost switched to Sprint because this app works for their note 2 but I cant stand how slow their data is.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
another workarounds for the upsell page:
1.use ubuntu on desktop(this is my method)
2.use vpn on windows (most of them are paid)
3.user agent change on windows
now if you want to watch netflix on tmobile unlimited internet from a desktop that is only possible with us vpn.

Sure it does... Method that works best for me is to use VPN, along with TrevE's moded wifi tether.
I use 'hotspot shield vpn' from the market.
Happy tethering everyone!

What did you mean by (Check Wifi Driver Reload 2) or was the (2) a typo?
And wasn't Routing fix steady checked? Cause it was for me. I'm using the jellybeer Tom and can't get it working
EDIT: I didn't relize I had version from 11/18
So I dl 11/22 version and (Check wifi driver reload 2) didn't work for me so I unchecked it, then checked the one above
Then worked perfect!
Winning!
This works with openvpn too
I connect to my openvpn connection then start the wifi tether with this mod. It works great and they can't snoop into my packets. Tethering to desktop pc, android tablet, iphone, everything else. It works great. No message or upsell page ever.
